1. at least this was a popular topic.. haha If Schwassmann-Wachmann were to hit Earth... it wouldn't be just a Tsunami on one coast, if it hit the ocean it would send a wave over 1 mile high around the earth many time over... at the speed of sound. But I'm going to assume that the person that made this prediction wasn't predicting that the entire comet hit earth, just a peice of it. I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that we will all make it through today... lol

6. Guide written by S7R1D3R Ok hello everyone I am S7R1D3R, and I am here to show you how to make a decent sig, well here we go: 1. Download The Gimp, 100% Free, install it. http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html remember to also download the GTK + Runtime environment, necessary for The Gimp to run. 2. Choose a render, you can get them from these websites: http://www.clantemplates.com http://www.planetrenders.net/renders/index.php http://render-world.com 3. Font, you can get fonts from: http://www.dafont.com *installation instructions: extract to "C:WINDOWSFonts 4. Brushes, the most important thing: http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/applications/gimpbrushes/ *installation instructions: extract to "C:Program FilesGIMP-2.0sharegimp2.0brushes" ---------------S7R1D3R's Sig Guide Overview------------------ This is a guide for making a custom sig with The Gimp 2.0, The GiMP is a freeware program that is like a substitution for Photoshop, because Photoshop isn't free. All credit for this guide goes to S7R1D3R, saying that you made this guide is just plain wrong, well now that you have all the materials necessary let's begin. ---------------S7R1D3R's Sig Guide----------------- First make a new page with the size of 400x125 as shown below: Next step, select the paintbrush option and select your custom brush (to access your brushes go to File>Dialogs>Brushes): Now the next thing you want to do is paint your new image with your custom brushes until you feel comfortable with it, remember to paint it black. Now, make a new layer named Pasted Layer or something like that, with the same dimensions as your Background(to make a new layer go to Layer>NewLayer): Next, we need a render, open a render that you saved from the sites listed above (File>Open): Now select your render and open it, next we want to resize the image so it can fit nicely into the Sig you are making, (Image>Scale Image): ONLY RESIZE THE HEIGHT to 200 leave the width alone, the width will automatically configure: Now that it is smaller you want to copy it and paste it into your Sig: remember to paste it into your Pasted Layer. move it around a bit till you get the perfect spot, remember to leave space for your name Next go back to your Background Layer, once your background layer is selected Color balance it (Tools>Color Tools> Color Balance): Now move around the settings until you get the color you want: Ok now your Sig should look like this: Now select your paintbrush and paint again on the background layer until you get it just right (you can paint this one with whatever color you want): Now Click on Text and use a custom font to write whatever you want: Next position your text by selecting your Move Tool: Now your sig should look something like this: Now select your pasted layer and change the mode because you dont want your picture to stand out you want it to blend in (different modes for different pitures): Now your sig looks looks a little like this: Now time to save the Sig, (FIle>SaveAs): Now follow these steps: name it whatever you want and save as JPEG format, then just click save: Then this will pop up: Just click Export and then click OK Then your Sig will look like this: Now you have your perfect Sig ------------------S7R1D3R's Sig Guide Credits------------------ Everything on here was put together by me, S7R1D3R, but there are people I would personally like to thank. Special Thanks to: ROM-DOS for making it all happen, to everyone I have made sigs for supporting me, and of course the best place to be: www.testmy.net Created on May 15, 2006
7. This is some quick information for Firefox users that you may not already know. If you're having a problem with Firefox uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox may not correct the problem you're having. Whether it be a bug, fouled plug-in, incorrect extensions or just a plain 'ol screwed up install in allot of cases a reinstall will not correct anything. The reason being Firefox retains your personal customized information (home url, font sizes, plugins, etc...). This is what I consider a bug in Firefox's mentality and I recently ran into this bug when I was trying to repair broken bookmarks in my own install of Firefox 1.5.0.3. (Out of nowhere my bookmarks were gone and no more bookmarks could be saved). When I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox upon opening after the install I noticed that everything was exactly how it was before the uninstall. I then ran through the uninstall process again, this time deleting the C:Program