I just want to show a little praise for a couple of new additions to my computer. I recently started hearing a crying sound coming from my video card. Being that it's a fairly expensive Asus Radeon X800XL (not too expensive anymore.. but it was stupid expensive when I got it so I want to take care of it). So I looked into new fans... I ended up with the ARCTIC COOLING AVC-AT5 (see it at newegg). It setup fairly easy, I did have to cut off the old plug and splice it to the new fans cord because the plug they provided was the wrong type. I don't have software to tell me what the temp is but I'm sure it's way cooler than before, especially since it now vents to the outside of the case... I will have to overclock it now .
BUT! The best part is what I bought after I picked out the video card cooling.
Second... the new CPU cooler. My CPU in the past has idled as high as 65 First... the new video card cooler.

Monitoring over a period of time

wow, mac has servers.. crazy. That must be a headache! I wonder how fast and reliable they are compared to windows and linux... -
The score database browser (the portion of the stats that shows details for tests taken) has been rewriten, users can now see exact test times along with a few other changes... enjoy, and look forward to this getting even better over the next following months. - Damon

This tool has been further refined and added to the misc tools section of the main menu. I'm sure there will be more work done to this. -
I moved the forum database to a different server to clear up some database errors. Please note that posts made between the transfer have been lost, it's only a few posts so I'm not to concerned about it... sorry if you were effected. The SMF errors should be nonexistent now - thanks for your patience and enjoy the more reliable functionality of the site. - Damon

by the way... when I redo the score database (pretty soon) the test time will be stored in the database instead of just the date -

Alright... I whipped something up real fast.. let me know if this helps The 1 in the URL is the frequency in hours, the minimum refresh time is 1/2 hour or 0.5.... if you change it to 3 it will re-test every three hours... and so on. http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/scheduled_test.php -

I know how I can make sure bandwidth doesn't get out of hand.... I will make it a tool only available to registered members -

I have been rolling this idea around in my head for a while now, it would be a page that you can go to that you would basically leave open and you tell it how often to test and it runes the test automatically...... I'm just wondering if bandwidth would become even more of an issue than it already is. Tell you what, I don't think this will be to hard for me to make real fast... give it a test and see how it does. Give me a few days, if I don't report back to this thread send me a private message as a reminder. -D -
first of all.... does your motherboard you have now have PCI express? That card is PCIe -- I would personally get a new motherboard first, then move up from there, if you are an Intel guy I would highly reccomend the board that I have, the Asus P5WD2 Premium, nice chipset and great features. But you would need a PCIexpress video card (or PCI) and a LGA 775 processor (Like a pentium D) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131589) -- the board is a nice backbone for a rock solid computer... but would be an expensive build. Let me know the processor type you have or that you plan on getting and I will give you a good recommendation as to what you should get. I build at least 5 computers a month so you can trust my judgment By the way, screw Nvidia... get ATI -- save yourself some money and get extra power

I may be creating a test that does this automatically for members in the near future. It would most likely be a page that you would leave open (minimized) and would run a test every hour or so..... just wanted to let you know that this IS something that's being looked at. I actually used to have something like this a looooong time ago, in like 2001... although it was very primitive. Just keep visiting, when it becomes availible it will be posted on the front page for everyone to hear about. For now, you'll just have to come to the site every so often and run a test. Check out your stats http://www.testmy.net/stats/u-vudutu (by the way, there aren't many stats for you because you just signed up on the 8th, if you pull it up by your compID you will see more stats from before you signed up http://www.testmy.net/stats/comp-198578279598 --- but now that you're signed up it's best to stay logged in because the stats for you while you're logged in will stay in the database the stats while your not logged in are flushed every two months) or Check out my stats http://www.testmy.net/stats/u-CA3LE
