Yea, I'm on it right now, but it's ornery and glitchy. I need a browser that does nothing but what I tell it to. Maybe I'll have to start removing all these little kid things from the browsers. edit~ guess I should have saidsomething like " I'll have to learn how to remove that bulky pretty stuff that constantly reminds you where you were in case you foget lol"

Well wonderful review, if all that crap thats in the other browsers that I can't stand is now in safari, I chucked it, for more reasons then that, it's been slowed down due to all the site retrieval for "the wall of sites constantly updating ". No, I don't feel the need to start tweaking , and adjusting, and turning on and off all these toys, I want a simple browser that does nothing but give me access to the net, nothing more. I'm not that person that has all those addon. None is what I need. Nothing more then the basics. I feel that I shuld be the one tyo decide what to put in a browser, not standard slew of junk todeal with and wait on. I'm use to having a page load in less then a second, not wait for safari to talk to all the sites it stores. Keep the pile.

Well for now I have to say windows 7 is nothing like vista, I'm on a VM of it now running in a mac enviornment, and it works damn smooth for anything from MS as of late, so I might try it.

Yea, it was IMO hands down the king, I seriously am baffled at why they did this. And very disappointed.

Well, thanks allot , you have entirely ruined my internet experience without removing all this crap you put into safari, now, instead of being light, and simple, safari is now a clone of FF, and or opera. I'm going back to the previous version, where I can use the net without all the addons that make a clunky , slow, full of features I don't need. Iv'e use safari 4 since the release, it has crashed several times, on the restart, it doesn't even load all the tabs that were there when it pooped it self. Phooey, take it. Thought I would add my disappointment. Safari was the leader for so long, as far as clean safe browsing, nor=w there nothing more then the same old followers, looking for the pretty stuff to clutter up your networking.

Well if the tech knows what he's doing , and the local lines are good, then I would look at the drop, if the drop and or the port check out, then the first node could have a split, where water, and or wind are effecting it. If there is no physical defects, then there would most likely be a failing card in the node. Since from here the only thing that is effected is the download, it would most certainly be a card, or component in there. This is more common then anything with TWC as when the previous owner had possession, they rarely replaced any of it, just pulled old parts from older parts lol I would keep on the ISP about this until they fixed it. There doing much better now.

Ahh, well then that would tell me that you still have something that is taking the bandwidth. Something in your system is running, and is using your system for who knows what purpose. You must secure your system by a router to close all unnecessary ports, install antivrus software, and something like spybot to seek out and find those little buggers in there. Remember that when you go online to certain websites, and download certain data like music movies, and some things that seem free, but come with a price, they install nasty things on your machine to utilize your bandwidth, and or for advertising . Scan your system with spybot , and run your scans in safemode.

Glad you joined, and you'll be as well. Have you taken the speedtests here at testmy.net yet ?
-
It's because there's no test running on the remote server, the link has been broken, so there's some sort of error that returns results, it's not real.
-
What site ? And I'm thinking something on your system has been fooling you, "website restore " ?
-
Man, why on earth would they do that ? Who is the ISP ? Can you post a test ? Now that your a member, you can track your speeds, the server at testmy.net will store them for at least a year

mudmanc4 replied to liesfortheliars's topic in General Discussion
I found this on pcmag site .http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2287700,00.asp Personally ? I would save all documents, make sure I had all my keys, and such to re install programs, and start from scratch. I never "upgrade " to a newer OS version. -
Yea, now that would be nice, but that server hasn't been up for a while lol post a test directly from testmy.net.
-
Fantastic, that would have been one of the next steps you normally take Awesome !

First thing I would do is go into device manager and look to see that the device is connected, and the correct drivers are installed. start run>control panel, administrative tools, device manager

I'm not sure what help I would be in assist you in doing this, remember, I haven't had any hands on experience with a modem from globe, or there systems. So if you decide to make major changes within the modem, be prepared. Take snapshots of all pages in the modem configuration, write down everything you see that has an option of personal interest, such as account information and such that might not be there if you need to clear the modem to original status. There will be no connection if you change something your not sure of, so there will be no one to help. Maybe just read up on changing different settings within the modem, then make minor changes one at a time, so you can change them back if you lose connection.

Good choice. I'm not sure about the mybook, I don't remember, but the world book, is rais capable, it has a USB port that allows you to connect any other drive to configure in raid /whatever
