your test passing through too many other hands from here

Chances are since Australia has serious issues with there lines , not to mention the QOS , or the allocation by sector ,DNS hijacking ( worse then the US ISP's for adverts ) and censorship, I'm not in the slightest surprised to hear someone may have issues. -
Good to see you daytrader !

Rogers Hi-Speed Ultimate D/L Speed Increasing
mudmanc4 replied to fspilot's topic in Rogers Communications
YES ! I find myself getting more and more "can't wait" . At the same token at another office there's a T1 that is a fraction of the width , but much cleaner obviously more steady, I can deal with that. Id'e much rather have a dedicated 10/10 line then a 60/3 , no comparison. -
So apple is worth more than microsoft and google combined.....
mudmanc4 replied to ninjageek's topic in General Discussion
There all the same in that aspect, not only application being developed specifically for the platform , at the same time , industries protecting there assets. A great time to jump back in the physical world for a peek might be in 100 years from now , imagine the advances that will be available. Not forgetting about the divisions coming together as were already seeing. -

Pretty much just as microsoft does with much of there items. -
A second doa router is highly unlikely although not entirely unheard of. Try this: Leave everything connected as is , or how you have it now Disconnect the coax or incoming cable to the modem Restart the modem Connect to the modem through the router using 192.168.100.1 ( or your known modem IP ) What do you see that should be different and can you stay connected
-
Can you ping the modem through the router ? From a local wired machine. I know you said any , at the same time you mentioned pinging from within the router.

Hey Ninja good to hear from you. I did a bit of searching , I always look for free software ( free as in open source , and if it is " free " as well all the better. MP3Split comes with a GNU GPL and claims to split large mp3's or albums into tracks , at your own split points , which would be good for your application. The software is maintained and updated , so give it a try and see what great results you can get. http://mp3splt.sourc...t_page/home.php

Yes thanks to all service men and woman, your values on protecting the US are much appreciated.

True , at the same time the modem will over ride anything before it by setting the dns the local machine is forwarded to , to the modem / router IP which the ISP has control over. So if windows is set to auto detect and the dns ( unless manually set ) to standards, the modem / router would be considered a secondary dns forwarder. No ?

Hey Mark , welcome to testmy.net , I can say thanks for the decent attitude about the troubles, some people get wound up ( myself included ) at times, with good reason as well. Shouldn't be terribly difficult to watch the reclamation yards for a truck full of cable coming in I have to say this is the first time Iv'e heard of someone doing that , made me chuckle, at the same time , if it were my service I might not be quite as smiley about it yes ? There is a bit of location envy though , I might gladly trade my complaining about a 60Mb connection not working quite as well as I want, for a place out away from the madness. Not might , definitely. At any rate , stick around and see what there is to see here , there's quite a bit , as well as quite a few people that surely can assist you in getting the most from your current connection.

Welcome to testmy.net Mr.Davis This is not the first time we have heard of what is called dns hijacking from the ISP, it seems to be an ongoing issue , where the ISP has for some reason or another decided you must use there dns , and will not allow changes. In the community this is not a deed taken lightly, nor is it deemed even legal in many circles. Can you explain just where your setting the new dns ie: router or local machine There are many complaints about wildblue , then again , many as well about many ISP's
-
Yes , that machine (PS3 ) is mind mush , I think of it here and again , I actually took it out and dusted it The WU's are completing, it grabs a new , and starts up , finishes and complains about can't reach destination. Even manually sending fails due to the same. It's not in a VM , it's installed in a user on DOM0 Funky thing is I can ping the IP from terminal with 200 but the results fail to send. I read up last week and found there is / was a bug, but as always , sidetracked. I shut it down in lue of this , and i use that machine for local DNS, just fire up that drive once a week or so to refresh the forwarder. Lazy I know , but it's the only 64 bit machine around here other than the mac , so everything else highly restricts what I can do along those lines. I am working on a virtual solution, maybe run w2k server ( which right now handles DNS and active directory ) , then again I'de still be losing a lot because things change around here so much. One of these days I'll just stop playing and do emails, and test my overpriced connection, although at that time i won't give a care lol

Gotta love poll bump lol

I bet something is in the middle of updating , or a dot or dash missed ? Cable knows we all love that feature -
Interesting though , with RDP the features work as they should, so the mouse features are captured, but the keypad is not.
-
Makes me wonder about public restrooms then ( remember the movie dumb -n- dumber )
-
What are you doing to get scrolling features of the mouse on windows ? I'm also dealing with the keypad not being alive. My shorcuts are twisted or null , where is paste ? Whatever happened to cmd+v ? sheese o pizza I have lots of issue lol Not to mention forget about everything the mouse does , since i must use the thing for lack of shortcuts, such as , well if you don't know you cannot answer.
