The first chip that is made always cost more, like around 4-5 million $$$$ so they have to charge alot so they can make there money back + pay there employees + make a profit. AMD does the same thing the reason there chips don't cost as much is because they, cost about 1/2 of what a Pentium 4 costs to make 1 chip. The main reason is amd uses alot of aluminum in their products Ware as Intel uses more expensive copper, and AMD uses copper wires Ware as Intel uses gold wire.

ya we know rr and earthlink are at 384upload but bellsouth should have gone to 768kbps upload not 512kbps, everyone else is eather going to 768kbps - 2mbps upload. its BS

I called them this morning and they say that it has been delayed to October 8th-10th, because of hurricane Katrina.

I would rather have a T1 Then a SDSL line because SDSL is not as consistant or relyable as a T1. We a have a SDSL line and a T1 Ware i work and the T1 Kicks he crap out of the SDSL line. plus the T1 is more dedicated.

i have used all of theose ftp server that everybody mentoned, but if you want something is really east to setup and is very stable they you can't go wrong with http://www.guildftpd.com/ it has so many features from bandwidth control folder size, the abuility to make your own rules. its very simple stable and scure. i have used it for years.
