tommie gorman Posted November 11, 2006 CID Share Posted November 11, 2006 What ever you do if you get a chance tomorrow, just thank a Veteran. They earned it. I got this from Patriotism, and only wanted this one post. As it came to mind when making this thank you. The elderly parking lot attendant wasn't in a good mood! Neither was Sam Bierstock. It was around 1 a.m., and Bierstock, a Delray Beach, Fla. eye doctor, business consultant, corporate speaker and musician, was bone tired after appearing at an event. He pulled up in his car, and the parking attendant began to speak. "I took two bullets for this country and look what I'm doing," he said bitterly. At first, Bierstock didn't know what to say to the World War II veteran. But he rolled down his window and told the man, "Really, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you." Then the old soldier began to cry. http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=13580.45 Thanks to EWO.

Roco Posted November 11, 2006 CID Share Posted November 11, 2006 WW1&2 and onwards ..................................................................................... You who sleep in Flanders Fields, Sleep sweet - to rise anew! We caught the torch you threw And holding high, we keep the Faith With All who died. We cherish, too, the poppy red That grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies That blood of heroes never dies, But lends a lustre to the red Of the flower that blooms above the dead In Flanders Fields. And now the Torch and Poppy Red We wear in honor of our dead. Fear not that ye have died for naught; We'll teach the lesson that ye wrought In Flanders Fields ................................................................................................ Remember Roco UK
