HAHA, why do people have to keep modifying there test results. Were gonna know that they are fake right away. espically when you remove the validation link

FallowEarth yea wep is very insecure and you really shouldn't use it, but some people still have network cards that wont do WPA, and WEP is better then no SSID, and mac filter. now the reason mac filter and turning off SSID are bad is because of 2 little programs, Cain & Abel, and Ethereal, Cain will find the ssid in a sec and ethereal will give me the mac id of your computer and i can mask my mac id with your mac id in ethereal and then be in your network in less then 30 seconds using your internet and doing what ever and the whole time your router thinks that my computer is actually your computer. The only true way to secure your wireless network is with WPA. All the other security methods have been broken. I have personally broken every one except WPA. Someone has a better chance of getting in your network through the internet then they do going through WPA.

ca3le is working on a 40mb test file, so you will have to wait just alittle bit longer.

its mostly likely not cached, he is probally on comcasts "boost" stuff. he just cant get a good enough result because the test file isn't big enough.

Kingknight67 you wouldn't happen to know how many times your cable line is split before it gets to the modem would you?

Hay just want to let you guys know incase you dont already, turning off SSID broadcast and enabling MAC filtering doesnt really make you secure, you should always have some sort of encryption on wether its WPA or WEP you should really have 1 on.

have you tried uninstalling the card and reinstalling it?

I think he is getting some kind of connectivity because he can get on the internet. make sure that "file and printer sharing for Microsoft networks" is on in the properties for the network.

a 10/5 connection would make me drool. offer to pay more.

thats something that just happens on some DSL lines, It will do that on mine everyonce and a while.

it may be that you are trying to load too many at a busy time, it takes alot to load all the points.

to get into the control panel for the modem have it pluged directly into the pc no router, and type what ever your default gateway is most likely 192.168.1.254 into your browser.
