  4. These boys are not simply playing with big boy toys, they are the big boys. Sincerely, everyone and everything tech wise, knowingly, wittingly, or even those who could give two fraps less or not, depend on that company. In my own words, they are Saurons eye. 'They' are us, who we are and where we are going. The gauge all gauges, the source atop the mountain in which the highest tech water flows from. Every thought placed in text, every sexual urge, in fact every feeling conveyed at least over the most scarce yet vast concept of mental status planet wide. To be manipulated from the highest bidder of the minute. In which most certainly knows no less than much more than we as individuals are aware of that inside ourselves, as single units, sectors, demographics unspeakable in any forum, compilations of historical data surely shows a future path, how to avoid, surge, direct, and guide. Where a subtle pin prick can cause the utmost drastic measures to be initiated, at any time, now, even in the current past to affect the future. Freaking biblical.
  5. Yup , experienced this myself, better this week. Plenty of memory / CPU cycles available, no strange local network congestion either. When you find a clue, post up.
  6. As Sergey and I wrote in the original founders letter 11 years ago, “Google is not a conventional company. We do not intend to become one.” As part of that, we also said that you could expect us to make “smaller bets in areas that might seem very speculative or even strange when compared to our current businesses.” From the start, we’ve always strived to do more, and to do important and meaningful things with the resources we have. We did a lot of things that seemed crazy at the time. Many of those crazy things now have over a billion users, like Google Maps, YouTube, Chrome, and Android. And we haven’t stopped there. We are still trying to do things other people think are crazy but we are super excited about. We’ve long believed that over time companies tend to get comfortable doing the same thing, just making incremental changes. But in the technology industry, where revolutionary ideas drive the next big growth areas, you need to be a bit uncomfortable to stay relevant. Our company is operating well today, but we think we can make it cleaner and more accountable. So we are creating a new company, called Alphabet. I am really excited to be running Alphabet as CEO with help from my capable partner, Sergey, as President. What is Alphabet? Alphabet is mostly a collection of companies. The largest of which, of course, is Google. This newer Google is a bit slimmed down, with the companies that are pretty far afield of our main internet products contained in Alphabet instead. What do we mean by far afield? Good examples are our health efforts: Life Sciences (that works on the glucose-sensing contact lens), andCalico (focused on longevity). Fundamentally, we believe this allows us more management scale, as we can run things independently that aren’t very related. Alphabet is about businesses prospering through strong leaders and independence. In general, our model is to have a strong CEO who runs each business, with Sergey and me in service to them as needed. We will rigorously handle capital allocation and work to make sure each business is executing well. We'll also make sure we have a great CEO for each business, and we’ll determine their compensation. In addition, with this new structure we plan to implement segment reporting for our Q4 results, where Google financials will be provided separately than those for the rest of Alphabet businesses as a whole. This new structure will allow us to keep tremendous focus on the extraordinary opportunities we have inside of Google. A key part of this is Sundar Pichai. Sundar has been saying the things I would have said (and sometimes better!) for quite some time now, and I’ve been tremendously enjoying our work together. He has really stepped up since October of last year, when he took on product and engineering responsibility for our internet businesses. Sergey and I have been super excited about his progress and dedication to the company. And it is clear to us and our board that it is time for Sundar to be CEO of Google. I feel very fortunate to have someone as talented as he is to run the slightly slimmed down Google and this frees up time for me to continue to scale our aspirations. I have been spending quite a bit of time with Sundar, helping him and the company in any way I can, and I will of course continue to do that. Google itself is also making all sorts of new products, and I know Sundar will always be focused on innovation—continuing to stretch boundaries. I know he deeply cares that we can continue to make big strides on our core mission to organize the world's information. Recent launches like Google Photos and Google Now using machine learning are amazing progress. Google also has some services that are run with their own identity, like YouTube. Susan is doing a great job as CEO, running a strong brand and driving incredible growth. Sergey and I are seriously in the business of starting new things. Alphabet will also include our X lab, which incubates new efforts like Wing, our drone delivery effort. We are also stoked about growing our investment arms, Ventures and Capital, as part of this new structure. Alphabet