FilesMozilla Firefox directory from my computer. Again, after reinstalling Firefox I came across the same issues. I then used the Firefox recovery switch in the command line.. this restored the defualts and repaired my problem. To use Firefox in safe mode (recovery) you need to First.. close ALL Firefox windows... ALL of them, you may want to copy this text and/or save this web address so you cen reference this article again if needed. (the direct and condensed URL to this post is www.testmy.net/forum/t-14183 -- ) Then go to [start] then [run] and type the following "C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe" -safe-mode You will then get the following dialog box --- Check all of the options you would like to reset and your DONE ... At least in my case this took care of the problem perfectly -D
8. yeah, that host is way fast http://www.testmy.net/stats/host-ccisd.net
9. You may want to try re-installing some codecs -- it may be a codec error. Try Nemo Codec Pack .. >> http://nimo.titanesk.com/modules/freecontent/index.php?id=1
10. That would be pimp Yeah, still waiting on mine too
11. If someone were to post kiddy-porn ... they would be fucked.. haha, their IP and any other information I could extract would be on an officers desk in minutes -- hacks, well depending on the severity.. I will sometimes warn (not tell cops), always ban and if it's repeated or really bad... I submit it to FBI's website that has an online form you can fill out to report hackers, the times I've had to use this........ well, let's just say that the hacking attempts stopped --- actually, I get hacking attempts just about every day... but I run allot of my important services on non-standard ports and my passwords are too hard to brute force (they always try to brute-force ... tards)... they can keep knockin' but they can't get in. MU-HAHAHA :haha:
12. by the way.. I will discuss this in our private mods section some time this week -- see what the other mods think about this, I don't think all of them have noticed the thread.
13. Flashy ads wouldn't benefit this site in the least bit... sites that have flashy ads generally (1) don't expect to see their visitors every again (2) don't have real content... [meaning they have images, videos, animations... myspace, lol]... these sites usually only make money in VERY high volume, serving 100's of millions of banner impressions... my impressions are well into the millions but not the 100 millions --- a site like testmy.net, which has a shit load of text based content usually fairs better with text ads. So, the reason I don't have flashy ads is not only because I want to retain my guests.. it's because the site will generate more revenue.
14. Do you run numion.com? Right on...

18. I'm just using it as more desktop space... I can drag windows and icons over to the other monitor. You can kinda see what I'm talking about in the 2nd picture.... There are other ways you can set it up.. but I'm extending my desktop in the setup I'm using.
19. that was the last time I saw onetoo... wait that was also the first time.. haha
20. is it in one huge bar like that? And is it brand name?
21. My video card has Dual-DVI on it --- your video card has to support it, or you can use more than one video card.. but to do that your motherboard has to support it or you have to use PCI video cards.
22. Does anyone else have dual, tri or quad monitor setups? Share with us! Post your pictures in this thread.
I just want to show off - I recently reformatted and cleaned a friends computer, he decided he wanted a new monitor. I was going to order him a new monitor but he said he would rather buy my old monitor because he knew I was going to buy myself a new 19" soon. So I ordered myself the new 19" LCD SAMSUNG 940B for $297 (with shipping and everything, from newegg) and gave him my old 17" LCD Viewsonic VP171B for $200 (a veeeery nice 17" by the way). After I installed his freshly formatted computer and monitor he told me that I could keep his old monitor... so I just setup dual monitors... To bad the monitor he gave me is a crappy 17" Envision EN-7100S LCD with major color, brightness and contrast problems... but it's better than no dual setup. I can already tell that this setup is going to help my productivity. Pictures below. What I would really like to have is two or three more of those 19" SAMSUNG 940B. That would look SICK because the border is so thin on them (and the color and contrast is killer also) There is actually a company that sells a stand that holds your choice of three or four of them... and this monitor happens to have the screw holes for the VESA mounts so it's ready for action - Long story short, I HIGHLY reccomend getting the SAMSUNG 940B if your in the market for a great, affordable 19" LCD; Samsung makes great LCDs and the last 10 that I've ordered (I build computers for friends often) have had ZERO dead pixels... if you're looking for a 17" then go for the SAMSUNG 740B, but for only $60 differnece you might as well get the 19"
DSCF2310.jpg DSCF2316.JPG DSCF2318.JPG
