LOL ,Roco maybe joining the 21st century
resopalrabotnick replied to Roco's topic in General Discussion
well, you should now be able to just run all comps off the router. once you do that you can also start setting up shared folders etc to be able to access files from one puter on another etc. -
is it consistent? might be your isp just upgraded packages. iy's been known to happen...
-
well, there's your problem... but seriously. have you tried looking for the error stated on the microsoft site itself? their knowledge base is pretty good.
-
turn your resolution down to 640x480. maybe you can see the cops then...
-
oh, ok, i didn't see the black helicopter.
-
this just goes to show that there is ongoing quality control here at tmn. had the porn stories been good noone would have said anything. they would have kept reading em. so spammers, next time you choose to do it pick some good stuff to post.
-
the fact i'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't watching me. and there is a copcar in the pic.
-
why does it look like the police car is illuminating the cannabis leaf from behind when the shadow is being cast from a light source in front of and above the leaf?

mrm. has anything been connected to the maddening pc via an ethernet cable and worked? if not, then grab one of the junker pc's and a hub if you have one, a crossover cable if you don't and worst case a straight cable if you have autosensing ports and connect one of the working boxes to the nonworking ones. now use the windows wizard to create a home network and see if the two boxes will talk to each other. if this works with two of the junker boxes but not with the reticent box then you know youare looking at something flaky with the lan on that one. -

hm. are you using the same cable and port on the router every time you connect it to a pc? does the lan port on the misbehaving pc really work (can you get a connection with it to the other comps?) -
petty much what i wanted to post. not too noisy, no kick, doesn't need too heavy a backstop, and will still kill bothersome rodents if need be. the .357 comment is kinda misplaced i think. that's some pretty heavy artillery, requires a hefty range setup and the ammo is muc more expensive than your basic .22 LR imnsho a nice bolt action .22 rifle is a great gun to teach kids basic shooting and safety skills on.
-
forget pellet. get yourself a nice .22 rifle. the ammo is dirt cheap and it's great for plinking and also a good varmint gun.

when you hook up the router to the pc via ethernet do you get a link light? can you ping it from the pc? (refer to the manual from the other thread as to what its standard ip after a reset is...) -

the owner will pobably be not all too happy about you futzing with the wiring on your own. talk to him and have a pro do it. (that also puts liability in his court)

Wireless Taser that literally kicks ass.
resopalrabotnick replied to tommie gorman's topic in General Discussion
no taser for me. get an old surplus m79 40mm 'nade launcher (the "blooper", because of the characteristic sound when firing) and some beanbag projectiles. -
you using ie or ff with pandora? it works fine for me in ie
-
the ground should be there. period. if it isn't, complain. if that doesn't do any good, threaten to bring it to the authorities attention.
-
oh, you're gonna get water all riled up all over again by offering alternatives to her offering. i find www.pandora.com great, as you get to have some control over the playlists.
-
while there are some suppressors that run a series circuit layout that stores the spike and releases it gradually that don't need a ground circuit to function i will figure you got the el cheapo brand that simply dumps any excess voltage onto the ground. this is of course, as php stated, rendered entirely useless by the state of your wiring. if indeed you have no grounded outlets in your apartment i would go ahead and contact the people responsible for this sad state and dispense merry hell on a democratic basis until this dangerous condition is resolved.

Can I share my Internet Connection through a Hub
resopalrabotnick replied to mrunclesam's topic in Make it Faster...
the tidier solution would be to hook up a router to the modem and then the following pcs to the router. however, if you don't want to invest in/install any new hardware (the router will cost you around 30 to 50 bucks) you can have one comp connect and use the windows connection sharing to let that computer operate as a router for the other computers in the network. the only disadvantage in that scenario is that the sharing comp has to be on in order for the other comps to surf. -
Why everyone should boycott Continental Airlines
resopalrabotnick replied to water's topic in General Discussion
i would think you have a fairly good chance of getting some money or vouchers out of the airline by calling their callcenter with the story and asking to be bumped up a supervisor or two. -
not to mention it breaks fire code regulations because more people end up in the stadium than are supposed to be...

you make them buy merch. right. anyway, good comment on news: so we're supposed to listen to stars like madonna about conserving energy when her house has the carbon dioxide footprint of 14000 people in the country where she bought her kid?
