  1. That is really interesting... I had heard that the 700 was plagued by problems when it was first release with windows mobile on it.. But I thought by now they would have had most of the problems worked out. I would be interested to see what you would have thought about it.. I would also be interested to see what people thing of the Motorola Q.. I would think that it is more based around a phone than a PDA..
  2. amc11890... have you tried installing it on a vista machine yet? So far the news is reporting a total flop on the installation and if you are able to get it to install by some miracle it only detects like 1/3 of your songs... Post some pics of the interface in general.. I havent been following this..
  3. I guess the domain name changed... i have it marked as interfacelift.com.. but the dns is pulling up interfacelift.net so if it isnt working try http://interfacelift.net
  4. http://interfacelift.com They have some really good high res stuff... the site seems to be down right now..
  5. Linksys has achnologed the problem on the v5 routers. I would try to flash the router after power cycling it, holding the reset button for 10 seconds, and then, from an ethernet computer, upgrade the firmware to the router. If that doesnt work there is always the posibility of returning it to Linksys or flashing it with a third party firmware to see if that improves the situtation.
  6. The printing is taking longer because all of the information must be processed by the computer that has the printer connected to it.. Depending on what else is going on with that computer and or network can cause the spool time to increase. As far as the shared folder.. Make sure that you dont have a firewall up and running.. Windows scans for new shared every 90 minutes or so. If you are still having issues with the folder not being found I would try and reboot the host computer. DHCP will work fine... IP addresses have nothing do to with the file and printer sharing in windows.
  7. yeah.. http://sourceforge.net/projects/automysqlbackup/ uses cron, gzip, mysqldump.. this will only work if you are using a linux based solution.. The other way would be to download the gui tool from mysql.. I think you can schedule backups in the administrative tool they offer.
  8. I mean on the computer.. the little speaker icon... adjust the overall volume to 75% and the wav output to 75%
  9. Try reducing the output from the sound card to less that 75%... I have logitech 2100 which are 2.1 but if I run the sound coming out of the sound card at 100% i get random pops..

    ISA 2006

I have yet to try any of that yet..
  12. ccleaner? http://www.ccleaner.com/ That will remove any dead/un-needed registry files that are on the system.
  13. not a problem..
  14. Yes.. that is possible.. There are a few ways to do it.. One is through Printer/File sharing which is included in every version of windows xp since 98.. This works fine but it requires the computer to be on when you want to print from the other computers. However, this is the only solution will allow you to retain the full functionality of the scanner.. The other way would be to purchase a print server... Which would allow you to plug the USB cable into the server then attach a network cable to the router. This is great if you have high volume printing and dont want to have to have the other computer on. However, doing it this way you would loose the scanning functionality. here are some pinter sharing resources for windows xp: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/honeycutt_july2.mspx http://www.bio.upenn.edu/computing/network/filesharing.xp.php
  15. well if he cant ping or access the router then it is a networking problem.. it wouldnt matter if it was IE 5.5, 6 or 7..
  16. You are trying to boot linux from the Vista bootloader? if that is the case.. http://neosmart.net/blog/archives/273 http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=78186 check those out.. I am not 100% sure what you are looking for..
  17. I saw that yesterday.. is it a free upgrade or additional $$ http://promotions.newegg.com/microsoft/vista/TechGuarn.html looks like it is an even swap +s&h for a windows xp pro to vista business.. Looks like a pretty solid deal if you are in need of an OS.. Sure beats paying $400
  18. I dont know if there will be a leaked full version... They way that MS has the product activation set-up it might make it really hard to get a warez version. I guess only time will tell. I know for sure I am not going to be making the switch any time soon..
  19. First what are you going from os wise? XP to XP? I read about a patch from Microsoft that if installed would break the transfer wizard.. http://blogs.msdn.com/andypennell/archive/2006/03/28/563490.aspx That being said.. on the new machine you can try to uninstall KB896344 and see if that works..
  20. I posted on this a while ago, the release date, cause i added something that was miss spelled.. here is the solution that I found and it seems to work.. C:Documents and Settings%username%Application DataMozillaFirefoxProfilesh7nanh8w.default If you get to C:Documents and Settings%username% and Application Data isnt there make sure you can see hidden folders.. Once in the profiles folder click into the directory mine happens to be named h7nanh8w.default Then edit the file called persdict.. For me it showed up as a windows media player file.. just choose to open it with notepad and delete the contents. BTW I edited the title of the post just-

    ???

If you look in AD is the 2003 R2 machine listed under computers? What are you trying to access on the other machine?
  22. yeah i dont know what is up with that... i guess it would be for dual consumer lines.. most of which dont go above 8. I saw that when I was posting and thought that was kinda weird..
  23. that is an interesting little diddy.. Have you seen an slow down like under heavy usage periods? The entire point of the caps is to keep bandwidth usage under check and to make sure that there is enough on each node.. I will have to check it out the next time i am at home..

  25. alright everybody is wrong.. the worst tech/customer support comes from our lovely friends at the wireless phone companies... I personally would rather deal with an ISP than have to call Cingular.. They have you by the balls no matter what you say unlike ISPs where you can just leave...
