Well it's obvious that this is much more then a caching issue, I have to ask though, if your goal is to use less bandwidth, my question would be is this located on your machine, or do you have it set up on a separate machine that is used as a router / firewall and such. I have a machine that (is not in use right now ) that runs specifically as a router / firewall. The more security I set, the slower it became. Cache or not.

Do a trace route to the proxy website, find out where it is.

There could be a memory conflict, remove the device from the machine, uninstall all software, and drivers pertaining to the device, restart the machine. Before plugging in the device, search for the latest driver, (online, don't allow the system to search EVER !) and place it in my documents where you know what, and where to locate it at a glance. Then plug the device in, Not the same usb port either, use a different one, install the new driver manually, or even of its the same one, either way. Try that.

Bet you powerboost and mine are basically the same thing. I'm on TWC, ( there one in the same AFAIK ) So if I take the 50, or the 100MB test, then I get super accurate results. Depending on traffic through the networks. And the hesitation I have come to the conclusion is there servers throttling the bandwidth it catches after the initial "boost" or temporary opening of the boot file commences to cease. Just takin a guess though

For one thing, they (MS) has the chit on servers as you could imagine, and I would dare to bet, that in the configuration files of "allowed " or something like that, IP's that MS is in there, so there unrestricted. Maybe not. I need to look closer at ipcop, to have a clue as to what I'm talkn about, I gotta run out , but when i get back I'll do that.

Yea well, you know something, there's always gonna be someone that gets better speeds, no matter what connection we have, so you know, I guess we just accept it, and realize it's much better then it was several yers ago, but then gain, we didn't know what 1000 k download looked like, we got 14,000-45,000 BITS , thats it bits, not bytes or KB, thats single data units :haha: Maybe something to think about while your getting "slow" speeds. It took up to 3-5 minutes to download a webpage full of chicks at that time :haha:

There is actually a way to use it, check this topic for further instructions. I'm using it on vista here at the office. Anytime you use a proxy , your bandwidth is effected. I haven't used IPcop, but many do, what is the configuration, do you have a home built server / router, or what ?

Sorry this reply took me so long, but I wanted to fully understand what I was reading. And I have been "stuck" on one small area, maybe someone could rectify this for me. What is your network setup look like ? The more info i have about your specific situation, the better I can pinpoint the problem, so post up There's no way you should be only getting half of what you pay for, so the issue is either in your network configuration, including your system, or the bootfile on the modem, but were gonna get right into the network config first, so we can eliminate this one by one.
