You Da' man Damon, since I've used the fonts , but only from file on other drives , I imported all of them as i said because I'm working on consolidating and massively organizing everything i have , which is insane to see what I've gathered over the years , so I dunno with I did to enable them in the web area, unless when you add them they auto enable, is my best guess. I just clicked the settings tab and disabled them, of course i couldn't have thought that one on my own lol Anyhow, thanks !

actually none of the above is true , who did that math on that one ? Anyhow , welcome to testmy.net

After installing a large set of fonts ( somewhere around 1000 or so ) i have acquired over the years to the font book, I have inadvertently changed what font web pages and email uses. Since I've not changed any fonts other then email fonts , I do not know where to change these back to defaults , or at the least what I would like to see. Any help would be great.

Question About Pagefiles On Different Drives
mudmanc4 replied to fattymcbluff's topic in General Discussion
Sounds like your talking about me when the power goes out and i can't access anything off the APC Anyhow, Not sure myself about an OS like 7 or vista , but I've noticed even if you have enough ram , the system and some programs still like to use a bit of swap , or PF -

How To Use Gmail Only With Exchange Account?
mudmanc4 replied to MttFrog13's topic in General Discussion
Iv'e not done it , because i dont use gmail or exchange , but can't you just get the settings and forward them to the exchange account ? I know you already thought of that and is what your asking , thats why I ask , if you could post what is the issue with it that differs from any other email forwarding. So i suppose i turned the question around on you , sorry. -
I agree mttfrog13 , I test drove one of a friends , only thing it nearly doubles the thickness of the device. Which wasnt something i was willing to have pokin out of my dockers. 've found that nearly all of the ROM's developed by the community out perform stock ROM's in performance , usability and by ten fold battery life. Thats if the user is willing to unlock and flash the thing, which is very simple.

From 650 miles away ( however they calculate that , by the birds flight or by the cable length I dont know but my guess is B line ) , and chances are charters routing and or peering is borked up. Not knowing any details i could be way wrong. I would traceroute here to see where the latency is before dismissing anything.

Awesome , have fun with your new machine. A short review I think once you get things where you want them ?

Once you get past 15" the prices go up about $100.00 , Hell I've been using a 15" mac widescreen for a while, it's not really that small, and when i need to move out with it , it's a lot easier to handle then the 17" I used to have. I got the 15" just because of that reason . You want mobile or you just want laptop, see ? Anyhow , i have a 15" monitor on the left and a 24" to the right of this laptop anyhow for sitting here. Just about to give the 24" to the wife and put another 15 in it's place.

You should try the package manager, it will install it for you Learning what exactly to do with downloads in linux can at times be a bit agitating. Since there are different types of packages and ways to install them.

You could check this ASUS Laptop out , seems very close to what your asking about.

Hey rvrsonline , I'm sure the creator of testmy.net will take a moment to respond to you on this as well as any idea's he may have.

Back with a pfsense spoof. As of late , each time i reboot the server I must reconfigure the interfaces. As " lan1 " state changes to down. If i watch the connection on the 2900 it breaks just before detecting them. I thought this might be from one of the scripts I installed as a background service, I reset to factory defaults and still the same. A reinstallation proves the same results. My thoughts are a hardware failure in one of the cards. Either way 2.0 RC1 is likely going to be released in the next few days so I'll be chucking 1.2.3 anyhow.

As soon as you get used to where you place your apps ( until then just click them in the dock ) and it'll slide on over , you find yourself screamin right along. I still have windows cascading on each screen , and using expose' to focus on what app in what space I need , takes a second with a couple keystrokes rather then digging through. So I place apps like photoshop, transmit , coda on the same space , then webkit , pathfinder , mail , and textmate in another , then all the terminals in another. Using different terminal styles for quick reference to justify what sever. Yes , i would like a couple 30's for screens, but times are tight and so is my ass , so it aint happinin lol btw , i use the majic mouse , moved from mighty mouse when the ink from papers kept getting caught up under that tiny roller. The damn majic mouse is another freak of nature by apple. Use it along side of " majick prefs " , and you can just about tie your fingers in knots doing everything but opening that redbull can. Using even up to five fingers makes the mouse a real finger hoe

Ca3le you should utilize spaces , not much of a learning curve at all , and quadruples the screen real estate by default, and expandable to 16. Switch between them default control arrow keys, done. Allocate different spaces for different apps. You get used to it and it flows very nice after a short grunt here and again.

Thats my exact issue right now. i should have thought " hey , your breaking your own rules " by trying to run everything on one partition , but I was excited about my new drive and went head first into a mess. As I too have roughly 275 gigs on a 500 gig drive , everything is backed up on a local server ok , but I dont keep many documents on my local machine , this is almost completely all applications. Yea , I have a mess lol , below is a SS of an app called " Bevy " , it indexes all your apps and prints them out with there icons for you to access. Some may look like duplicates , but there actually not , such as vnc , one is the server , then client ect , you get it. This is just the main drive, there are two others that are loaded as well. If they were connected , Bevy would index them as well.

Iv'e made the same mistake as yourself, that is falling for the hype of large new HDD's are fast. I used to tell people don't get anything larger then at the most 250 GB drive. My theory was based on working on systems with drives larger then that, no matter how new, for the most part , I've noticed the larger the drive , the longer it takes to seek the data requested. Of course there'll be a few that say I'm off my rocker , so be it. I recently decided to go to a 500 GB drive 7200 rpm 3.5 " internal laptop. Dont remember the cache but I'll look it up. Anyhow , it's as slow as the old 160 gig that came with it and was tired. If not slower. So I stick with my thoughts from what experience i have, sure , larger drive means more capacity, but unless you make your boot partition around or below +/- 100 Gb , your asking for latency. Just partition separate storage drives within , conpress anything you can, and keep everything severely organized, then your golden.

Nice score. And congratulations on your new child, is this your first ?
