  1. The page file is area(s) within the memory that have been allocated (by windows, or set by you) to memory overflow during a program execution , something is trying to access an area of memory that's been allocated for something other then the page file, this would mean that something is manually set to over ride use as much pagefile as it wants, or, your memory is partially failing. Pull one stick at a time from the motherboard, then start the machine, if it does the same thing, put that one back in, and pull the other one out, and try. This might not help though, so go into safe mode, (this way the program the program that's causing the issue isn't loaded into memory ) and shut off all startup programs. start with command prompt, then msconfig, then startup programs.
  2. When you ran "sfc/ scannow " , you say it did nothing, do you mean doing this did nothing to fix the issue, or when you tried to run it, it did not run? So spybot found nothing ? wow, I have never run spybot and had it retrieve nothing, it most always for the first time, comes up with dozens of entries of simple spyware. And sometimes, it will show several after the initial scan from simply browsing the net, and storing standard cookies. Did you update it after the install, and "immunize" the system and block all known bad pages ? There should be over 80,000 blocked pages right now, At least, I have seen systems that have blocked over 100,000. What spyware, and or antiviral solutions do you use normally ? If it's the case where you have no virus, and your system has not been compromised where core processes have been altered by the intruder, then someone must have turned off one or more services manually. This isn't something that just happens on it's own. Make sure "cryptographic services" is running in the services, and make sure " bits" is running. To get there , goto start, control panel, administrative tool, then services, there in alphabetical order.
  3. Without looking at it, it will be tough, but from where I sit, there's an IP conflict. You should be able to set up a static IP on at least one of the machines, this way that IP is tied up, and won't be leased out. There are VPN settings in most routers, have a peek and see if there's anything that can be done .
  4. well if your innocent, there's nothing to worry about
  5. Now I'm not on any satellite , but knowing how VoIP works, you'll be happy if your upload supports the bandwidth needed to push the data. I've read several posts here and there of people complaining of the same thing. If there are QOS settings in the router your using, I suggest setting them to the correct ports to allow the signal to take possession of the line during a call.
  6. rofl, no, I meant that's a nick name we call them
  7. We call them "pecker knats " :haha:
  8. :haha: couldn't be more true
  9. And there you have it.
  10. Bah, we've all done " things" that we should have known better.
  11. There's no reason for concern, you have nothing to be concerned about, did you read the last several posts? If he does post anything about you on the net, then he's in deep , but I'm thinking he knows better, and just trying to get you to take a bad phone that he obviously has. And like zalternate said, there's a serial involved. Keep this thread updated on every deteail please, just no personal info. I'm very interested to see what, if anything, he will do next.
  12. Thats pretty good, there a hot item right now.
  13. Well then this solves it right here and now ! If in fact this gentleman owns a website that consists of selling phones, and has obviously experience with the iPhone if you look at the site, then this would be the first thing he would look at before the sale. So he just made a foolish mistake, making himself look like he is trying to commit fraud. Any one dealing with phones would know this device was on the Iphone. So he is fooling no one.
  14. :haha: Must have been some configuration in the monitor itself no ? Funny as hell, makes ya feel good though now that you have your monitor back , I know .
  15. You seem to show much interest in adjusting the inner settings of the browser, which is great, most people just fill up the thing with addons, and skins. I'm going to redirect the question you asked of us back to yourself, how is the browser acting after the adjustments, do you have a before and after results page to post ? What exactly is the noticeable difference ? Maybe you can continue getting deeper into this, and begin development of your own
  16. The last several times I came across windows not updating properly, I found hidden deep inside the windows system folder, a nasty little virus, that is called "vundo" . Not saying for sure, but there's allot of things that will interfere with the updates. Start the machine in d=safe mode, scan with spybot, if , and when it doesn't find anything, the scan w/ your antivirus, if and when it doesn't locate it, then install another antivirus that you don't normally use, ( un install the one your using now of course, you don't want two running ) . Either way, if you find it or not, you can do this first , or after you scan in safe mode, but put the windows installation disk in, when the screen comes up that shows you what you can do with the disk, just kill that process, and goto start > run > type " sfc /scannow " in there, count on this taking a while. What you will be doing is making sure that all the necessary system files properly in there, and nothing is wrong with them. Now you wil know how bad things are "messed up " by how long this takes, if your filed with the nasties, then it will appear that the OS is completely installing again, and in many cases, it replaces most, if not all the windows system files when things are bad. In this case, you will need the installation key. Which hopefully will not be an issue for you. But do not worry, none of your personal files will be messed with at all, I have never had any thing go wrong while doing this. And it's been done many more times then I would like to try and think about, on many systems. As for looking at the BIOS through DVI, I can see no reason why you shouldn't be able to, just make sure you have your BIOS set to load the card first that possesses the DVI port.