Inc. will replace Google Inc. as the publicly-traded entity and all shares of Google will automatically convert into the same number of shares of Alphabet, with all of the same rights. Google will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alphabet. Our two classes of shares will continue to trade on Nasdaq as GOOGL and GOOG. For Sergey and me this is a very exciting new chapter in the life of Google—the birth of Alphabet. We liked the name Alphabet because it means a collection of letters that represent language, one of humanity's most important innovations, and is the core of how we index with Google search! We also like that it meansalpha‑bet (Alpha is investment return above benchmark), which we strive for! I should add that we are not intending for this to be a big consumer brand with related products—the whole point is that Alphabet companies should have independence and develop their own brands. We are excited about... Getting more ambitious things done. Taking the long-term view. Empowering great entrepreneurs and companies to flourish. Investing at the scale of the opportunities and resources we see. Improving the transparency and oversight of what we’re doing. Making Google even better through greater focus. And hopefully... as a result of all this, improving the lives of as many people as we can. What could be better? No wonder we are excited to get to work with everyone in the Alphabet family. Don’t worry, we’re still getting used to the name too! ABC.XYZ
  7. If the test is interrupted and times out, there is no math to be done, hence no result. Now as far as retrieving results from an unfinished test , that I have no knowledge of. It is possible you may get a more specific answer from Ca3le
  8. A command line speed test is available, however any kind of abuse is certainly monitored. https://testmy.net/dl-5MB
  9. This all depends on what agreement you have made with your ISP, concerning throughput.
  10. Please take a test now, and see it this is recorded.
  11. Sometimes adding data creates complexity if not for the very reason you explained. Something to be said about keeping it simple, and allowing the user to investigate. Yes? Although I cannot entirely disagree with you, chances of questions regarding the multi test feature would likely skyrocket out of misunderstanding. Not to mention the multi test is in my opinion a much more representative reflection of the realities involved in general browsing, which many times gets the butt-hurt going quick like.
  12. You referring to this results page? https://testmy.net/quickstats/missinglincoln The first few tests (not certain the exact number) are not graphed due to lack of data, after this set number is passed the graph begins to show itself.
  13. No way for me to not be repettetive in posting, but i would start by disabling addons that could effect the way the page reloads, or all addons completely, re running the test. Considering the OP wrote "To display the webpage again, Internet Explorer needs to resend the information you have prevously submitted", and there are two buttons: "Retry" and "Cancel". Which sounds like a cache issue locally in a very old version of IE, which might be resolved by resetting security settings to default. As testmy.net does not require any specific or special items from the browser.
  14. What am I missing when you say three different sites? The mirriors? If so , which ones.
  15. Clowns, un trained incompitent clowns in the custiomer service area. My current ISP that is. For roughly 5 years I've had their service, though, if you ask them, they cannot find the account. I'm on the phone with the right and get this tripe again. So i said look up my address.... " sir we do not have service at that address" Mkay, what about this account number on the BILL YOU SEND ME EVERY MONTH! ??? "Sir we do not have account numbers that start with what you are giving me" Ok I said then so I am not required to pay a bill that is not associated with any service from buckeye right? She says "you can do what you like" OMFG I literally smacked my forehead when she said and I quote " if you do not pay your bill your service will be subject to termination" hahahahahahahah------ AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH you incompetent button pushing moron. Pass the handset to someone that is conscious please. <= i didnt say that last part. I have no choice but to go into the office I exchanged the boxes a couple months ago. They had NO issues finding me then. She says " if you think that will help you" ok, at that point I could not speak, not even make anything more than a grunt so I hung up. Don't get me wrong, the internet service is excellent, steady day and night, minor fluccuations. The TV, which I personally could give a turd less about being force fed every tom dick and scary larry hoking their wares between the fodder called "TV shows" , I can honestly say I hate something in that sense. Who hell wastes so much time staring blindly into a screen allowing any plethora of intellectual mind control genius' to pump flashy subliminal messages persecond into the dead of the head. AND PAY FOR IT to boot. Yea, glad that's out. None the less. Others in this family care to be that person, so i haven't a choice. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed my mindless rant.
