  1. Got emailed by google saying there hosted domain service will be retired. I cannot imagine why they would be doing this other than cleaning up the internet by censorship. Hell I have somewhere around 30 + domains hosted by google which are associated with adsense. I cannot imagine how many tens of thousands will be effected.Guess I'll get to making a page for each one and placing other adds on them, and a link to where they can be purchased.
  2. Holding the fingers up is what gets it. I can use the trackball, I use it on the KMV switch because it's not used regular. It's huge and has a lot of miles on it. Needs new ball bearings bad. And coknuck thats a great idea. I'll look a bit more to where it's made. Competitive gaming, well since Iv'e yet to this day get online and game against others, I suppose I'm not missing anything. I am working on adding a Lan Party section to the shop (if you can call it that right now lol ) so others can do it. Cushy couches, table for feet , fridge close by, large screen HD monitor and tons of well fed receptacles fed by a voltage regulator and cleaner.
  3. Quite possible TriRan You never know , people are starting to wise up a bit. Getting away from the big government/ china made , make USA all consumer and no manufacture. I'll find something, I'm sure of that.
  4. The old standard is F8 key to set the BIOS defaults, then F10 to save. Is that your key, I do not know. I'm sure it'll say somewhere in there. That and if you bork it up to where it cannot init , then you might have a jumper on the board to reset. Or pop the battery for 30 seconds. BTW, do they still burn in the CPU's or is that a by gone. When I do a new machine , it's rarely anymore anything special so there's no need to scribe lines.
  5. Well I can say were getting closer to thinking outside of what china has to offer. Did I mention whatever I end up with , if anything , has to be made in the USA ?
  6. Says 0.1" This should be thin enough, although 0.03125 is what I would prefer. Although 11" x 17" at 1/10th would likely be just fine, I don't want to get to particular, or I shouldn't get too particular, makes for coarse verbal intercourse. The desk is approx. 6 ' x 42" , so yea, the larger would end up holding the everything. lol Thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep the one you have in mind while I continue the search. And I understand you are satisfied with the mousepad , right?
  7. I have the microsoft trackball explorer v 1.0 , had it for years. After a carpal tunnel surgery and two elbow surgeries I'm limited in what I can use and what position. The mouse I'm using now is setup very sensitive, I can get across two screens with roughly 2" of mouse movement. Because of the acceleration properties, and adjusting the properties of the mouse config files.
  8. Thats exactly why I posted this topic RTB, To get idea's like that. I'm thinking and outdoor clear coat on the desk, will be tough and much more resistant to constant scrapes of the mouse. If there's any specific material that anyone knows of , or thinks might be a good alternative to a mousepad, I would not mind hearing it.
  9. I have not used a mousepad for years, besides being in the way because of thickness ( my mouse sits in front of the keyboard ) , there generally too small , and just crappy in every aspect. I try and use the keyboard for as much as i can. Helps the elbow movement all day. I was using a standard slice of printer paper when i know I'll be using the mouse a lot, then the edge curls up , and thats it, flip it around until it starts again So I'm thinking of getting a large pad, around 24 x 24 " , can be a little less, has to be thin, and not slide, I can't stand a siding mousepad. I don't want to spend a ton on a silly mousepad, I might even look at another product, but if you have any idea's that would be great. I looked at a few gaming pads, but there's no chance of me paying 30 bucks for this.
  10. Well if your showing +/- 1Mb ( 9 ) on a 10 Mb connection , I don't see any issue. Unless of course your having other issues such as intermittent connections and so on. It's hilarious there showing 20Mb internally when they only have your modem allocated at 10 Mb Perfect example of how in correct that type of testing can be.
  11. From my understanding , there is a threshold utilized right now where a certain given amount of bandwidth is available per channel / frequency. Depending on what is allocated to the mac address, depends on how many channels will be used to achieve the bandwidth. Unless, and in my opinion again , unless you are dealing with 5Mb and lower , you won't see any increase, as there is no need for an extra channel. If you are dealing with 20Mb and up , in my opinion , you may depending on the set allocated bandwidth per channel , see cleaner throughput. There's a lot to be said about overhead. None the less, dealing with 20 Mb and up , my thoughts are that the connection would benefit from the latest ISP pushed firmware on a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. With the latest modem and firmware , at the very least , if operating properly , you can alleviate the device while trouble shooting. Doing a quick search , Iv'e found this: Source This in the end , tells us that theoretically , unless your running above 42 Mb downstream , you won't utilize a DOCSIS 3 modem. Although I have serious doubts there would be no positive influence, not excluding the possible QOS and quota config that might be set at the head end for distributing quality bandwidth. To say the least, as already stated , it gets much more complicated then this. With what limited knowledge I have about this , I'll still stick to my original thoughts , that the latest hardware / firmware would be beneficial at or around 20 Mb downstream.
