1. I do believe Ubuntu is the hottest distro right now, ( 8.04 or Hardy Heron ) is due out well, the release date is the distro number (4th month of of 08), I v'e been using the beta for several week, the firewall is incomplete, but will be complete by general release. I see " compiz Fusion " being one of the attractions that draws in Linux users, the 3D desktop environment is amazing. Although Mandriva 08 has a more " professional " feel to the GUI, and runs without a hitch for the most part. The open source apps are mounding up to extraordinary proportions, any application you need or want is out there, and free, there's almost no reason at this point to run a windows OS. Gaming on windows will become a thing of the past within the next several years.
2. I personally don't bother to modify anything he makes. I have used several of his files, as my OS changes , and my service caps change, I use the correct file, so I guess I would be of no help, sorry.
3. I think the reason being is for the last how many years , Vanburen has had the market on our ccs files, he's the best, and no one has ever complained, but yet praised him , and thanked him for his work. He is the best! Every file I have used of his, has had the outcome of nothing less than spectacular ! A true genius. VanBurens Cablenut Settings
4. here it is, as Dlewis stated, many of the apps are copies from apple, a UNIX system, so they run smooth, w/ all the crap windows has tying up resources, how could you expect anything less then a traffic jam or threads at the cpu level.
5. There can be no truly honest rebuttal because everything he said is entirely true!

10. Why the hell would they only allow a selected people to benefit from this?
11. My take on this whole thing is you are getting calls you don't want right?, So they create a don't call list? :haha: ok, wait a second here, by calling this " list" you are putting your number on a LIST DUH! Information is stole every second of every day, regardless wether or not the so called gov agency is controlling it. Look, a couple years agowhen this garbage came up, my better half decided to put our # on the list, we weren't having any issues, she also put my damn cell phone # on it, damn near from that day, and I mean damn near from that day, I began getting solicitations. So go ahead make the list that is not only available to the solicitation companies ( otherwise how would they know not to call , duh! ), you think they don't find loopholes in the system, ? like selling the info to companies that are not major players? and arent restricted by this no call list agency? :haha: Enjoy.
12. That rocked !!!!!!!!!!!!! Hell 3800 for a 2200 stock chip? Nice , real nice!!!!!! You see the violtage there? 4.xxx something :haha:
13. Hello carthur and welcome to testmy.net. Be sure that you have the spelling correct, is it, svchost.exe , or scvhost.exe . If it is the latter, then it is a virus. If not, there are many items linked to this error because there are many items that use this. You should be able to find the specific error by checking the log. To open Event Viewer, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, then click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management. Or, open the MMC containing the Event Viewer snap-in. 2. In the console tree, click Event Viewer. The Application, Security, and System logs are displayed in the Event Viewer window.

17. We have had a lot of trouble w/ different fames and PS2 in the past month as well, I don't have an answer but my condolences, lol, the PS2 says the connection is fine. I'm wondering if it is a memory card issue, did you try another one? It ping fine, but kicks me off as soon as I get online.
18. Pretty sure it takes a dsl modem more time than that to adjust and get the best signal and such.
19. How long has your modem been plugged in?
20. Well this time I have a couple things going on, I would suggest in the mean time, just looking through the wireless router scoping out what and where things are, so when the time comes we don't have to search for things. More or less just familiarize yourself with the router, and if you have time, maybe read what some of the options do.
21. Yeh, we'll get it, we will connect the Voips to the second router. One way or another
22. Nice one, what company is that interface from?
23. One flaw in the design , keep the viop routers on one " leg " or port to themselves, don't put any devices in series with them. This way the they have bandwidth prejudice over all by means of setting the QOS in the wireless to that specific port. If you cannot access one of the VOIP routers, just put it last in the sequence, just be sure to set the DHCP in the first one to OFF.
24. Good story, but I find it a bit humorous that they say " simple" it wasn't that long ago when if you mentioned "nano", people thought you were acting like frickin Mork from Ork :2funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yR6PcwZtB0&hl=en
