Well my friend on basic RR ( 5/386) only gets 4.7 and no matter how much tweaking iv dont to it he couldnt surpass it.. You may be a different case, but iunno. Try using one of vanburens files for the connection, but change the TTL to 56. That seemed to have helped me.
Um.. Im not too sure about the whole policy.. but i think its best if you dont advertise your website anymore without consulting with ca3le first. I mean your sites nothing bad or malicious or whatnot... but its still going to be getting free hits at the expense of D's hard work on this site. Id double check with him next time.
Sorry to be the whore of bad news, but thats a smal file..
For your connection you need at least the 5 meg file
for example
2 meg

Well , you'll need to give some kind of info on your system..
Whos your ISP?
What firewall / antivirus w/ firewall you running?
Router?
Routerless?
etc.
The modem shouldnt effect speeds.. Most modems are speed rated pretty equally, but in other terms of docsis 1, 2 etc, that may be a different story. Changing the modem may change stability and behavior of your connections, but the speed will not (shouldnt) change , since its still going to be using the same config file from your ISP.
id like to see them too.. Got annoied, mabey.. thrown a fuse over something online no.. Mabey cause my car is totaled with water in the engine, and / or even mabey cause it was then broken into it and all my competition audio is gone...but i dont throw fuses over online nonsense.
Yea.. um.. trust me.. we deffinatly knew who you were for a while.. your not that slick...