  12. Just an idea to build from, or re write yourself if you so desire. Decent IPS mod for just the occasion. Haven't used it because I really have no community in that sense. http://community.inv...37-classifieds/ I would say Nexus, but thats much more heavy, and geared more towards the site owner. I use it on three sites and it works like it should , and always improving. Although I have a full blown eCommerce suite for a more serious situation , Nexus is nothing to toss a stick at. Either way you go , honestly we know 98% of the people that would use it would have no issue at all, more or less self moderating in a sense. And i personally feel that someone like conuck is just the level headed person that fits the bill to oversee the over see erz . Thats if he has time or the care to get into it.
  13. Yes I am , my parents used to take us there quite often growing up. So I really enjoy myrtle beach. And grew to enjoy chincoteague virginia as well.
  14. There are so many constraints now with that type of thing really. In a perfect scenario sure a thread like that would be awesome imo, at the same time , not if , but when an issue arises , I don't think ca3le would care to be moderating disputes.
  15. I have my thoughts as to why the upload is close or the same. I do think they would leave you with the modem. Once they toss a modem your way , the chances of them coming out and replacing it with an older model in my opinion are slim to none. I think you mentioned how long you've had the service , or the modem, I don't recall though. All modems should really be the latest hardware and firmware ( updated by the ISP ) anyway.
  16. Bet you slept a bit restless last night. Hell I'm excited for you, thats a nice setup ! Maybe you can take a few snapshots of the thing while it's still smellin all fresh and new like. Nothin like the smell of a brand new motherboard . Kinda like a 100 year old book , when you open it , there's just that smell. Ok too far into my likes lol
  17. Nice one geezus !!!!
  18. Well yes they do. And it really is showing. The family is one of the most important threads in the fabric of society, respecting each other and learning from each others experiences. We as people , and parents have been much too lax for much too long. For some reason allowing things to go on that we know well would not have went well as we were growing up. And good reason. It's not to be mean , degrading or superficial , separating daily stresses is important when dealing with your peers let alone immediate family and children. Allowing politicians to dictate what is OK in the sense of being a parent. Empowering minds that as nature dictates an already rebellious mental status, this has lead the people of this country to a place where only morals and self respect are left out of the equation. There is a reason for having faith and following the meanings behind those " old and outdated " scriptures. If most important to teach the feelings of self importance through self respect.
  19. If you have a DOCSIS 2.0 modem ( and i should remember because you have said it here before ), then chances are just a modem swap should do it. If you upgrade. On another note, you could work it a little , and grab there highest package for a month to test it out, and if your not satisfied , then just call them up and switch back. In that case however , you would have at your disposal , a DOCSIS 3.0 modem. Which would clear up any issues you might have with the modem. If any.
  20. Where did this guy come from ? I mean seriously ? I was under the serious conviction that there were no good parents left, that government school systems were the new parents. Whats with all this "respect " stuff ? Kids are taught that parents are stupid old and ill educated, where did this guy come from ? Is he an alien ? Brought a tear to my eye , and I now have a fresh new outlook, the outlook that there is really hope, that even if a glimmer of a real man, parent and teacher ( which is the true definition in part of a parent ) , that they are out there, the future is not lost as has been told by so many.
  21. Yea , I picked up a few last night as well, these were tubular shaped and laying on top the snow steaming there way through to the earth . Puppy made them special for me around 3 AM this morning
  22. You know I really enjoy new stuff like this , if it is new I have not read too deep on there site yet, either way , I know about it now , thanks !!!!
  23. Yea there was a felt pad or something then , i don't know what they have now for it. But the pad got soaked then dripped lol Really an interesting technology, if someone would put some time into it for this application it might do wonders.
  24. Sounds like a local cookie issue ?
  25. Have they come far enough with the Peltier that it doesn't drip condensation on and around the CPU ? I use one sometime in the late 90's and what a mess that was.
