....i get 2mb over my cap, but thats not the point im gonna show off a different kind of a score and share my experience couple of monhts back I was working on overclocking my Amd 3700+ 64bit processor - that didnt go too well - i couldnt achieve stability past 3.0GHz (the processor runs stock at 2.2GHz) since the software that I use for monitoring the voltage and temperature was not very precise (...very common) so i decided - im gonna take a program like mbm and hack it up and make it help my overclock - since then, i have measured all rail voltages with a DMM, i have measured all temperatures with a self made temp. probe device and an infrared thermometer - I have added the necessary offset to the programs and now they all display the correct temperature/voltage *I have also measured vcore directly on the motherboard - which has helped me a lot I have also taken the liberty from taking every single fan lead and disconnnecting it from the motherboard (to further my stability) - hooked it up to a modified fan controller and here are my results after a month of testing and what not.... 2.72Ghnz @ 1.36 vcore (undervolted !!!) 248MHz fsb X 11 multiplier (i use 4 for the fsb/ldt ratio multiplier) ram is running 1:1 with the fsb @ 496MHz idle temperature is 26c and full load temperature is 37c The setup is completely stable (tested and confirmed) - my actual goal is to hit ~3.0 on air and maybe try 3.2-3.3 when ocz cryo comes out

On the wired part, having a router hasnt really changed anything 5mb plan ! 2mb over cap  :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 6899 Kbps about 6.9 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 842 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (main) Test Time:: 2006/03/21 - 1:25pm Bottom Line:: 123X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 1.22 sec Tested from a 12160 kB file and took 14.438 seconds to complete Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727) Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 58.31 % faster than the average for host (cox.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-KDL95JP6I On the wireless part, however, i assume that it might be because of the signal strength, is 2.5mb - although it isnt as important since that other comp really doesnt require anything faster

what level do you recommend since you are the person who recommended dd-wrt
-
to run a discussion forum you do not need anything special - you will need the basic database/php support which most hosts offer testmy.net is currently running SMF forum (simplemachines.org) which is easy to maintain and setup the kind of hosting you would need for a discussion board you can get for less than $5 dollars per month, with enough storage and bandwidth

....I have just now upgraded to dd-wrt firmware (version 2.3 i believe) - im using a linksys wrt54g router (version 3.1) is there an option in the dd-wrt firmware that will allow me to increase the strengh of the signal that is broadcasted to my wireless adapter - and what would be a safe increase !? - anything else i could do to make my signal as strong as it can be !?

Are you a tech at some copmany !? - cuz I feel we should get a share of your pay
-
sure it does - it just isnt a whole number

its very unlikely that something came loose - plug it into a different power socket, and make sure the power supply button is in the on position
-

you should have a firewall running regardless of whether you have an antivirus -
The botnet is thought to have consisted of 13,000 to 50,000 infected machines which were controlled over IRC. I mean you gotta love this part - they could have as well stated: it consisted of anywhere betwween 1-20,000 computers LOL

And yes - frys electronics is actually selling the V5 of the wrt54g - luckily, in the stack of like 200 modems i accidently found a version 3.1 modem grabbed it right away and bought it - ....might have been the only one they have hehehehe which firmware do you recommend for it ?
-
you really have to have talent and a freakin good sense of direction to be able to draw that
-

didnt they already combine ?
-
no worries - these cards are an overkill anyway
