  1. Mine is just one 13.5 GB HD partitioned C,D. & E. Used space usually between 1.5 & 2 GB.
  2. I just tried the Yahoo search it worked fine.I use IE .
  3. maddoghunter ;Easy Cleaner is a good tool & I have used it in the past. This duplicate files feature will get you into trouble though. It's best to leave it alone I found this out the hard way & had to reformat.A lot of the files are supposed to be duplicates Windows needs them in both locations.& if you check some are not exact duplicates. This is for someone that really knows what they're doing. That wouldn't be me either. But for the other cleaning functions it has it's pretty good.It doesn't clean out cookies or temporary internet files from Firefox either.
  4. Hi Roco; These are simular to the ones I had at one time. They're not water filled (oil of some kind) water wouldn't work because it would freeze.Probaly not enough viscosity either. These are actually called automatic wheel balancers.I think you were telling me about an older style Brit damper here I think it would be called a shock absorber. My brother's TR3 has the old lever action ones on the rear. http://www.mrtruck.net/centramatic.htm I have something else I want to find that I think you might find interesting.I just need to surf for it.
  5. tdawnaz;Ok I did say" So I'm for 100% of law abiding citizens being armed" but not in the qupye Roco put in his post.I quess I needed to add more to each.On this one I agree with that but since some would want to use a j-walking ticket to call an American citizen not law abidding. I would need to limit those restricted in their "Right to bear arms "to major violent crimes. In other words even those that don't have the right any more that were in prison for white collar crimes like Martha Stewart could again bear arms.Right now most like Martha can't legally any way. Same as I needed to add to the other post "abuse their right to bear arms " instead of just "right". Roco: Texas population in 2000 was 20,851,820 Texas Area: 268601 sq.mi The United Kingdom is a small nation in physical size. At 244,110 sq km (94,251 sq mi), Your population estimate was about correct. so Texas is some larger & about 1/3 the population of the United Kingdom. I thought more of the citizens would have been armed in the WW 1 & 2.I guess plenty of the military was & wasn't about every male that was breathing in the military or just about? Probably like here in the places to shoot too much land in private hands. So plent of good hunting & shooting area you just can't use it.We are lucky I can go about 35 miles to a public hunting area .& there are 3 local shooting ranges.Probably some private & law enforcement ones too. On the teacher being able to stop the killing .Well if the teacher was a dead on shot & saw the men with guns come in then shoot first & ask questions later. If they were killed before they got off the first shot the no children would have been killed.Just because I feel in America people have the right to carry a gun anywhere any time any place it doesn't mean they can't be security checked first. But if they come up with a clean record & want to sit in the court room armed to the teeth then I don't have a problem with that.Might even assure better justice.
  6. Roco;I think I have am idea of what the inertia dampers are.I remember they had a disks you could just put behind the wheel that was liquid filled that was suposed to do this .I haven't seen any for years. Kind if like water injection where you had a small electric water pump that went to a mist jet that you mounted in the top of the air cleaner. So you could get the benefit of the denser air in the combustion chamber.Probably less necessary in England.
  7. WARNING : Just don't use it to make projectiles out of potatoes FallowEarth .
  8. Roco ;I didn't say law abiding that leaves too much room to take away someones guns. The guy wit a couple of traffic tickets or a parakeet that disturbs the neighbors late at night so he's guilty of disturbing the peace should be able to keep his guns. I said the above I guess I should have put abuse their right to bear arms. For the two guys that went crazy & killed the children prosecute them for their crime .Don't punish everyone else for it too.Point is even if they had been members of your gun club & you had been where they killed the children& were also armed .How many children would they have killed before you started shooting them? I'm betting not many.So if their were some people armed where this happened I think the number of children killed would have been less.Maybe none because know others would probably be armed & stop them they might have thought twice before going on their killing spree. I don't like to go into conspiracy theory but did you ever think they could have been government plants ?Some children were expendable so the government laws on guns could be made stricter with less objection. It is different here because of the Constitution but England sure has no problem with their citizens being armed when Germans were attacking them.& would not again if they were being attacked.Either it's not on their agenda which is what I think or they fail to see that a major portion of citizens being armed would stop a lot of the terrorism & other crimes.Of course ocassionally someone would be killed that wouldn't of if they took all the guns. But the same could be said about a lot more that are killed by cars, planes ,trains,& even pets.I don't see them stopping these just because they kill.So why pick on guns.