  17. Not sure of the legalities on selling things here, if i read the rules right, it's forbidden.I will list them just to list them, but I will not solicit them here in any way shape , or form. I have a New (used for one week ) LG Lotus, and 3 brand new Samsung rant's , new open, but never activated. I have several others, but there nothing like a blackberry. Any more then the rants are, now the Lotus is a great phone, but not a PDA, it has internet capbilities, email, MP3/4 ect, full mini qwerty KB, 2.4 MP cam, (I think on the MP) it's a nice flip phone, that looks totally different then anything else out there, But there pricey. Any other PPC's or PDA's went fast, I had 7 storms, and 22 curves, I have a motorola iC902, a motov6, moto Q, moto a4500-Q9, omg, I cn't remember anymore. Iv'e had WAY more then this, I would buy them , ttry them, sell them, if they are hot, then I get distributor price on as many as I have the cash for, and off them asap before the next model comes out (in a week) seriously.
  18. You doing what you do with printers , I'm thinking that CUPS will be nothing less then a major asset to you. It is to me, and I don't deal with printers every day like yourself. Just post whatever you find, like I said earlier, there's more I run into most all the time. You might want to look into "automator" , as well, just type it in spotlight.
  19. You put a smile on my face. Because so many people listen to what others say about macs, even if they have has there hands on one, unless that USE it, then there is no understanding. aar, I'm thinking you'll like VMware better then parallels, I do, and Iv'e used both , extensively. VMware uses much less system resources. And integrates the windows environment much smoother. It sounds as if you have installed the toolkit, and are running the OS's layered on top of each other. Cool, but can get a bit confusing at first. Have you ever use "CUPS" to associate all the printers ? goto "http://localhost:631" It's your local print server.
  20. Nice connection There are several old machines here, one that I use for an ftp, one that I use for when I'm doing something to my main machine that I use to access the net, and so long as there configured right, I get the same speeds as a brand new machine. You just have to make sure the drivers are as new as possible, even if it doesn't go with the card it will still work, and adjust registry values. You can get the same thoughput . I remember when adelphia went through the scandal of father and son embezzling millions, and TWC took over. This is how I originally found testmy.net, after speaking with a couple local techs that moved up into higher positions within TWC , they agreed that testmy.net was the most accurate, and when they take there laptops out in the field, that they use for specific reasons of testing from the port, they use testmy.net. Why? he told me TMN (testmy.net) used a different way of sending data to test with, therefore the results were more accurate. And the location of TMN is vital, it's sitting in a data center located very close to a main backbone, and since you test from the same server, you get regular results, your not testing from servers all over the place like many of the other test sites. Most experienced techs will tell you, you need a consistent test server, where the variables are kept to a minimum. They test with testmy.net for that reason. Among others. Think about it, if you were testing from a different location each time, how would you know where your base bandwidth was, there's nothing to go by.
  21. I split the topic, guess I missed on heheh eeehhm
  22. This thread is for discussions concerning mac's. Questions, answers, whatever.
  23. Let me know what else you learn, I say this because the more I use a mac, the more I find, and it's been close to ten years. I had a question for you, what did you mean by " I see no differance as the interface goes but it has been extremely smooth in operation." aar, I'm going to split this topic, and name it " OSX experience "
  24. :haha: right on
  25. It's amazing that your having that much trouble, it really is. Ive had several apple machines, and still do, and I would dare to bet , you've already had more issues then Iv'e ever had , combined. I'm guessing there si some underlying issue here. To sync the PPC to mac, you'll need missing sync , and don't use parallels, use, VMware , much better, faster, lighter, ect. Find out what rEFIt is all about. You'll enjoy the ease of use as it's a bootloader that will recognize any bootable device connected peripherally, (removable media ) or internal, at minimal configuration, ( like uhm, none lol ) you can also use it in conjunction with "bootcamp" if you like. So when people talk about double and triple boot systems, lets look more on the lines of as many partitions as you chose to make on the HDD. Of course remember if yo use bootcamp, then you'll have to partition a fat32 partition at 32GB in order for the windows/OSX share (desktop to desktop ) to work. You'll be able to drag and drop from one OS ( via VMware fusion ) to another, which comes in very handy all day long. As to the software freezing up, maybe once in a blue moon for me, but when this does happen, go up into the apple on the upper left hand corner, and look for "force quit" , all the running ".app" will appear there, just kill that specific .app, and you'll be good to go. BTW~What are the .dmg's that your having issues with, just out of curiosity.
