AsD Posted May 1, 2006 CID Share Posted May 1, 2006 Just wanted a few opinions on Media/Audio players, I don't like Windows Media Player and have tried a couple of alternatives - WinAmp and Jet Audio but find there are some bugs in them. So are there any others that the community would recommend? Bein a bit lazy i guess, but the suns out so I dont have time for searching and testing

Swimmer Posted May 1, 2006 CID Share Posted May 1, 2006 I am a winamp fan.. There is real player, dvix, and one that I just found.. songbird.. it is based on firefox and is open source.. looks a lot like Itunes.. check it out.. http://www.songbirdnest.com/features
ArcticWolf Posted May 1, 2006 CID Share Posted May 1, 2006 I personally use VLC Media player.... it's great if you have a slower computer, and you don't need to have divX because it comes with the program I believe ,it also plays quicktime files without having to download quicktime. Take snapshots of videos, etc.

netmasta Posted May 2, 2006 CID Share Posted May 2, 2006 I'm fine with just using Media player. I never use real player, ugh. Real Alternative is much better.
resopalrabotnick Posted May 2, 2006 CID Share Posted May 2, 2006 you can get an adware free version of real player from the bbc. they licensed it to stream their content and made it a condition that real networks provide them with a non-advertising version. it should still be available on their website.
