  1. tommie;I forget how young your kids are.I don't think dieting for weight loss should even enter into the thoughts of most 7 year old kids.Even one that are fat. Most need the fat to grow.I know there are some obese kids that need it but not the average to even some larger kid. I know that's how I was put on some weight & grow 3 or 4 inches. When I got out of high school I was 165 to 170 & now I range 185 to 195 & still eat quite a bit.Not like when I was in high school .For instance my dad told me & my brother to slow down on the milk & drink some water.Than sounds bad on the first look now the rest of the story .Because he at least wanted some for his cereal & he wasn't going to buy more than 2 gallons a day.
  2. This is from reply #2 in the topic.I would say he didn't fool me.Neither did the media. tommie : I could argue the milk & juice either way.It depends on an individuals metabolism whether this is true or not.For an active kid without a sugar metabolism problem it is fine. If you have a sugar problem then fruit juice & a lot less milk spikes the insulin from the blood sugar rise which dorps it too low. This causes a continous eating cycle in susceptable people .Therefore weight gain .Funny thing the people that don't like milk in the diet use skim milk which has more sugar & will spike insulin worse than whole milk(or what they call whole milk.) As for the junk in it unless you raise it all yourself then everyone gets the bad junk. I like peanut butter too.& not the healthy kind real guinine Peter Pan. waterRTBH: It's just Shug & me are secure in our manhood. It's over there *points* .& calling us pointy headed isn't necessary.
  3. Indestructable;Keep us informed of what you get & The MCE services you do disable. It might help someone else.
  4. MYRIAGON ;I thought it was newer so it fooled me completly.I didn't think it was that ugly.I think a little front modification & it would be a fair looking car. Roco :Pretty cool finding a Singer .You might not have looked as close if you hadn't seen it here first. So far I've only seen photos.Too bad you didn't find the owner you could have told him the steering wheel was on the wrong side.
  5. Indestructable ;I haven't done this to my PC but I had looked into it some since I have a lot of VHS movies I would like to use a VCR to my PC to burn to DVD. If you already have a video & sound card you think produce good enough results you might look at on of the less expensive capture cards. I'm putting in links to dealtime & newegg.dealtime had more information but newegg had better prices .So check each & get the best price. I also found a how to you might not need it but I"m putting in the link incase . http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/318 VHS to DVD how to http://www.dealtime.com/xGS-leadtek_winfast_tv2000 has 4 this brand http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Sabrent_Sabrent_TV_Tuner_Video_Capture_MPEG_Recording_PCI_Card_with_Remote_Control A little cheaper at newegg. Leadtek TV2000XP/EXPERT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814122180 Sabrent TV-PCIRC (TVPCIRC) Video Capture http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815276002
  6. MYRIAGON ;I haven't found the little silver car.I sure don't know what it is right now.
  7. I will say one thing it might not be the capacitors. If you have a lot of bad capacitors something probably did surge a lot of power through the circuit .The ones I replaced were a known problem for my motherboard. Capacitors have a certain life span & are intended to wear out.when the begin to wear out the begin to swell .They usually dome the top. They are still partially doing their job like this just not effectivly. So If you only have a few bad ones & want to try it before replacing the motherboard then do it . Heres a little information on capacitors: An electrolytic capacitor is a type of capacitor with a larger capacitance per unit volume than other types, making them valuable in relatively high-current and low-frequency electrical circuits. This is especially the case in power-supply filters, where they store charge needed to moderate output voltage and current fluctuations, in rectifier output, and especially in the absence of rechargeable batteries that can provide similar low-frequency current capacity. They are also widely used as coupling capacitors in circuits where AC should be conducted but DC should not; the large value of the capacitance allows them to pass very low frequencies without carrying DC. Electrical behavior of electrolytics A common modelling circuit for an electrolytic capacitor has the following schematic: where Rleakage is the leakage resistance, RESR is the equivalent series resistance, LESL the equivalent series inductance (L being the conventional symbol for inductance). RESR must be as small as possible since it determines the loss power when the capacitor is used to smooth voltage. Loss power scales quadratically with the ripple current flowing through and linearly with RESR. Low ESR capacitors are imperative for high efficiencies in power supplies. It should be pointed out that this is only a simple model and does not include all the effects associated with real electrolytic capacitors. Since the electrolytes evaporate, design life is most often rated in hours at a set temperature. For example, typically as 2000 hours at 105 degrees Celsius (which is the highest working temperature). Design life doubles for each 10 degrees lower, reaching 15 years at 45 degrees.
