I agree w/ you Dark, mint is tight. But hey, she's got ubuntu and were gonna have to hold her hand for a while, but you know what happens to those that stick with linux, they do not go back to anything with a registry, and soon she'll be holding our hands !!!!! Or many anyhow.

Ok, but I am taking into consideration the actual speed that the HDD can process the data. Not the entire network. Besides, he's only looking for 50

My first thought is the CPU overheating. your in there, check the possibility of clogged heatsink fins, Thats solid sound as your already well aware of, shows a hardware failure of some sort OR........... The compound on any machine that ties the cpu heasink hardens and renders it ineffective. OR....... lol look in the BIOS for warning settings, maybe there are thresholds that have been breeched due to a simple issue. such as the above... Many times there is a virus warning, but this as rule does not halt the system, none the less, could be . If in fact the settings for either cpu, gpu or other are set to warn at a certain temp and set to halt on this threshold breech. Like roco and ray say, as well as the guides also. Cram a cheap gpu card in there and change the priority for video initialization within the bios. Or hell, just reset the bios, and as you do so, set the logs to ON , so that it will well, log the issue . Also check for a program that you may have installed to clock either the gpu, cpu or memory. Please update us with all your findings, we'll get to the issue by deduction.

Nice , I was thinking of getting the same thing just a bit ago , got caught up in other things. 2.4Hhz 4 Gb macbook pro here still runs as fast as it did the day I got it. Just like the old iBook g4 sitting there in target mode . So I know that thing must be amazing. I know it's nice, and like you already said, once you get the ram where it should be , it's gonna be on fire ! Waiting for the pics.............

HeyWyntam06 whats happinin man I'm thining watch your system stats while this mouse issue is happening, se is something is maxed, like the memory, cpu what have you. Something might be consuming too much of whats there. Watch the network traffic as well. Could you post your findings ?

I just saw one a couple weeks ago that somehow, maybe a update as you guys say, placed the volum in the main sound preferences to mute, now I know ther's a little sound, so maybe an application took over and lowered it, it may have hooked it, so if your not running that application, unless you go into your sound preferences and change the slider. Just tossing another idea out there.

So no one has an opinion for certificate authority ? Well I'll probably just go with my current host for now with a 2048 bit cert for $50. setup and $1000. annually. Not a bad price for what it i compared to the rest.
-
Iv'e used godaddy when I used them as a host (no, not anymore ) , with media temple now, there's the popular ones as everyone knows, and a few not so much. I was considering using my host as they offer them, just getting opinions as to what you guys do about them.

Ok so you have all but eliminated the hard drive ok. If you do a little research I think you'll find that as soon as the CPU gets power , it becomes very hot, that second, I'm not saying this is what it is, (the heat sink) just cant rule it out yet. What about the memory ? Seriously though, it may be some sort of malware that gets crammed into memory on startup. CAn you start in safemode (or did I miss that you said that already lol )and do all the scans, and do them with other programs then what you have, too many times as you know, a program will not find something that it should, and then another will. Or boot from a linux distro cd and find out what you can find out there.

Well yes, how old is the HDD ? What about the very last program you installed, or the very last download ? I would also be leery of the RAM, if you have an extra DIMM or two, replace it and see. Something out of left field, if the system is a bit older or the thermal compound is failing, the CPU temp can cause symptoms like this. Even the same for the video card (assuming it isn't on board ) but it could still fail, and cause issues. One more thing to check, poor cabling if it's IDE A few things for you to look for starters .

hahaha well yes, a system like that would submerse you in to it I agree. I use a headset mainly for customer service calls, help desk , skype , this type of thing. And when I get a minute, a game. And thse cheap lightweight POS I have now lasted no more then a few months, and made my head hurt. I was looking at the turtles, and people kept saying the crackling sounds, bad battery longevity , and bad ear sweats, I looked on newegg , and some other place I dont remember, the better part of the reviews said crackling and wifi interference. So i dunno, still lookin, thanks for the post thogh
-
Well I am still looking for suggestions , I need to make purchase headset
