  1. i agree with CA3LE you can't get a more clean, stable OS then linux i believe i win! ( or something )
  2. i doubt i could find much better since they're putting I7's in the IMac's now and thats pretty much the best you can go atm but i could probably find equivalent hardware for less
  3. i know there are games for the mac just not games i play, games like BF3, MW2, Diablo 3 don't have mac versions and most of the time when a game has mac versions you suffer because the patches are never released at the same time as the windows counterparts i'm not saying all games are like that but just some i've seen in my experience gaming so far
  4. No problem Tim, Glad it all worked out (sort of) let us know if you have any more questions TriRan
  5. Welcome Tim, your downstream looks real good
  6. thats because your getting a mix of the CG animation which is not gameplay footage and then actual gameplay footage all games do that the CG will look amazing and then the game will be.... bleh
  7. it looks good, whats the release date?
  8. some of those are just standard tcp/ip modules that are installed on every windows computer with the exception of the Symantic Network Security Intermediate Filter Driver ( that one is from norton's internet security i imagine its a firewall ) other than that one nothing to be alarmed about try http://10.0.0.1 thats common for a dsl modem, with an old router i had, my router couldn't automaticly reroute me to the modems page because they were on different subnets. try plugging your computer directly into the modem/router to configure it, it will be a lot easier to find your routers config page that way. once you connect directly to the modem/router in your local area network connection status you can see the gateway which is your modem/router and should be able to connect to that local ip in your browser assuming your on windows XP go to the control panel > network connections here are some walk through's once you get there right click hit status click details and there you have it!
  9. reminds me of BBR forums where i've seen cox tech's post on customers issues
  10. like it! and i totally know how you guys feel with having only 1 sub-par ISP as an option, i came from a town of 400 and there was only 1 DSL provider it was either them or satillite i was paying $50/mo for what started out at 1Mbps/1Mbps and then went to 3Mbps/128Kbps at that point i promptly called and asked to have my upload increased i had to give them reasons why and i had a very long list they bumped my upload to 768Kbps so i was at 3Mbps/768Kbps for about a year and then for the final year i got bumped to 8Mbps/1.5Mbps keep in mind these were all just advertised speeds that i could see the modem sync up at, which i never actually saw.... did i mention they were using the modem/router itself to block ports and were just locking them and using remote access on the modem. nothing a simple reset to default couldn't cure to open any port i wanted the ISP actually got angry with me when they found out i replaced their crappy modem/router combo with a very reliable Zoom ADSL modem i got from amazon lol they threatened to terminate my service in any case there are just to many of these small ISPs out there offering this type of crummy service i wish there was more that could be done ~ Mark
  11. i'm not sure if i've ever posted my mug but uhhh me playing a gig lol that was one late night me after a late night >.<

    ssh

yeah, that would do it too. however ipv4 ips are in short supply atm and are not the cheapest thing to add to a plan anymore
  14. TriRan

    ssh

yeah i had a few failed logins on ftp aswell they were really trying hard till i caught them and blocked all 4 of the ips used to do it
  15. TriRan

    ssh

haha i just noticed something sort of funny.. well it's funny now after the fact. i've already dealt with the situation but while setting up my server i had a long very long list of failed SSH attempts like 500 failed attempts in just one day. guess that goes to show you that you shouldn't use the default port for something like that lol ~ Mark
  16. lol i'm in the same boat as far as not knowing much about the lawsuits, i love apple but gosh i think they are being just a tad greedy. who ever said you needed to know what you were talking about?
  17. lol!! apple is sueing HTC for using the object orientation system, i guess apple is the only one who can make the screen adjust to the way your holding the device? o.O man apple is going a little crazy what if IBM said no apple you can't build computers because they were our idea first? and apple is sueing htc for the touch screen rotfl
  18. Welcome to the forum Drea, i feel you. my old ISP had a monopoly over my area too offering subpar service especially for what they charge
  19. well i don't like samsung phones anyway and the Galaxy S does look just like the old iphone3 lol why are they sueing HTC?
  20. Isn't apple saying they developed the first touch screen? That's like Samsung saying they should be the only one to manufacture tvs lol just an example I'm not saying Samsung made the first tv or anything but as long as it's not an exact copy of the technology who cares??
  21. same for me, chrome still gives me better results then firefox 6 atm
  22. I'm not sure but it's worth a google