  8. I would like to take credit for the PSYCHO-BILLY CADILLAC but I have to give it to the original Johnny Cash http://www.amazon.com/gp/music/clipserve/B00005Y1M2002013/0/ref=mu_sam_wma_002_013/102-7487284-1912959 One Piece At A Time Lyrics by Johnny Cash Well, I left Kentucky back in '49 An' went to Detroit workin' on a 'sembly line The first year they had me puttin' wheels on cadillacs Every day I'd watch them beauties roll by And sometimes I'd hang my head and cry 'Cause I always wanted me one that was long and black. One day I devised myself a plan That should be the envy of most any man I'd sneak it out of there in a lunchbox in my hand Now gettin' caught meant gettin' fired But I figured I'd have it all by the time I retired I'd have me a car worth at least a hundred grand. [CHORUS] I'd get it one piece at a time And it wouldn't cost me a dime You'll know it's me when I come through your town I'm gonna ride around in style I'm gonna drive everybody wild 'Cause I'll have the only one there is a round. So the very next day when I punched in With my big lunchbox and with help from my friends I left that day with a lunch box full of gears Now, I never considered myself a thief GM wouldn't miss just one little piece Especially if I strung it out over several years. The first day I got me a fuel pump And the next day I got me an engine and a trunk Then I got me a transmission and all of the chrome The little things I could get in my big lunchbox Like nuts, an' bolts, and all four shocks But the big stuff we snuck out in my buddy's mobile home. Now, up to now my plan went all right 'Til we tried to put it all together one night And that's when we noticed that something was definitely wrong. The transmission was a '53 And the motor turned out to be a '73 And when we tried to put in the bolts all the holes were gone. So we drilled it out so that it would fit And with a little bit of help with an A-daptor kit We had that engine runnin' just like a song Now the headlight' was another sight We had two on the left and one on the right But when we pulled out the switch all three of 'em come on. The back end looked kinda funny too But we put it together and when we got thru Well, that's when we noticed that we only had one tail-fin About that time my wife walked out And I could see in her eyes that she had her doubts But she opened the door and said "Honey, take me for a spin." So we drove up town just to get the tags And I headed her right on down main drag I could hear everybody laughin' for blocks around But up there at the court house they didn't laugh 'Cause to type it up it took the whole staff And when they got through the title weighed sixty pounds. [CHORUS] I got it one piece at a time And it didn't cost me a dime You'll know it's me when I come through your town I'm gonna ride around in style I'm gonna drive everybody wild 'Cause I'll have the only one there is around. [spoken] Ugh! Yow, RED RYDER This is the COTTON MOUTH In the PSYCHO-BILLY CADILLAC Come on Huh, This is the COTTON MOUTH And negatory on the cost of this mow-chine there RED RYDER You might say I went right up to the factory And picked it up, it's cheaper that way Ugh!, what model is it?
  9. turner7205;Oddly enough I just replaced some bad capacitors on my motherboard.I have an IBM & the problem it was causing was different. So I can't say if the ones in yours are the problem or if it is the power supply. Some Capacitors are suppoed to leak when bad mine were just swelled.(Kind of bulged at the top.) I had to remove the motherboard & unsolder the old ones & solder in 3 new ones.So far mine is working great. So look for swelled or leaking caps. The bad ones were Chhsi brand but several companies were supposed to have produced bad one because a compound they used was wrong & couldn't take the heat. If you feel cmfortable removing the mother board & soldering. Then try to find new one that are the same specs. My bad ones were 560
  10. tdawnaz: When I made the identification .I hadn't checked the tail light on all the models.I checked a 1965 & the ones in you picture didn't match.I now think it is just the picture. Since they don't match any of the 3 Marlin year models. The first pic is the tail light on your pic.The next 3 are 65,66 & 67 marlin tail lights. This is one of the ways to identify a car.I think something may have compressed the pic you used producing a distorted tail light.I cleaned it up as much as I could. tommie ;That is the Pink Panther car.I'm not much on the color but I liked the car.Bettr for the passengers than the driver.
  11. coknuck ;You got it. Heres some Baracudas.Check out this java slide show at this site.Pretty cool. http://www.cars-on-line.com/24019.html Notice how the rear window changes
  12. tommie ;Do you know the car in my post. It's like the picture says ."not a Marlin"
  13. I'm not sure of the exact year yet but 1965 Rambler Marlin. This was my first guess. To refine it down by the 1967 model it would technecally be an AMC Marlin. I believe this one is a 1967 AMC Marlin. An early cuda would have a lot more rear glass. Not to be confused with the car in the picture below
  14. I don't like buttermilk by itself but I use it to make cornbread because nothing else works as well. I've tried regular milk & it's not the same. Also Hidden Valley Ranch dressing makes a dry mix .They make one with dry buttermilk in it that you add regular milk to & one that you use buttermilk with .The second one tastes the best.To me anyway.
  15. Here's a few one is the Munster car .I don't have a make & model of the second one only the TV series it was mad for.

