intel = good for program processing amd = good for gaming ^^ IMHO!

If you can keep your computer up for an hour without the internet, I don't think it would be a power supply or anything hardware related. Before you connect to the net, check your running processes. If anything looks odd, try to end that process. If that process doesn't end, reboot in safe mode, and scan the registry for that process. Be careful scanning the registry though, you could really mess up your system.

I think it's on a fiber connection. My school runs fiber and we got similar speeds. look down, and see my speed. That is my school download speed.

It seems like I have seen this speed test somewhere, are you sure you made it? Or did you just steal the code from someone?

If you are talking about XP as a OS itself, it's a decent OS for beginning/intermediate users.

Also make sure you have your mouse drivers installed.

You should back up your registry before you do anything you don't know how to do. If you back it up, then you can screw up and whatnot, then import the backed up registry. Simple!

If you can navigate to your Control Panel, click on "Mouses" or something along the lines of that. Make sure one is selected in the CP.