  16. I'm looking to grab DISH for TV only Anyone use it for only TV, and what say you?
  17. Agreed. Although considering the future of traffic flow, the SB6183 would likely win in the long term. At the same token, 'long term' is what, three to five years max for modem hardware.
  18. Can I ask what client you are using? Is this OpenVPN? Or IPsec. I've found UDP to allow slightly more speed for various reasons. Also, I use remote private servers running pfsense, where the local pfsense is basically meaningless at this point. Where TUN or TAP can be used depending on what the connection requires at the time. Also, when you are relying on a service, there exit nodes could be choked, which again puts you at the mercy of the VPN provider. = thing you already knew
  19. Anyone else have input on the free windows 10 garb? Again myop is if it is free, you are the product in the sense of such softwares. Last year when the windows 10 keylogger issue came up, Microsoft quickly released a notice claiming the following: and then....... Of course beta releases are setup this way. So duh-me? At any rate, hence moving you to that dreaded overused washed up, and in fact my opinion, complete and utter misrepresentation of reality, "the cloud" and OS as a service, still, does not appeal to me in any sense. Have I grabbed the preview, yes, have I used it, no, will I, dunno. Will I cram this on each box in the place, oh hell no. Slowly moving everyone to Debian. No reason not to, none at all. Unless I were somehow hooked to Microsoft, which I am not, I only use them here to continue my ability in repair for clients. Moved one person to Debian Jessie, he logs on and says " whoa what did you do to my desktop, cool" , and has yet to file a ticket in the last two weeks. never even taking notice it's no longer windows. Yet all his documents and office programs are a little different yet accomplish the very same thing, only much more easily. aka=LibreOffice (his words not mine)
  20. As a side note, use a local traffic monitor program, to u=insure nothing else is hogging the bandwidth at the time of testing. Everyones first reactions is always something to the effect of "my machine is clean - or there is nothing else going on" , I get it and feel the same way. However ther[e] is more going on at this moment than possibly any time in the last ten years, in terms of 'nasties'. So my feelings have nothing to do with it. Use a firewall, preferrably a stand alone appliance between the modem, and the network.
  21. My first thought, not having imaged repeatedly the same OS/disk of 7, would be microsoft has implemented something to the effect of mac address storage, along with whatever machine ID they can gather. In terms of manufacturer ID , proc, core system devices i should say. If you care to test this for us, next time, change the NIC between re imaging.
  22. The cloud has been used to the point of idiocy, instead of a server, even if it's a VM is now some fantasy item called the cloud. Oo If you installed or should I say activated, a windows OS more than 5 times, give or take, you had to call in an automated system to toss you a new key, is this the same thing as what is now being called 're arm' ?
  23. You are tunneling to a remote host through your local pfsense, yes? If not, what is the reason. VPN takes math, so a fast proc is a requirement. The higher the hash the slower the throughput, considering packet assembly/ dis- assembly on the fly.
  24. Appears they have had to take actions in filtering, shaping and as well QOS + deeper, would be my first impression. In the attempt to spread what throughput is available among requests. If this was not implemented, as you know, one node could easily absorb all available bandwidth, leaving others to suffer 56k experiences. They are most likely doing the best they can with what they have, in order to bring revenue to expand throughput not necessarily bandwidth itself. Though in theory what they have sounds infantile. Since it does not function as intended. If so, at the load factor on the node, no one connection could exceed the spec, your basically bypassing their config by P2P, which explains the majority are not utilizing the protocol. Hence, they could consider you part of the problem lol. Which of course you are not, though in terms of allowing all customers to have access at a specified minimum level. [at peak levels]