    PC Issue

Do you have a 98 or ME start up disk? And all it should take is scandisk no .exe on it Try this at the prompt dir /w/p to see if the Explorer file is in C:Windows or to look for the i386 directory then go to the C:/ & do the same. If the i386 file is there to look in it will be at the prompt cdwindows|i386 the prompt will look like this C:windowsi386> there type dir /w/p then try with C: also

igarek77 ;Since you mispelled it I want to make sure. It's scandisk. If you spell it skandisk it won't work.

    PC Issue

igarek77; You may not have to use the cd comand at the prompt jusd D: then enter for D: But if the prompt is C:Windows> & you want C: then you use cd enter but for D: usually just D: enter. I would at least try scandisk just type it at the prompt not the D: promt though.

    PC Issue

igarek77 ; I'm going to suggest a thing or two to try before you reformat If you haven't already. To start with do you have the administrator password if one was ever set up? Then at the command prompt try scandisk & do the full one instead of chkdsk /r. Since it's XP I don't think you have any scanreg options. Then I don't know if you have extract options form the comand prompt so you may have to use copy options.I will use the common way but C: is the HD your Windows is on & D: is your CD/ROM.You need to find Explorer .exe on the original CD & copy or extract it to C:Windows. This should replace the corrupt one. If this fails there may be a file you can access & do the same thing I think it would be either C:i386 or C:Windows |i386 if you have this an install copy of explorer.exe should be there. If you are not familar with DOS then I'm not sure you can do this. But the commands should be like this: prompt extract (this is the directory the install explorer.exe is located in) explorer.exe then prompt copy explorer.exe C:Windows If this doesn't work with your prompt then a copy of a Windows 98 or ME startup disc may let you into a useable DOS to try this. If not try to search testmy for instructions on using scannow in XP. If you get in then burn the data you want to CD & reformat if you still are having problems. I hope this helps.

    weird thing going on..

kamil234;If you did the kind of reformat that wipes the HD clean & installs Windows like new then you are running on the stock windows drivers. If anything (hardware, etc) needs a newer driver or one the Windows doesn't have & opts for the best standard driver it does have. The there's the problem..If it is a video card overheating problem then the drivers won't help & That's the place to look.Or if you have a temp sensor on the video card check it.
  21. MYRIAGON ;You're correct.a 1960 Datsun pickup. It could be a late 1959 That's when the first one arrived. Datsun 1000 only featured a 1000cc, 37-horsepower 4-cylinder engine and a quarter-ton load capacity, it was the precursor of better things to come. In immediate iterations, the engine size increased to 1200cc and horsepower to 60.
  22. dlewis23 ;I been a car guy since I could crawl so no wonder.I do leave some for the rest to guess. I never did get a 100% ID on the old Mercedes & I took the picture.I just forgot to label it.I think it is a 1935 or 1936 Mercedes 500K Special Roadster. Heres you one to identify.
  23. dlewis23;I think it's a Datsun King cab year model is more difficult say 1977 to 1980 Doomsday ;Not exactly the stock engine on that one.Was it a Rampage or Scamp? Or do you remember?
  24. coknuck thats correct they also made a Plymouth Scamp that was the same vehicle like a lot of Mopar. But Rampage is a lot cooler name.
  25. coknuck;I had a little advantage .The second car I learned to drive in was a 1954 Buick Special 4 door sedan. It was also my granddads but it was his good car so he didn't let me drive it till I had a learners permit .Then he always accompanied me in it even after I got my full licsense. Now I know why.Back then I didn't. tommie;I kind of mix it up hard & easy but if I get almost all of them that bores people too. I always liked these too bad the stopped making them.A lot more aerodnymic than most small pickups
