"Copy to Clipboard" in "Share Results" nonfunctional.
mudmanc4 replied to fmrusmcrntx's topic in General Discussion
Interesting, it is working for me on a dedicated XP SP3 FF 29.0.1 then I updated to 37.0.1 and it continues to function properly. It may be an addon preventing this basic function from rendering, try disabling some addons until it works. -
The pink highlighted result from tests that reach 40MBps or higher What is it about the results that do not make sense? Windstream, I had no idea they could reach those speeds, is this what you are referring to? If so, it would seem there is some caching going on, if not, I'm looking into windstream for an ISP

With a ping time of 3ms the oookla test server is literally right next door, so testing will be very much so irrelevant other than connection. When testing it's always best to find a server further away from your current location, check the available testmy.net servers list > here <

Never forget testmy.net is not located on an ISP's public facing network where oookla scripts live. So proving an ISP throughput cannot possibly be worth anymore than assuming the account has connection to the ISP, and that is as far as it goes. So the differences can be astounding. To convert KB Kb MBps ect... testmy.net is kind enough to make a throughput conversion script available for all users. When testing at testmy.net , you'll get a real time 'internet' connection test, which runs through your modem, through your ISP's network, OUT and through the peers your ISP has available, to the specified testing node you choose. With as many variables involved, this gives a supremely more accurate representation of how your experience is reflected, or performing.

AOL snatched up Netscape, destroyed it and disbanded the entire project. I suppose this is what you do when something is better than you can do, destroy it. I remember using it after it after mosaic I think it was, dial up damn I miss that sound.

How do i say this kindly? Mkay, bullshit! MS has been much too busy trying to catch up to their own bank account to pay attention to what the web looks and acts like today, Vs 10+ years ago. How do we implement chat, oh wait lets buy skype... ohh yes everyone uses it, we'll take those dollars, hmm now damn firefox introduced 'hello' shitdam, now what webRTC omg what is this, k, now what.what? wait... oh shoot thats right, were so involved with government spider agencies that we musttry and catch up to google in the classroom, wait how,.... oh yes, lets dive ass over head into it and give gubmint a few billion,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, hmm, that will mean writing new programs to teach, yea, were teachers/ Hmmmm now what oh shit, we needs data to know what the pupils are doing, thinking , browsing and masturbating to. well damn google will nevber share this, ok, lets get deeper up gubmints ass and assist them in the largest data mining / storage of humanity, yes yes yes, browser what? But wait, hey bill, you said you have to crap out? here use this bucket .... *billy boy. now I'm thirsty, ok well run that poopie through some sand, now drink it. billyboy " yummie, here taste, and while were drinking our own shit, we'll wait another decade before making any moves, just to see what happens. What a load of tripe LMAO *billyboy --- hmm, that shit slurpy gave me an idea, since we are sucking hind tit with the best of them, lets rename our browser, those dumb people will say "ohh lookie, innovations, see MS is on top of it" and they'll all download our new and improved data mining self deciding, chosen for you that you cannot use any other operating system on our chipset dealers, (since we ate our own poop for ten year we must trap them see" ?

I am fairly certain, as pertaining to this poll, that if the interwebz doez not contain nuff mems, it might splode Oo

Changing the name does not do much for changing the underlying facts. I Only use IE for a very few items that were specifically written for it's use. A name change will not change my mind about it's lack of giving a hogs leg about keeping up with the realities of todays web services. They are going to have to leave that old 'we lead the way' tripe behind. Because they do not. Though at this point, it's anyone's game, whoever chooses to stop getting sucked in by the bribes.

Does TestMy Offer Indefinite Length Bandwidth Test?
mudmanc4 replied to TechnicGeek's topic in General Discussion
Sure does. Please have a look at the automatic testing section where there are many variables that can be set to your specific needs. -
testing this safari 6.5 I'm not seeing it, is there a reason you've not updated in a while?
-
The city average is just that, some people would then have packages a bit higher than yours, or, there are those with a higher package testing more than those with a different package. As for the video artifacts, that is something you will need to call the ISP on, which is a different frequency than 'internet', and would likely have something to do with the drop itself, or the cabling from the port. Even a bad or weak splitter can cause this loss in power. The secure webpage message: if you give a site example it would help. That, and remember many times a site has an SSL certificate, but serves images as well as text, which will cause say, firefox, to explain the page is not completely secure.

why the disparity between IE and Firefox?
mudmanc4 replied to missmoondog's topic in General Discussion
As diligent as we are, the term fact along side knowing next to clean , does not exist. For one it's a mathematical impossibility, secondly with new information coming out all the time on webRTC exploits, the lenovo conundrum, then the findings of PrivDog, there are most definitely many, many more. edit: In fact I have never once come across a machine that I could not find something on, sometimes you have to look far and wide, but you'll find something , always. Not necessarily detrimental to system functionality, however for the better part, it is not about usability anymore , script kiddies grew up, and started stealing data, hijacking your sessions and spoofing regularly visited web pages, for starters. -

Something is editing your registry, obviously, but we need to find more out about this. Start running scans, of every kind , and I'll start looking for why this is happening. -
Cold, I agree it's cold and sustained at this. Good to hear from you

why the disparity between IE and Firefox?

