  1. Yeah water & tdawnaz were having a joking discussion before the Birthday wish I made.I added the drink milk as part of that. Then it all kind of got out of control.Aggr3 finally cleaned it up.I hope The Dog didn't get to much advanced learning.I actually hadn't checked his age & thought he was some older or I probably wouldn't have made the Drink Milk reference. But other than Birthday wishes we need to let the other go.
  2. coknuck;I haven't looked for the exact model but 1954 or 55 Buick Special or Skylark series.
  3. MYRIAGON;Good answer on the Golden Rocket. On the Ford Fairlane retractable hardtop one of my uncles has one.The top retractc into the trunk but it still has trunk space .There is an area the is a rectangle made of metal walls that is under the center of the top when it's retracted,This is where lugage & other items go. I think there is a modern car with a retractable top also .I need to check but I think some models of the Mercedes Kompressor have a retractable top.
  4. Here's another concept car:
  5. The Dog ;Ask your mom & wet nurse tdawnaz
  6. Instead of a belated Happy Birthday which can seem a little lame. How about an early one? [move] HAPPY BIRTHDAY [/move] [move] 2007[/move] [move] the Dog [/move] [move] DRINK MILK [/move]
  7. MYRIAGON ;This is the ones you posted. 1954 Corvette Nomad Wagon Concept. Chevy developed a series of concept vehicles based on the new Corvette. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your viewpoint), the Corvette part of the equation never materialized. Of course, Chevy did release the Nomad the following year under the the Belair line. As far as I know, this is the only one ever made by Chevy. amc11890;coknuck got it
  8. coknuck; That is it .Can't fool an old car guy for long.I actually like this better than the Corvette.Maybe it's the heavy Chrome in the front .
  9. It's not a Corvette or even a Chevrolet thats why it's one of a kind. There were a few others made but all but this one was destroyed.& it was more or less smuggled out in pieces & reassembled. But legal I guess it sold at auction last year for $3,240,000 . That might make it the world's most expensive car.
  10. Some members may not read the News so I'm puting this in.Please sign the net neutrality petition.Post here when you have.I posted in the News topic as well. But a list here will do fine to show signers. http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=15824.0 So signed ;cholla
  11. I thought I would post pics of this one of a kind prototype. Can you identify it?
  12. I forgot to actually sign so here you go: Cholla Even if you already got the change & maybe global mod too.
  13. I'll put in my vote .I better not suggest one for me I just might get it. If I believed in astrology then I would be a fire sign As an Aries Mars would be the ruling planet or god of war.If any of it holds "water" then that might explain some of my hawk nature.
  14. Since tommie is alergic to cats I won't say what some of my pets are.I actually like both. There are good housecats & there are bad ones that never should be anything but outside. I will say this any pet I have had for many years has been spayed or neutered. So I have helped by not adding to the prpblem. water : I would love to always live the way of peace. But I also believe in knowing my enemy. The Iraqis at least I know they live by the sword & them I know to use the same or better against them. It's the ones like Bush you have to watch who pretend to be on our side but are the real enemy. I will confess to being somewhat hypocritical in this: I'm a Christian & do believe in "Thou shalt not kill" but somewhere the American who can trace ancestors back to the Revolution & further (Not counting the Native American ones) takes over .In this I am willing to kill to preserve the American freedoms & die trying if I have to.But I intend to do everything I can to prevent death. If i can win with words I will but i also remember how many battles that were won against the Native Americans with words called treaties. The correct word would be lies.So wheres the honor in those battles won with words. I will end with a song lyric: Smiling faces tell lies, beware of the handshake that hides the snake.
  15. water;I do speak up.I just don't have the same podium The Duke did. Even those with a larger audience sometimes have trouble getting their message across.Look at Charton Heston the media always made fun of him for his NRA stance.I guess you could figure I'm a NRA supporter.Even if it becomes necessary I do dread the day when I might have to decide to take up arms against the United States government to straiten things out. With the hope that this would not result in another government that was worse & not willing to use the original Constitution as a basis for the law. I'm more of a Sargent & we need a General.
  16. If I understand the Homestead laws in Texas. They have to wait for the owner to die & then take it from the estate if they can't pay the back taxes & late penalty fees. That's only if the have it registered as their homestead.& The amount of land you can do this with is also limited. This also depends on in town or rural on the amount of land.
  17. I can't install IE7 with Windows ME so I have IE6. So I guess IE7 makes more noise than IE6 ? Just joking a minute ago but the jungle sounds a cool for a short time.
  18. tommie:eminate domain could be a possibility for their side.It kind of depends on where the courts go with thi.It is beginnig to meet more opposition when it's private business using it. If used by the government it's supposed to be something for the general public good. I need to do a little Constitutional search of eminate domain to see if it's even in the Constitution. For mineral rights I can't see it involves any minerals except brass balls.
  19. ***water gets her head back together & didn't miss any rocks or marbles***
  20. dn0 ;If you have Plus it's in my Program files try the jungle theme sometime.I also use none most of the time.
  21. Roco;Still curious do they tax you per television? A side on this do they tax you for your computer? third have you consisered one of the TV tuners for a PC or would they find that? I really can't imagine some inspector coming to see if I had a TV. Here anything of this type would violate "free speech" rights because we not only have the right to speak freely but to hear freely also. You do hear of some of the satellite companies that sell Television programs.Like the one I use Dish.Going after people with their own descramblers or decoder boxes whatever you want to call them.I still think if these people used the right to hear free speech it would be a good defense. I have thought I should sue them for not paying me a lease fee for the microwaves the hit my property with.I think there would be precedence for this since they say the ones with the decoding equipment are stealing these microwaves from them.So why should they be allowed to hit my property with their property for free.
  22. philp ;Try the Settings tab.I'm putting in a screen shot of mine.It doesn't have a rotation setting .If it did this is where it should be.I guess some video cards might have their own control panel in programs.
  23. That's the best way .it turns off Windows sounds. It still lets you leave the volume control on so if you want to listen to something on the internet you can.You can use mute when you want to also. I just have IE6 in it there is a setting in Internet Options/advanced under multimedia to "turn off sound in web pages" .That would probably work but not what you would want.
  24. For different connection tweaking just use CableNut & have several .css files. On advertising I doubt if the news paper is the best way.How many computer users are going to read the newspaper to find computer service.Few would be my guess. So you need a business phone number & at least one yellow pages listing under the approiate topic.More topics if you can afford it & an actual ad.Most of these can contain your website as well.If you don't have one you need one for this type of business especially.Or how do you explain that you service computers but don't have a web site. Don't mind charging for a service call.Everyone you make takes your time, fuel, & wear on the vehicle you use.All your other expenses figure into this as well. So a minimum service call fee. My dad was in business for himself for several years as an appliance repairman. He didn't mind charging his minimum even if the problem was something had just gotten unplugged . You can't stay in business if you don't make money.Especially at first. If you get it going well & want to do something pro bono go ahead.
