interesting, the first hop outside your LAN is timing out... it could very well be an issue in your neighborhood or your cable modem just not responding to the ICMP packet. the timeout at hop 13 is completely normal btw even my trace has it Tracing route to testmy.net [174.120.187.140] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 8 ms 7 ms 8 ms 10.146.192.1 2 9 ms 18 ms 11 ms 68.2.8.17 3 10 ms 11 ms 9 ms 70.169.75.84 4 12 ms 11 ms 9 ms 72.214.144.69 5 22 ms 23 ms 22 ms langbprj01-ae2.rd.la.cox.net [68.1.1.17] 6 43 ms 30 ms 36 ms xe-2-3-0.cr1.lax112.us.above.net [64.125.31.190] 7 48 ms 48 ms 73 ms xe-2-0-0.cr1.iah1.us.above.net [64.125.25.46] 8 45 ms 51 ms 70 ms xe-2-1-0.cr1.dfw2.us.above.net [64.125.30.58] 9 46 ms 45 ms 44 ms xe-0-1-0.er1.dfw2.us.above.net [64.125.27.74] 10 48 ms 45 ms 45 ms 64.125.199.94.t366.above.net [64.125.199.94] 11 45 ms 45 ms 46 ms te9-1.dsr01.dllstx3.networklayer.com [70.87.253.6] 12 * * * Request timed out. 13 48 ms 58 ms 54 ms a.ff.5746.static.theplanet.com [70.87.255.10] 14 46 ms 48 ms 47 ms 8c.bb.78ae.static.theplanet.com [174.120.187.140] Trace complete.

i'm not sure about everyone else but i was just joking about the storage, i think its great and i wish i had something like that in my closet, its just not feasable for me at the moment but who knows give me some time and i might have my own rack in my house once i own one lol ~ TriRan

i disabled xcache yesterday because i discovered it was causing heavy load on my server, sometimes spiking the cpu into the 2.00 range when loading a webpage so i switched to zend temporarily because i know it works fine with worker edit: thanks dlewis23 for recommending eAccelerator, i compiled it a few moments ago restarted apache and couldn't be happier with its performance btw it works like a dream with worker even handling 950 Requests a minute (15.8 requests every second) i was still seeing page load times of .44 seconds... i'm sure thats more load then my server will ever see. so under no load at all i'm seeing .15-.22 load times thanks again ~ TriRan

sure you do! its these ones <IfModule prefork.c> StartServers 8 MinSpareServers 5 MaxSpareServers 12 ServerLimit 50 MaxClients 50 MaxRequestsPerChild 4000 </IfModule> <IfModule worker.c> StartServers 6 MaxClients 150 MinSpareThreads 25 MaxSpareThreads 75 ThreadsPerChild 25 MaxRequestsPerChild 0 </IfModule>

yeah T i saw that but i don't know what his advertised speeds are he could be advertised 30Mbit for all we know lol edit: after looking on their website i'm assuming he has their preferred which is 8/1 service if thats true without any tweaking hes getting near 90% of his advertised >.< he did two tests one at 5.1Mbps and the 2nd at 7.05Mbps which is 90% of advertised
-
lol we're talking about apache modules, mpm_worker.c and mpm_prefork.c and how the the php optimization modules work with the two
-
also if it's failing half way through it's probably because the connection is timing out between you and the server which could be a modem or service issue
-
Denny025, this site uses a completely different testing method then every other site out there. it will detect incorrect settings that flash based tests will not. flash based tests show you your ideal speed under perfect circumstances so once your results here match the flash you know your golden. have you tried tuning your rwin values or using TCPOptimzer? also what is your advertised speed? i'll be more then happy to help you solve this issue as i'm sure other people here will too ~ TriRan

yeah i wanted to be able to handle fairly high load so i'm using worker with lighthttpd atm
-
interesting i might have to try that one out, does it work well with worker? or only prefork?
-
Atm xcache but I'm thinking of switching
-
you know, i just thought of something >.> in the past when i've changed congestion control provider, ECN Capability and windows scaling hueristics it's made some websites and programs act wonky you might try messing with these also there is nagling to mess with too
-
aint that the truth?
-
I do! I use that word all the time but I'm usually calling myself a noob more then other people because there is still so much more I have to learn about technology Welcome to the site!
-
who is your provider? most providers will grandfather your unlimited 3G into unlimited 4G when you upgrade, as far as they are concerned there is no difference
-
i don't think there are many changes we can make that will really help to much but you are more then welcome to try, i will assist in any way i can for starters read this post: https://testmy.net/ipb/topic/934-vanburen-testmynet-cablenut-settings/ and this one: https://testmy.net/ipb/topic/1984-sticky-stop-before-you-post-your-problems-read-this/ try some of the things listed in those posts, i'd start with downloading TCPOptimizer ~ TriRan

but that makes it to easy!
-
EVDO is essientially 3G service you'd see speeds like 3-4Mbit down at max
-
lol yes for my avatar

i like the look and function a lot! but.... now i have to dig through the CSS again to find the background color
-
i think thats where the problem is, your using wireless internet or tethering via your phone which would be the same... also this site is based in Dallas, Texas. which is quite some distance from you
