I can build something like that.... Correct me if I'm wrong... you want it set up to do a little quick test before the user enters your site, the info will then be logged either to our database server or have the option to log to your server... you can then tell from that data how many users are on broadband, you may also want the option to send the broadband users to a different section of the website upon completion of the test... I used to offer something like that, but it was a very simple script. It just forwarded boradband users to one place and slower users to another... the logging of the data would be a great addition. I will keep this in mind, I have a huge list of things I will need to finish before I could start another project. But this could be a great tool for webmasters to use.

Thank you... This is my 5th Fathers Day, my son just called me to wish me a happy fathers day... awwwwww

Yeah it was entered a couple of times as simply $affadd -- outside of an echo string -- needed to be <?php print_r($affadd); ?> --- it's so that if you choose "Include Mirrors" it will call another script...
-
Just a little script error on my part (due to an update I made on the 10th) It's fixed (it was the 7 day stats link by the way) Thank you for the error report...

Did you ever see the game? It was the most retarded translation in the history of games, books, movies or anything... ever.

I'll put that poll up fairly soon ~~ I may do one for the download test too and make it public for even non-members to vote and show it on the front page ~~ couple of days max, I have it written down as something I need to do

Alright... now I'm scratching my head. I un-installed a few things on my machine and now in IE I test perfect... still no luck in firefox (still getting about 75-77 kB/s) Main thing I was doing was un-installing McAfee VirusScan Enterprise (to see if that may have been the problem on my own machine... because we already know that this isn't happening on all machines). Well I uninstalled and tested and sure enough it tested perfect. But then again I hadn't tested the upload test in IE before the uninstall today. (my bad.. now I don't have a control test). --- Okay, so I got all excited... "well it must be the virus scan messing it up" - so I tested a few more times and also tested in FireFox. FireFox tested bad still. So I re-installed the McAfee and retested... in IE I still got perfect results, so I restarted the browser... still got perfect results, so I rebooted... still got perfect results. Now my mistake was that I uninstalled a few other programs (hell I was in there and noticed a few programs I didn't need anymore) so as far as I know it could have been one of those programs being uninstalled that fixed it... AHHHHH. Well, it now works great for me as long as I use Internet Explorer so I have added a little note to the upload test page stating that connections over 512 Kbps should use IE for the time being. Keep in mind guys that I haven't given up, I do plan on rewriting the upload speed test to be accurate no matter what browser you use... I just need to figure out a method to do it without using ActiveX, plug-ins or Java Applets... when a user tests here (as I have stated from day one at this site) I want them to be able to test without having to download anything... I want someone with a 'stock' browser on a cleanly formatted machine to be able to test without hassle... doing it this way isn't easy. ... here are my notes from my tests :::.. Thanks fred, you are truly an original member (number 55)... you don't post often, but you do come here often and I'm sure you've told people. As always I thank you all for your support, there is much more this site will offer in the following years. I hope many of you will at least check back on the progress. The sites participation is already more than I could handle on my own, thank god for the mods and admins. This project has grown much bigger than I could have ever imagined. BTW fred.. love your sig "follow instructions, it makes your life so much easier" ~~ that's friggen awesome. -
I think I'm going to run a poll pretty soon to see how many of our users are getting the correct results with the upload test... I wish I could physically sit at a computer that it getting the correct speeds to see what the deal is, right now this is very hard to diagnose.

by the way... I didn't mean for that ^^^^ to come off like I'm being rude... haha, I meant to type more but I was doing other stuff and went back to it and just hit submit... read it a minute later and realized it may have sounded rude ~~ didn't mean to
