if you have a cd-burner (cd writer), you can use CD-R (one time use only) and CD+RW (Re-Writables).. Those are the kinds of cd's I use in my old pc and its cd burner

cablenut is only a few mb in size, but oh well.. the values will stay in your registry until deleted manually or cleared by cablenut..

since you are using ME, i guess there is no system restore function.. Since you did not make a backup of the things you deleted, I would say that reformat is the only way to go unfortunately

you have two firewalls running at the same time.. Zone Alarm (vsmon.exe) and Computer Associates (ca.exe).. Please stop using one or uninstall one so there would be no conflicts.. I think that is the thing that has been causing u problems

i usually had this problem with opening large .tar files.. Winrar would load for 5 mins at a time and then stop using the cpu and hdd until i start to extract the files.. That happens every time to me and i dont know how to fix it.. Another problem I had was with explorer using 60mb of memory after opening a corrupt video file.. crazy stuff like that happens. when it gets slow, please run hijackthis and save a log file which you can later on post.. If you want as netmasta said, take a pic of your task manager sorted by CPU usage when its 100% and post it with or without the hijackthis log here

Dual channel means 2 dual channel memory chips installed in same color slots.. If you have only one mem stick (like I do ), it is going to run single channel on half the speed (my max frequency is 333mhz, right now on single channel i only got 166mhz).. I would not think that you need same brand and model mem sticks for them to work in dual channel mode, but both of them have to support dual channel mode.. However, if you want no errors, the best thing is to get same brand + model sticks

I just have a minor problem with Java.. Since updating to the latest version 1.5.0_04 (i think i had 1.5.0_01 or _02 before), whenever I exit a game room on pogo.com games, sometimes my browser just hangs up for a couple of minutes at a time even.. Anyone have a solution to this problem? I have tried uninstalling previous versions of Java I have (both 1.5.0_02 and 1.5.0_04) and then installing the latest one again, but the problem is still there.. Is this a problem with the Java environment or is it something to do with my software configuration? Thanks in advance

I would guess it is something from the mouse since when u cleaned it, the problem went away for a while.. If it was spyware or software related, then it would not have been better for those 5 mins.. Did you try using a different mouse and see what happens?

And if Mcafee has the firewall, you should uninstall it or Zone Alarm because it is not good to have 2 firewalls running at the same time..

You can just get VLC Media Player which has those plugins built in.. It even plays incomplete media files

if you are talking about router, go to this webpage.. it has guides to port-forwarding and opening to most routers and its real easy

since speed is not a problem, one website said that some clients auto-update themselves during gameplay therefore slowing down the internet connection.. maybe the servers that you connect to are slow or are very far away from you, therefore having higher ping times..

What are your advertised speeds? How fast are your download tests? Post one, so we can see whether the connection is getting its full potential.. Maybe its something from the line
