I have a Lexmark x5075 , nice printer . and I run osx which I have a cups driver for , windows which is a given , and I'm running linux mint , in which I'm in the same situation as yourself, but I'm just about to resolve the issue. I'll install a VM of some version of windows and just pop that open when I need to print from that machine. Vs trying to develop from lexmarks sdk , they claim that these printer OS's were developed for win 3.1 , but i find that hard to believe, because years ago we understood that most printers were running a flash version of basic linux OS . If you have even a super old windows machine laying around ? , we could make it a print server and we'd be golden.

I don't use it , but I know others that do and have no real issues. You might want to check the sound settings , as in other voip programs , there are settings in which input / output devices to use during a call , and for ring , message ect. Sometimes can be a bit confusing at first.

ca3le the above is something that imo should be pinned , absolutely , great and true information.

My answer to you will be my personal opinion. Please take it as just that. Many sites as we know love there users, well , what site doesn't, an easy way to keep someone close to you , is to make them feel good about themselves. Throwing the truth to the wind. So what we see with many sites , is your going to see an inflated test result , well this makes you feel good right ? " my connections is fast here " , but never think , hmm , maybe , just maybe , the test is flawed in some way ? One question , when we download something , anything , pick it , do we download with a flash script ? Or do we download well , to if your in windows , maybe a temp folder or another designated folder , maybe with a socket or another form of connection ? ( just tossing options out there ) Anyhow , we all must decide what we like to see , maybe a very accurate test that may reveal there is an issue somewhere along the lines , or a great spike to spoof the results and make us feel good about ourselves. you decide.

Sounds as if it's an encryption issue between the laptop and the router during the class. Try to ping from laptop to tower , and tower to laptop , while connected to the remote server as well as while not connected. If the connection is a vpn maybe try giving the laptop a static ip and forwarding the port. If not , a static IP might be better and getting rid of netbios will clear some local traffic up , but might also break your shares locally.

Good story man !!!!!!

Nice , must be a breeze to get certain things done.

I do not remember the model of printer you have at hand , we'll need this to find a good driver for cups

Well yes , sometimes the things we think are helping us are actually hindering. Either way , glad you got it !

Hey Dan , try testing several times in a row , then later in the day as well. Many times network traffic is heavy , so it appears as if your connection has issues. Not saying either way at this point, but it's a start.

First thing after what you have already done might be to make a call to the ISP , they will likely send a tech out to check the lines . Will you post a trace route to testmy.net for us ?

what about the "rock crusher " , they still made there ?

I think teamspeak lasted like a beer in a bar , none the less , were still here

Windjammer users out there? (used to be time warner)
mudmanc4 replied to Gib4500's topic in RoadRunner (Time Warner Cable)
Good info , as windjammer seems as if they have a good business plan, Iv;e been waiting for what , maybe a year now to see what others have to say before switching myself. -
I don't mean to sound like a bummer , but if there is heavy network traffic during the day , your getting the results of that time period anyhow , so just click a higher start test ? As a small test for a wider pipe wont be as accurate by far anyhow. It's like taking a test within your ISP's network , it'll likely show screaming fast , because it doesn't go out of there networks, but it isn't what we can actually hit any mark on in a real life scenario.

seems great to me anyone else ? besides , I dont type my passwords in , just for the thought of getting sniffed , everything is stored in apples keychain, so when I get here , i am logged in auto, plus I have the system send me a new password every now and again. -
Honestly my opinion is that so many people are dis connected from whats really being done , next to what there being told, that people will do what there commanded to do and vote for communism.

Windows 7 Professional Or Windows Server 2008?
mudmanc4 replied to nanobot's topic in General Discussion
Choices are many ebrown , try centOS , or SME server , any unix server you can get your hands on , thats been updated in the last 5 years will do the trick. Unless of course you must have windows. -

Verbatim and I had a little issue , like a several hundred dollar issue. I bought a case for in the shop some time ago and next thing i know , I have dozens of returns , turned out I had a bunk run. I always used them and sold them before that , but I have a sour taste in the pocketbook since them lol The old 3.5 floppies were virtually flawless.

My first thought would be the alignment of the laser in the drive , or the drive isnt able to detect the media to set the laser power properly. As each different media type requires different power to the laser, it's written on the media itself. And is the first thing the drive detects. Only reason this came up is I have had a very similar issue myself. Turned out to be a I/O issue with the drive itself due to the above.
