  1. So what you are saying is that your PC is connected directly to your DSL modem? Try this line packet loss test: http://www.dslreports.com/tools
  2. That trace is looking a little slow for a 7M package. Do you have a router?
  3. Welcome to the forum REDJ. Please click HERE and HERE and post all info.
  4. Have you considered making a direct connection to the modem (bypass the router) to see if your speeds are any better?
  5. Are you connecting wirelessly? If so, please read HERE
  6. Is the connection to the router wired or wireless?
  7. i'd prolly go with what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-my-puter.com, or i-am-real-dumb-when-it-comes-to-my-puter.com. just joking...those names look good.
  8. BUH! wow, that's pretty far away. Have you tried connecting your PC directly to the modem via ethernet and testing your speed?
  9. I still think it's your router slowing you down, and have yet to see a trace with it out of the picture.
  10. How far away from the router? What is your signal strength? Did you shut it down to test?
  11. Try from here: http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads And run this: https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=6415.0;id=3093 Extract and run the batch file, then post the log it creates. Please and thanks
  12. I'd go with the custom one the, seems to work best.
  13. If you clicked the link I gave you, it runs a test without the loader bar. If this increases speeds significantly, it usually means: a) firewall is running toolbar/extension/popup blocker is running on browser c) spyware
  14. Trace looks like you are still going through the router.
  15. Still seeing some high times from the first hop (192.) to the second (10.).
  16. ch34p5hot, you may be able to boost them speeds up a bit using this cablenut file.
  17. Welcome to the forum, olythumper. Very pretty scores. Very pretty indeed.
  18. With a direct connection to modem: -click start, click run, type cmd and click ok -type tracert testmy.net and hit enter Paste results here
  19. I wouldn't worry about it. Looks like some good latency between your router and your modem. Try a direct connection and test and trace again.
  20. Not sure, but I think maybe you have the 3/768. Download and install cablenut [LINK]. Then download the file I have attached and open it. It will open the cablenut adjuster window. Click save to registry, then reboot your PC and test again (make sure all firewalls and browser toolbars/extensions are off when you do).
  21. Welcome to the forum, 25jai. Please start here: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=2097.0 Good luck.
  22. To the best of my memory, the photons were projected against a material that would change (colour I believe) when exposed to light, which through monitoring they were able to map each photon's path from the point of release.
  23. It's definitely cheaper, if you are networking your home, to make your own cables. There's really not much to it....doing your own coaxial cable is pretty straight-forward too. Plus, it never hurts to have a length of cat-5 or cat-6 kickin around. You never know, right?