Interesting for sure. I'll run this out myself later today see what were dealing with here. -
Why not take a few tests for yourself, this way as you learn new ways to make everything run smooth, you can see your efforts.

That has me wondering if updates are torching your custom settings. Now I'll be watching for myself. Though AFAIK they should never be changed outside of the owner settings. -
Do not use Proxmox in production unless you plan to pay for it
mudmanc4 replied to mudmanc4's topic in General Discussion
Yes though does not Hyper-V require a windows domain controller? Or require the use of any PDC to be functional? Which means maintaining a DNS server locally? -
I'm all for open source development in every aspect. And proxmox is very inviting group of well put together software. Where most open source software, you use the product, and get community assistance. Which proxmox also has community forums. Most open source / free, built on the shoulders of those behind us maintains repositories, where updates whether security or features are pushed, that end users should regularly update their system from. Such as RHEL, PFsense, and other major successful have implemented means to financially support the continued production by means of subscriptions. Well so does proxmox. Here is where the 'rules' are bent and crinkled with proxmox. Proxmox has decided that if you want to use their software in production, you must pay. As they state, anything else is considered 'unstable' and should not be used in production. However many of us have been using / contributing the platform over a period of time, before the 'stable' repos were removed to subscription only. As of this time (nearly six months since the 3.3 release) there is no 'fail-safe' upgrade process, unless of course you pay. I should state, this means you cannot update to the latest version. Security? That is anyones guess. And I am now guessing. Sure, there appears to be a community solution, after attempting this on a local dev, the troubles were more than I was willing to risk in a production environment. Fair enough, time to search out viable alternatives and never look back. Now ask the proxmox staff why they choose to go this route, their answer is simple, clone the repo and compile the binaries yourself. Hmm, nice skate of the license there. After all, they are available, just not really usable. As one would be compelled to devote extended periods of time, where time could be spent elsewhere, more productive. My thoughts, they should completely phase out the 'free' aspect, and go full subscription only, immediately. As proxmox does not fit into the open source model I've always known. Yes, open source does not mean free, however using people as guinea pigs to develop and bug fix, then turning around and shutting out those that assisted the development, is uncool. Simple words of warning, play, use proxmox, real life, either pay or don't even bother, move along away from proxmox.

There are quite a few 'new to me', or php + database galleries that were not getting the attention they were a couple years ago. However finding the time to really get into each one to determine if they will work for my situation, and function correctly in an embedded format, is another thing. I'm considering simply writing my own for very basic, and pure image manipulation server side. I've got idea's written, full stop at that point. I'll have to pick away at it. Though if there is something great, I'll use that.

why the disparity between IE and Firefox?
mudmanc4 replied to missmoondog's topic in General Discussion
As well as EBrowns suggestion, please refer to this thread, which suggests editing Firefox about:config for multi threading downloads -
Hi aTortle, First thing that comes to mind would be multi threading from the browser. With Firefox Type about:config into your address bar and then use search for the following: network.http.max-connections network.http.max-connections-per-server network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy Adjust them at low increments and test. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Internet Explorer 10 To increase the number of files that you can download at one time to 10, follow these steps: Start Registry Editor. Locate the following key in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings On the Edit menu, point to New, click DWORD Value, and then add the following registry values: Value name: MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server Value data: 10 Base: Decimal Value Name: MaxConnectionsPerServer Value data: 10 Base: Decimal Try these if you have not already, see what the results are. If these do not make any difference we can look further.

I've been using gallery2 for several years, works great. However the way it's setup the images do not get indexed very well. I've got thousands of images and a very small amount of them actually 'google' Installed gallery3 a year or so ago, honestly sick of trying to get it functioning properly with what I have going on. Coppermine is simply not what I can use. So I'm looking for an open source free solution I can replace the current system with. Images are copywritten so they must remain on the server. Been a year or more since I've visited this issue, so some of you may know a 'better way' Suggestions would be appreciated.
