no i don't. firefox has always been alittle slower then IE but you can speed it up some with a plug in called "fasterfox" i would give that a try.

I'm not trying to scare you I'm just trying to inform you, at my office we have a few alieanwares and they are great computers some of the best, but when ever we have a problem and have to call support i want to fuck en kill someone one. there support is the worst ever. I have never delt with worse people, they are the biggest script readers Ive ever seen and if you say something that is not listed in what they are reading they are totally speech less because they have no idea what to do. So if you have no problems or a need to call tech support then your will love it, but god help you if you have to call tech support. And make sure you regester that thing the minute you get it or you will have problems if something does go wrong.

ill give it a 9 out of 10. and the only reason i give it a 9 out of 10 is becuase its a alieanware. If you don't have any problems with that laptop you will really like it.

800 meters is not that far, but you never go by what the tell you because my ISP tells me that im 14000+ feet from the clostest RT, but i can see one from why window. Poor cabiling will do it though, if the copper going to your house is bad then it could be causing the problem.

your line is probally to blame here. just because you were good on 1mbps doesnt mean you will be good on 8mbps. since DSL has a distance factor. This may be coming in to play here you may be too far to get a relyable 8mbps. Like resopalrabotnick said they did not try to blam it on you, and since they said they would have to report it to a diagnostics team i think they know what the problem is and they are going to try and fix it probally by sending out a tech to the local RT and changing a few settings, this can take a while for that to happen, but i would be calling every day and checking up on that.

Welcome to the forum ms526. Are you using a router?, and have you done spyware/adware/virus scans on your computer? And what have you used to tweak your connection?

its pertty good, better then MSN messanger. but it could be better.

Kentucky is a very nice place Ive been through there a few times and everything is just so open no one is close to you, and best of all the people are real nice.

AgentGOD i take it you don't like what your seeing so far.... Also nero is not the best place to test your connection speed... I would try another place.

starship_troopers cnet is not the best place to ask about any computer or computer part that is considered low end becaue they are all about high end and the put down anyone that just needs something simple and not too powerfull. Testmy.net is the only forum that ive found were people don't put down anything that you want to buy they may suggest something a little better but they wount put you down.

rkzx2 like swimmer said try tweaking your connection because there is no reason why your netgear should be slowing down your internet unless it had a 10mbps WAN. but since your router doesnt have a 10mbps wan you dont have to worry about that so try tweaking.
