  1. I have mine running through a splitter.... I have no problems.. The brand is Regal 120dB splitter.. I have found a simular problem with like Radio Shack splitter... the speed drops when I used to turn the tv on... Try getting a high quality splitter.
  2. That doesnt mean that he will... he might be able to give you a few pointers... Not to bad... 235 on a 256 line...
  3. Ok this site is really unique, all praise CA3LE, he has done a great service to the internet testing world.... Most of the site you visit are using like 500k files... This means that for broadband internet connections you are really testing your burst speed... 500k isnt even a sweat for most cable or dsl connection.. but with the 1492kb test file you are taxing your connection enough to make it really accurate... If you have ever download anything in IE or Netscape you know what I am talking about.. The first few seconds are like 800kbs... then is falls off... That would be your burst speed... Of course the best way to test you speed is to find a huge file like some 50 or 100 mb file on a really fast server... I think that Microsoft update place is a really good test bed for this... The reason that you are able to score 3700 on a 3000 line is because you ISP has extra bandwidth and your modem isnt capped at 3000... As more people join you will see your speed go down However, most people will test above the package speed about 99% of the time... Unless you live in like Chicago where the service and speed is slow...
  4. Lets see this upload... we know you have a killer download...
  5. First welcome to the forum... That is a nice score before tweaking... You should be able to get it in the mid 4000s if cox cable tweaks well... What is your upload like??
  6. CA3LE Works for cox.... Maybe he can hook you up or at least try and resolve the problem... You upload is amazing still... 800kbs! That is awesome..
  7. yah like 2000kbs...maybe...
  8. I dont think that would do you any good.... they would probally cap your service for ever... I also dont think that any State Prisions have Cable internet...
  9. next time just post it once... Trust me some one will answer your question... Most of use look at all of the posts on a daily basis...
  10. I would kill for that upload... the download is pretty standard of most 2.5 packages.. Tweak it a bit and you have one killer connection! By the way welcome to the forum..!
  11. NICE!!!
  12. OOO.... AHAHAHAH I like those speeds...!
  13. Xp or 2000pro... I think that 98se is better than ME... Just my opinion...
  14. O well... i guess we will just have to wait until someone has a real test result to find out what the upload is like...
  15. that is good!!! I would recommend getting a copy of something other than ME... Microsoft really screwed up with that OS...
  16. Hey I was wondering why it is so much more to get more upload speed v getting more download speed... I can up my download by 1.5mb, to 5.5mbs, for about $20 extra... I am currently getting about 4200kbs... They dont even offer to up the upload... When you look at some of the heavy ended upload packages they are so much more than if you just have a hell lot of download... So i guess my question is why?
  17. be prepaired to shell out some hard cash for that type of upload...
  18. WOW are you both on comcast??? Post some of your uploads... I would love to see those...
  19. First time get rid of ME that os sucks period. Did you reinstall a fresh copy of ME when you upgraded?? If you did my guess is that you are seeing the difference between a computer with some spyware, you might have not been able to detect it..., and one with no spyware.. That is a soild speed for not tweaking...
  20. that is really nice! Looks like that are trying to keep up with the cable companies who have been offering those types of speed from some time... I love my speed just wish I had more of an upload...
  21. First of all Welcome to the forums! That is a nice speed for DSL! Keep posting and you might be able to squeeze a little more speed out of that connection...
  22. I would go with the Retail boxed 333 version... I dont know if the extra money is going to pay off... Overclocking either is fairly easy but you are going to void every warranty in your system pretty much... I can not find a retail boxed 400 version on pricewatch which means that they most likely dont exist anymore or AMD isnt producing 3000+ 400 retails...
  23. Yeah... The one that you are looking at is the OEM 3000+... Which means that you get to spend an extra $20-$30 for a heat sink and thermal compound.. I thought you were looking at the retail 3000+ 333FSB which comes with the AMD stock cooler... I would recommend this method if you are not going to over clock...
  24. It looks like those benchmarks were made with the 333fsb version... I can find a 2800+ 400fsb...
  25. that is really nice for SBC.!
