i got a letter from speakeasy saying they oversubscribed there lines and thats why i was getting bad speeds and pings but i get no credit? how is that you give me shitty service and dont give me a credit and just say we did this and your paying. i advise anyone to get rid of this service and not get it if you were thinking about it cause they do some messed up stuff. they also took 4 months to credit me $100 for a mistake they made and i had to complain every month and they still missed it every month. DO NOT GET SPEAKEASY AND TELL EVERYONE IT SUCKS CAUSE THIS IS BULL SH** THAT THEY TELL ME ITS THERE FAULT AND I GET NO CREDIT. what kinda router you have cause some have QOS built in to it and work great. my friend uses a linksys router that does it and i'll ask him later and even look around for ya and if i find something and i'll let ya know.

actually i have 2 dsl connections and cablenut does way more than dr tcp by far and its hard to tweak if you have no idea how so before you come on here knockin the software and gettin all pissy take the advice from them cause some have been here a while and this is what they do. :)

just call your isp and tell them and they should be able to see and stop it fast. also if you have a firewall it should show the ip that is pinging you.

if it is just too many people on the line all you can do is complain cause no matter how you optimize it, it will always be off cause your pings arent the same all the time. also your speed depends on how many people is on your node so to me it seems cable can be harder to tweak cause its always changing. now my dsl on the other hand i always get the same speed and pings everytime i test it compared to my friend i tried to optimize but got messed up on different times of the day(peak hours). just as i always say its all luck what you can get and how its gonna work

thats why i got off cable cause if everyone is on you have high pings and less speed and it looks like alot of people might have cable in your area.

well you can do that if you live colse to cogent cause i could have got a 100 mb up and down on a backbone for $1000 a month but i dont live close enough

Covad SDSL 1500 / 1500 Speakeasy 768 / 6000 also how could you not make a vote for 100 mbps for van or just put van next to 100 mb. lol

yea but bonding T1's is alot of money and if you need it get another line like me.
