  2. Well to be sure , the run up to St.Patricks day has not been a happy one for Ireland , the country is in mourning , The first secaterian Killings in over 10 years happend this week , 2 British soldiers and an Irish Police officer were gunned down , but it looks like the peace is holding , I think nobody wants to go back to the troubles
  3. great one coknuck , I once held an American Eagle at a bird show in the UK . a very proud bird and a great flier , ( well much better than me for sure ) in my own way I rescued a abandoned UK black bird ( last to leave the nest ) and wide open to cat attack, that was 5 years back , now I get his offspring to hand feed , although as they should be , free to fly anytime , some days I dont feed , just to keep them wild and self sufficient , the Pic is of a male in the spring , and ready to breed , (the yellow around the eyes ) good job us guys dont get that tell tale sign , orv the forum would be empty of females
  4. Thanks for asking Coknuck , Kinda low in spirits of late , This last UK winter nearly did for me, worst we have had for 20 years , and back then I was a mere kid , but I did build a snowoman , but as my married neighbour pointed out I had put the pointy sticky out bits on the back , well hell, I was building from memory ! I guess I need to get out more ?

  9. I voted "in denial ", so I didn't post a comment and claim my right to silence
  10. Off topic ? Re: How many are TMN addicts?? , I just go to TMN forum as my home page , only to catch up with all the gossip then like a good news anchor I move on to the BBC UK news , BTW any chance you two going to marry ? , hell it's better than watching the soaps on TV ,
  11. always found the old stuff is best , Btw I just been setting up a new laptop with vista installed . well a first for me , and I guess like the Harley , I am born to run in the past , I finaly got XP pro. under controll, , so vista passed me by , Win 7 may go ther same route, hell I got friends on 98, P.s. any news on the Titanic , its overdue in New York LOL back space for me is http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jP-s3OqCGhA
  12. Thanks Pixie , as long as the sun rises I will remain a juvinle retard, it's a simpler way of life IMHO.
  13. I like them free and easy , a good start off tool , you could have a look at http://www.blackviper.com/ , but I would sugest you print off the services list for your O/S , and note what you have running now , make a restore point before making any changes , the ideal is to get as few as possible procceses running with a usable computer , I got 36 runing at the moment , BTW "I sitting behind my mothers computer and it is very slow." if it ain't your computer be carefull , nothing is garenteed , apart from a thick ear from Mom if it goes wrong edit to add my screen shot
  14. I have found this tool very usefull http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx, ,
  15. Hey Coknuch, that ain't your G/f ??? if it is she has an invite for my next one Thanks all , I( was kinda keeping it a secret , well S**t happens, another year older , but thankfuly no signs of getting wiser as the say age brings wisdom ,and age leads to the next world , so from now on I am back pedaling fast , Today I built my snow person , I think I got it right , but I had to have some help with the memory from my neighbour Sharon "Hey those bits go on the front" ,
  16. Thanks all , well I had some special plans for today , ( pop up cake girl ) but she is snowed in like me , I have indeed droped back on plan #2 , soon as I can get the door open I am going to build me a snow woman ,
  17. nothing I can add , the guys have said what I was thinking , it will pass by , and you wil come out the other side wiser , and funny enough a better person with a greater understanding of life , as mudmanc said " we've all been there one time or another,"
  18. I guess he's blown his next years bonus !, but in some ways it ain't funny , every time this sort of thing happens , the average Joe finds it makes his life more complicated , Buisness trust kinda evaporates , my lawyer took my word I had $80,000 availble and they coverd cost , just on my say so , I doubt they would ever do that again now , scams F**k up everybody IMHO
  19. thanks , and I will try and spell your name right next time I am skipping Vista , but I might go for win 7 , and if forced may even pay for it , and that would be a first for me BTW, my Xp pro is ligit , it was a gift from adoring female fans , and not one under 65 years , bless them , P.s , looks like is only for Xp ? , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BootVis although I disagree about it not helping home users , it works for me ,you can do a trace B4 and after , it lops off about 5 seconds for me , but the + 5secs returns after a time , I use it about once a month or so , when I do a big clean up session on my puter , LOL my "c" drive has only 6.25|Gb used , lean and clean is my motto edit to correct link ?
  20. Hi Coknuc, sorry I couldn't get your script to work on Xp. (script error ) I use Microsoft's Boot vis , it gives great detail and a optimise option , but I guess its how you judge a restart to have completed , I get to a working Desktop in around 20 seconds ,shown by the red line with a cube on top , and certainly ready to go in under 30 seconds , my secrete is in the task manager Pic , 29 running processes , including software firewall ,AVG , desk top calender , wallpaper changer and net meter my puter is a lowly 2.6Ghz dual core Athlon with 2Gb of mem.
  21. http://news.bbc.co.uk/ http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7840880.stm well ,over here in The UK , this speach went down well , and to be honest "the enemy refered to England at the time, as it was the only true homeland threat you have ever faced , when the defeated English Robin Redbreast army marched out with full military honours ,they played "the world turned upside down " maybe it is that time again , a time of change , give the guy a chance , only time will tell I guess , but in my opinion it is time for change , the world is already "turned up side down " Regards Roco ...UK edit: fixed duplicate posts
  22. Xp had a boot problem ? , never saw that myself , I run a mediocre AMD dual core 2.8 it loads in under 30 seconds , and don't need 4Gb of memory to haul its ass ,
  23. Tdawnaz , I couldn't help but notice the UK got mentioned last, (sigh, my dreams have been ground in the dust again ,} back to night school for me I guess ,( Parley vous francais, anyone ? ) joking aside , (maybe not ? ) a pin in the nearest town/county/country is enough , the TMN heavy mob won't be visiting , and hell it's optinal , BTW, I am a Inuvialuit from Amundsen Gulf ,.but I sneezed while sticking my pin , Edit: Fixed Post
  24. So how many home folk are running liquid nitrogen for cooling, ? indeed Blako is right enough , from my own limited home user experience , if with aircooling you can get to within +10 C of ambient you are doing OK , with water cooling maybe within + 5C , and thats not using a chiller for the water , any readings outside that range I would expect it to be a sensor or program error , the old tried and tested way was to grip the heatsink body , if it felt cool it was OK, if warm to touch again ok , if you couldn't hold it , you had a problem , .
  25. I agree , air cooling cannot run a lower temp. than the ambient (room) temp , no matter how much air you blow at it , or how big the fins are , best prog I have found is http://www.filehippo.com/download_speedfan/
