I just got me another ISP and I made them aware that their speeds were not as advertised . As the conversation proceeded they instructed me to go to their speed site and sure enough it was(their speeds) as advertised imagine that. What is the next step in the process get another ISP OR? I would like to add one more item and that is of knowledge. Just take a moment and think of the monies that have been saved by our site if the average person had taken his puter to a shop to be upgraded, repaired, diagnosed, ect. ect. how much would have been spent and this is where Van the Man comes in as not to take away from any other member that has shared with us their knowledge. His contributions in my estimations are enormous and can not put a price tag on that. and of course the Boss his hard work and diligence has also been enormous. more than likely your ISP has turned off the echo ping as not get what is called a DNS (denial of service) attack check with your provider and ask if this is not the problem!!! :grin2:

:DWell guy's it took longer to get back to ya'll than it did to buy,build troubleshoot and enjoy the system than it did to take a trip to Chicago well anyway the bottom line was $127.00 for the mobo which was an ECS (elitecomputer group) which was also the last system that I had, and it is a PT800CE-A with a 800 FSB speed I really liked that. It has the VIA chip system,8237 with all the intergrated sound and lan it has a really neat display adapter that was included with the mob @ no extra cost!! now comes the memory which is the Dr variety@ 1 gig @ about $219.00 had to have the power for the speed and it is really nice system for $346.00. Me thinks that I did all right for the price don't know but suspect that this also helped increase my D/L speeds tell me what you guy's think about the cost and the d/l stat's Thanks for all of your help Fred :::.. Yes by all means I will research the compatibility issues and especially the power supply and the memory, front side bus speeds, and so on and so forth, that conroe sure looks nice and is reasonably priced @ 250.00 bucks that will allow for a lot of extra goodies and I have gone to other forums like extreme OC and the PSU forum for power supplies also went back to the site I bought my last mobo @ and checked some of their newer equipment also but the input that I am receiving here sure is helpfull
