if you have central HVAC you can just cut out the bottom of the case to match an HVAC vent and stand the case on one of them. just make sure it is blowing cool air at all times the pc is on. and make sure the air can leave the case so fresh cool air can enter. if you have split units, mount the pc components in an open case or not in a case at all and hang em on the ceiling in front of the room unit.

tommie, ems radio: emergency medical services radio. along with sherriff, police, fire and whatever and whover else uses official radio freqs. oh, wait, the bpl marketing dingbats say they have anti-interference-technology. wow! they have figured out how not to send a high freq signal over an unshielded carrier without turning it into an antenna? no. they just try to leave out all those parts of the freq spectrum that would bring the law down on 'em for jamming the hell out of air traffic control and police radios. the result? the already full frequency spectrum means that they have to 'skip' a lot of frequencies on their system. you might say "and?". well, all those freqs they can't use cut down their max speed.... as for the inhouse stuff: how is having a claimed 200 mbps connection in the houses power lines going to affect your internet connection speeds? mine didn't get faster when i changed my inhouse wireless from 11 to 54 mbps... maybe post a tweaking guide? should i replace my 100 mbps wired net with a gigabit net to achieve greater cable internet speeds?

way to resurrect a thread. -
the incident in the final along with the rest of the tournament (thank god i was spared all but the most unavoidable highlights on the news) just proves that those overpaid prima donnas playing soccer (and yes, there are some of those in every sport) don't have the spirit of a sportsman. saw a clip a while ago that showed how a blitzing linebacker broke joe theismans leg nastily. that was a cereer ending injury for him. after he tackled him and realized that theisman was injured he was the first one up and waving for the redskins' medical staff to get on the field. he seemed rather upset about the whole thing and went back to theisman to check on him. now that is true sportsmanship. play as hard as needed, within the rules, but don't lose your humanity. many pro sports nowadays have a distinct lack of this humanity. players climbing into the stands to beat up on fans? players fouling each other nastily? all too common for my taste.

i wish all of you that want to try bpl luck. and i'm sure you never liked your cordless phones, cellphones, baby monitors, wireless networking, garage door opener remotes, remote key fobs, EMS radio, radio, TV all that much anyway. the only thing BPL speeds up is your descent back into the stone age...

i just came to a very surprising conclusion....

did you forget to mention a teamspeak server running on the same box? -
if the board supports it and the 512 you have is already a dual channel stick be sure you buy one with identical or at least very close timing values so you can make use of the dual channel advantages.

how many people have access to that server? and how many of those have admin rights on the server? might there be someone running a warez repository on the side? -
i hope the italians take it. one thing the italians know how to do is celebrate a sports victory without taking it out of context. when schumacher was on top of his game watching the ferrari F1 celebrations was great. the french will just turn it into some national pride thing and be even more stuck up.

a blog page is such a reliable source of information. much better than actual government studies of the issue that come to the conclusion that the radio interference issues are just too great. why do you think that the broadband at the cost of everyone elses radio frequencies over powerlines people are "requesting changes to the rules" so they can comply with them? because the way the rules for radio interference are now there is no way that bpl can be legally operated.

the one sure way to avoid a hangover is: drumroll please... pause for dramatic effect... i'm sure i can make this post longer than one of waterrtbh's... stay drunk. and if you can remember the question you have obviously not been following this advice. cheers!

i believe you are thinking of july 14th. incidentally july is a good time to visit france if you enjoy fireworks. they start selling them for the 14th early, i spent two weeks plinking away and testing for the 14th when i put on a nice show at a relatives house. incidentally the swiss have their firework-themed shindig for the year on the first of august. my relatives there living near the border to switzerland meant that visiting geneva for that one was also but a hop skip and a jump away. (and the swiss allow fairlyu large rockets at the consumer level, which aided my july 14th display...)

add the business contact manager to the outlook if you have a use for it. even better.

and what exactly in that article makes you think earthlink wants to roll out a bpl project? they are setting up Wi-Fi networks. buried at the bottom of the article is a little blurb about a company that has received a total of about 130 million dollars from a variety of investors, among them earthlink. so lets say ten investors sharing that amount. that means that earthlink has invested 13 million dollars in broad spectrum radio jamming bpl. this tellsa me that they want to own part of the company should it become a success but do not plan on doing anything remotely like that themselves. (to me they seem to have much too much sense anyhow to try a harebrained scheme like that.)

what crack? the crack the managers were smoking that made them go ahead with the launch regardless of engineering concerns? -
now at least we know why outlook "grows" on you... but that is a helluva useful feature. i wonder if there is a way to say "lose all changes 6 months old and older" or something...

call cox. they will be able to tell you. (or should be, anyhow.)

kids, happy holiday and remember not to drink and drive. after imbibing some alcohol you will want to have both hands firmly on the bottle to prevent any spillage of precious alcohol, so you shouldn't be trying to grab any wheels or handlebars. (hooters are ok if she helps you to hold on to your liquor...)

How long have you gone without sleep?
resopalrabotnick replied to richcornucopia's topic in General Discussion
i made the mistake when i was young and stupid of driving while sleepless. i was tooling along the highway at 80. a long left turn came up. i kept going straight. i was a passenger in my own body, watching the car go onto the emergency lane, watching the guardrail come closer in the turn, not caring and still not turning. when i had about 10 inches left before i started putting door to guardrail the danger threshhold was reached and i pulled back into my lane. i pulled off at the next exit and slept a few hours. stay awake as long as you want, BUT STAY AWAY FROM CARS OR ANYTHING THAT RERQUIRES YOUR WITS ABOUT YOU! -
:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: The United Power Line Council (UPLC) forcefully replied to concerns about harmful interference from BPL in reply comments filed today, and urged the FCC to move forward quickly to develop rules that will encourage more development and deployment of BPL services to the public. so thgey want the fcc to change the rules so bpl can be used. uhuh. see this thread for info on bpl and why it is a bad idea. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-13729;all and i find their comments about amateur radio operators insulting. i am not one but i do have some military training in certain radio operations and what an "amateur" operator knows exceeds my limited skillset by far. they are amateurs by designation only. (remember all the disasters where ham radios where the first lines of communications available.)

i find the propaganda implications for whatever nutjob group managed to destroy the shuttle on the 4th of july to be terrible. that would really be a blow.
