  1. dn0: to awnser your .gif question .I have an image turned into code at
  2. dn0:I had to resize the John Wayne down with Ifranveiw I'm sure other Image software can do this too.
  3. coknuck: I liked the regular Levis bells the best I was pretty lean back then about 165 lbs now about 185.So they fit the best. But I had some of the Levi Big Bells too.I have heard the vintage ones sell in Japan for $150 to $200 a pair. I was lucky my brother worked at Levis in 1974 to 1976 I got a good discount. Both kind aprox.$7.00 a pair
  4. bwt1953 : I never wore a leisure suit ,white belt or white shoes much less let anyone take my picture in them. I wore Levi bell bottom denim jeans mostly,T shirt or tank top some times tie dyed ones.I did have a Neru jacket though. The really big bell bottom pants(not Levi regular bells) Looked OK if you were just standing but got in the way if you were doing anything.Basically the "individual doing his own thing" just like all his freinds.
  5. I am still not having a problem.May because I am on dial-up
  6. bwt1953 :I guess the army did keep th barracks redecorating to a mimimum.I wasn't drafted so I was never in the military. Not to imply you were drafted you may have voluntered. If your member stats are correct that would have been 1972 to 79. The Veit Nam war was almost over did you have to go?I had a freind in the army during that time who did service in Germany & was never sent to VN.On the other hand a girlfreind's brother was a tunnel rat in VN He commited suicide about 2 years after coming home.Didn't you have freinds outside the military that had apartments that were simular or even before 1972 older freinds or siblings that did.I have heard of people treating soldiers badly during that time it just didn't seem to happen here.At least from what I saw.I wasn't in to the take any drug somebody handed you thing either. I did smoke herbs other than tobacco (I bet that admision would be hard to use in court) But I quit that over 20 years ago. And would be the first one to recomend staying drug free to the younger generation.
  7. bwt1953 : Well I guess us Texas hippies are different than the San Francisco hippies.Janis Joplin was a good old Texas hippie. The years have changed the hippie in me some anyway but I did just cut my hair from shoulder legnth ( my usual winter legnth) to quite a bit shorter for summer.I've been doing that for 20 years or so .Before that I hardly ever cut it shorter than shoulder legnth. But you are from that generation so you know Tie dye sheet curtains .fish nets hanging from the ceiling.cool psycadelic posters(both blacklight & regular,Lava lamp.strobe light, music sensored colored light boxes,Tuck& roll velvet headboard, king size bed.velvet curtains.swag lamps.egg shaped pedestal stereo,TV,&speakers with a few more regular "square speakers" My house mate had a on the floor water bed (they weren't making the pedestal type yet at least not available here) So for a young hippie pretty cool pad. If you think about it most of John Wayne's movies are pre 1970.
  8. I just used the quote button in this topic to test it.It worked for me so I don't know
  9. VanBuren &
  10. lazy8: Did you just do the test I tried to connect to the gamer site & couldn't .I have had this happen before & was told sometimes Van has his site offline.
  11. .s1: Then we would just have to hang that rope smoker.
  12. QwertyWI: I have regular dial-up I was just passing on what I had read about PPPoE.Try to go up the tech or management level at Verizon until you get an awnser they should know what they are selling you. This can be frustrating comunicating with any tech staff since so many are foreign. But this way you will know for sure what you have.If another member has the same connection as you it is probably the same but I would at least give a good try to get Verizon to tell you.Even get them to put it in writing after all you have a contract with them.Good Luck
  13. QwertyWI: I 'm sure not the expert on this so someone with experience could add to this .I think if it is PPPoE the MTU should be 1492.MTU-40=MSS is the formula .So 1452 should be the correct MSS.
  14. my post didn't make since to the yadda yadda yadda edit .so I edited mine too.
  15. Maybe a combination like a story&photo of Bill Gates stump breaking his horse.
  16. moonlord : Any news is pretty vague like I don't think you want the Farm&Ranch report
  17. dslr is ok but they are not very responsive to anything 56K.Just to get their tweak test to complete I have to put in ISDN instead of dial-up& 128 as the speed to get full results. It then gives as close to good information as its going to give if you use dial-up.I question the accuracy of the upload speed they report for my dial-up. At testmy I can do any of the tests although I usually select the top 2 because of dial-up.I have done the largest one before though I will repeat what CA3LE asked exactly what news?If you let him know what you want maybe he will add it. This is there speed test on my dial-up 2005-04-21 18:47:11 EST: 32 / 68 Your download speed : 33739 bps, or 32 kbps. A 4.1 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed is much faster than down.. have you tweaked? Your upload speed : 70052 bps, or 68 kbps.
  18. jackel235:I can tell that you are a newbie so this is just some general advice.Slow down on the tweaking stop doing every tweak you find.Try to find out what the tweak is supposed to do so you know what the probable end result will be. Write down your old settings so you can put your OS back like it was before a bad tweak specially if you get a complete crash.IMO
  19. Hey all: I don't know this or I wouldn't ask what about a big dish like a 10 foot dish? I know some people still use these for TV .How would they work for a satellite connection?
  20. Probably for upper class yuppies in Better Homes & Gardens magazine.Nothing like my parents house (I was only 17 in 1970).A couple of years later my first hippie pad sure looked a lot cooler man.
  21. I noticed too some of us use it & some of us need it.
  22. vetteman: Have you tried this specifically:I don't have XP I have ME.I had a simular problem but I only had 2 viruses my anti-avius program wouldn't remove in regular mode.I went to their forum(AVG) & got the instructions that I am giving you.My anti-virus is AVG but I don't see why this wouldn't work withanother av program.First you need two programs(freeware) you can download they are Stinger &CW Shredder.then start your system in safe mode. All this will be done in safe mode.Run your AV let it clean what it can,run CW Shredder,Run Stinger, then run your anti spyware program clean what it finds.Restart your PC to normal mode run your AV program to see if it finds any more viruses .In my case this cleaned them out.Maybe this would work for you.If not you could try AVG anti-virus program & follow the instructions again. You can try Ad-Aware. www.lavasoft.com I haven't used Hijack This so I don't know how well it works. Most of my info came from the AVG forum I would recomend you check it out .I got more information there when I had a problem.Since I did all this a the same time I really don't know exacyly what corrected the problem.I use Sygate firewall instead of Norton so I can't comment on it either. I think something is deleting the cookie from testmy is the reason for the "guest user".I use Spyware Blaster instead of Microsoft spynet. My system tests clean except for a few MRU's AdAware finds. I hope this helps. It sounds like someone is attacking you personally.Does your ISP block viruses I would seek their help
  23. I couldn't see the attachment either but I think the quote above might have been what the report was about.. Since I don't look or smell like either one I wasn't offended.
