Single Media TV live streaming device slowing my connection down.
mudmanc4 replied to alan8187's topic in General Help
Netflix is a serious bandwidth hog, taking one third of the continental USA bandwidth at times, many times. < irrelevant to your issue Live streaming will consume more bandwidth then a compressed netflix movie. , especially if HD. Since streaming will appear on a real time bandwidth meter as a 'heartbeat' or similar, the data cannot be compressed much due to being live, they may only have a 5 minutes pre start time. Trying to stream a live event in HD and play an online game would require a significant download cap, now please don't quote the figure, but my thoughts would be in the neighborhood of 100 Mbps down and at least 5 Mbps up. Those figures are my thoughts not examples of fact. -
Understand that heat part. At the same time , the nights have been getting down to 40 F and near already here. The PS3 is the only thing running around here at the moment, anything else just is not putting out enough to justify having powered up strictly for folding.

Hell more people then will admit are slow thinking, let alone those that even know it, so you fit right in anywhere you go

I might attempt to uninstall the device through device manager, restart the machine and windows should find the device. If not, use the 'install new hardwars ~ already connected ' wizard. What happens after ?

Seems that you should find the correct driver for the card.

It's all good, were all just swimming in a binary pool, sometimes we bump one another here and again -

Yea well hey < nice grammar huh lol XP is going to stay around here for a long time to come, support or no. Not tossing away perfect machines because of no more security updates. For those that refuse to run an OS that eats ram to survive, I'm sure the same. When it starts to funkitate and my foo can no longer be of any help , the machines will smile profuse and show their beaks in the sunlight to any linux distro from the beginning of time until present day

Myself not being a later microsoft version fan my opinion would be no on the 7 Aside this , have you found what software may be on the machine ? Is it worth not running though the simple process of resetting the password first ? This is only a question you can answer. Maybe conuck is right , chuck it and try 7 , myself when I gert a machine with a legit XP license I never lose it. Just wipe it clean and use it. Or chuck it all and put any linux OS on it. Which will beat the daylights out of any other OS.

Statistical Process Control (SPC) Tool for Broadband?
mudmanc4 replied to Woodlane's topic in General Discussion
Agreed' , sometimes I think much too deep , which leads me away from the task or request. It's an issue I'm dealing with -
Yes, some machines might complain when you type in the 'control' command, if so I have a couple other ways to get it opened up. And the reason I went searching in the first place is exactly the same as you say, I obtain a lot of machines this way on trade in , or used to , people are holding on to their boxes in the last couple years. IMO XP was much more secure then anything after. I'm talking overall, because one must have physical access to the machine to carry out this fix.

Same here, I'm paying his cost now for 60/3 , so obviously I'de switch in a heartbeat.

XP is easy to change the admin login if you have an install cd for it ? Boot to the cd, when it asks if you want to install or repair hit 'enter' , this should locate the current installation, now hit the 'r' key , for repair Windows will copy files, and reboot. Do not boot to cd , allow the machine to boot normally.... When you see the installation begin after the reboot, hit 'shift+F10' do not wait for installation it will overwrite the current installation..... A command prompt will show up. In the shell type ' control userpasswords2' And you'll have access to all users and passwords on the machine , just change them. For anyone trying to use this to cause someone else trouble , steal information or do damage , it's your butt not mine.

Home row to me is more like where ever my hands happen to be at the time, even if the right pointer is wandering over to the T lol Yes , the noise is obvious, at the same time they ' the people around me ' no longer say anything like ' there he goes typin is ass off ' haha , I think they're used to it as am I. I just cannot beat it. I type much more accurate and my fingers do not hurt at the end of the day. Anytime i might hear of an old IBM with ALPS , I would try and get it for a second. People just don't let them go. This KB used white ALPS, but there has been some controversy as to how he was able to get the company to make him all these switches. But i tell you what, I have used an original with ALPS and virtually none if any difference to my recollection. Kinda hyjacked this thread , like old times

I decided to look into this after they cut my hand and arm twice and was typing worse then ever. Since I was a touch typer but never really did that great of a job following the standard, when the nerves twitched I hit the wrong keys. Once I righted this ( for the most part ) In the mean time I found n-key rollover , which supposedly the KB is wired where each key is separate instead of in series ( could be wrong there ). None the less I'm still a touch typer, but much like yourself ca3le , I've developed my own rhythm and way to find the keys. And with this KB when I get moving sooper fast I don't get missed and double or triple key presses. As for the thin KB , I have one here as well, used it for a while, now it sits over there lol It started hurting my hands , no back pressure or rebound, so I use a tactile KB, like the old ones , noisy as hell and each key is a switch , not a gushy......... whatever you call it lol
