  1. we have a small school, no more than 1000 kids and I found out this year we have upgraded.... from 2 T3 lines to 3 T3 lines, one for each school(elementary, middle & high). But the elementary T3 also hosts the schools website with some of the load routed to the middle school when the load is high
  2. forbes has bill gates net work at 48 Billion, that was in '04. Source: http://www.forbes.com/finance/lists/54/2004/LIR.jhtml?passListId=54&passYear=2004&passListType=Person&uniqueId=BH69&datatype=Person
  3. could you imagine a 7/896(highest dsl package available in U.S. as far as I know) connected to a school to say with 2000 kids? Given maybe only 200-400 maybe on at any given time, but you should get the idea. And I am guessing your school has multiple lines because even 1 business class cable line cant support that much.
  4. No offense or anything, but why do you always post your scores? It seems like a lot of topics you start your talking about your speeds. BTW who is your ISP/
  5. This reminds me of the time Toms Hardware over clocked a CPU to 4 Ghz back when the highest you could get was maybe a 2.5. Noone believed it until they saw it, this seems the same way.

    hey

Not trying to be rude, but this is not even close to the right place for hosting. We could point you in the right direction but other than that, we can't help. Well I can't anyway, maybe someone else can.
  7. Not too sure, forbes wont load for me for some reason. Bush is asking Congress for 50 billion ON TOP OF the 10 or so they already gave him
  8. operating paremeters are from -15 to 15dB so your OK
  9. looks very good, although I think your downstream power level should be 0 to -5 for best performance, or so I was told by a tech who was here once. and the modem site SHOULD be 192.168.100.1 quick edit: heres mine Frequency 549000000 Hz Locked Signal to Noise Ratio 39 dB Power Level -2 dBmV The Downstream Power Level reading is a snapshot taken at the time this page was requested. Please Reload/Refresh this Page for a new reading Upstream Value Channel ID 2 Frequency 33000000 Hz Ranged Power Level 54 dBmV <== thats a little high, but it was at 61.... the highest the modem could operate at so im not complaining.... it fluctuates; sometimes I get 49. My ISP is Adelphia which is why my frequency is different from yours
  10. opt online caps for excessive uploading. if you reach the unknown limit your upload goes from 1 meg to 150Kbps
  11. i dont think comcast caps, but i have heard rumors of such, its a possibility, whereas a slim one, but one none the less.
  12. Only one problem with that... its optimum online. Yea sure you get 2 megs up, but an upload cap to go along with it.
  13. personally with direcway, i made a custom web browser in visual basic. Used VERY little memory usage and even had its own downloader in it
  14. i dont know about banned, just takin a guess cuz php said it was 'taken care of' and we havent seen him since... just making a guess.
  15. You did join the same day/day after he was banned. And as for the cappping, why don't you call your ISP and ask them....?
  16. That sounds about right, in I.E. go to tools>Connections>Lan Settings and if the box is checked for Use a Proxy Server With Your LAN then you have a proxy on I.E.. On FireFox or Opera, i can't tell you, I never used proxies on those before.
  17. do u have anything available next to see within 200-300 feet we can run Cat5 Cable to?
  18. for an internet cafe you need a big fat pipe. At LEAST a T3 possible Dual T3's. All depends on size and what kinda users you have come in.
  19. Like I said, flucuating speeds, and i have no idea what jay173's point is. He could of chosen that test size you know....