  9. tommie;I didn't mean Americans were already disarmed.I'm not either.I mean for the USA to join the "One Government World"I see coming They want Americans disarmed.I think this is part of our governments agenda as well as the European Unions.I just meant watch & see.& I will be shoting the ones that come for my guns so I guess I will be dead after that.It will be the rests wory. IF you really believe in the Second Amendment then you have to beleive an American citizen should have the right to be armed any place any time.We have laws to deal with the ones that abuse their right & turn criminal. That's part of being an American & part of the "Home of the Brave" Were not afraid of being shot as much because everyone should be armed. It's no different to die here because everyone is allowed to have the freedom & some abuse it than to go somewhere else to protect others freedom. In fact it's even more important here.So I'm for 100% of law abiding citizens being armed.

It just kind of depends with me.If I'm in a hurry I use default.I like the blacken even if there isn't a GL blacken.I ocassionally GL red.
  11. asubaseball727 ;Probably should check FallowEarth's link .On my IBM the double beep means it want's the BIOS administrator password. If you use the BIOS user password you really can't do anything. Dell may be different. These are completly different from Windows passwords. You last post came up when I was posting. Are you in your BIOS ? You don't even need a HD for BIOS. It is all on your CMOS chip I think. It should have Something about HD,s it should be in the same area as floppy,cd,dvd drives.
  12. Sharky2006 ;I found some more information that you might want. This is for XP so I couldn't test it.What I think it does is deletes the Index.dat files on reboot so Windows hat to start new ones so this clears most of the data from them.Since your using a dummy for I think your cookies index.dat you might not wany that one in the list. Heres a link to the site with the info. http://www.markusjansson.net/eienbid.html read:Solution for Index.dat files dilemma I DLed the program there that was for Windows ME.It works a lot different.I didn't like the way it worked but with it I modified the .bat file it installed. So instead of deleting the index.dat files in Cookies,Temporary internet files ,& history it wipes & overwrites them with usless data.I did this by combining the .bat with my Eraser version 5.8 which can run from DOS. This actually overwrites them 3 times & If I wanted to let it I think it would overwrite up to 35 times. That would slow my boot a bit though. I wasn't able to use unlocker because it is for windows 2000 & up.So far I haven't found one for windows ME or 98 .If I did I would give the dummy index.dat a try.Me won't take a dummy name .If you try from DOS it will let me rename but on reboot it still installs a new index.dat.That's why I thought the overwritten one would be better. If they build in size I can always go into DOS a delete them.
  13. Hi all;I know double post but I wanted this how to separate. Sharky2006 ; I'm not sure if unlocker.exe will work the same for these index.dat files .If this unhides them for you.I couldn't test it because it is not for WindowsME.If not you will have to find a software that will.I can delete them in DOS.I actually use a wiper program from DOS instead but delete would work. It's just deleted information can still be recovered with the right software like the government would use if the seized your HD.A wiper makes this much harder. If you find some index.dat in other areas it would probably work for them too.Since I don't know the effect of doing this to other areas you should do it one at a time .So if you have a functionality problem you will know where it is.You might also enable your "system restore" if you have it disabled & make sure it has a new restore point. Just in case. First do this: search *index.dat Just to start out with this warning.Save the CLSID & UICLSID deleted from all the desktop.ini They should be as below but in case their not you need to save them to notepad then as a .txt file If you want to return your OS to the way it was you will need to put them back. From temporary Internet files desktop.ini. UICLSID={7BD29E00-76C1-11CF-9DD0-00A0C9034933} type in run: C:WindowsTemporary Internet Filesdesktop.ini History removed:C:WindowsHistorydesktop.ini UICLSID={7BD29E00-76C1-11CF-9DD0-00A0C9034933} CLSID={FF393560-C2A7-11CF-BFF4-444553540000} The index.dat file is conveniently hidden on many versions of windows, even when you have hidden files set to be shown. Below I have written about two methods you may use to discover this file - the second method is more useful, in my case, but you may find the first method easier to perform. You can, however, locate these files if you know the DIRECT path to them. Example for History folder: C:windowsHistoryHistory.IE5index.dat Browse to that location in Windows Explorer, and you will get a box asking if you want to open or save that file. The Temporary Internet Files index.dat file can also be found under: (ex.) C:windowsTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5index.dat NOTE: The following method is only recommended if you know what you are doing. TWEAK: There is an even easier method to making the directory structure of your Temporary Internet Files folder visible (and, thus, you will now be able to see the index.dat file too!) 1.) Browse to your temporary internet files folder. 2.) Look at the path in Windows explorer...add a "desktop.ini" to the path name to open a special hidden file.1 3.) Make sure to open this file in Notepad. 4.) Save a backup copy to a folder on your desktop (or anywhere else for that matter) but make sure to change the ending to .txt. 5.) Close Notepad, and follow the steps above to open the file again. 6.) Now, delete the line that says the following: UICLSID={7BD29E00-76C1-11CF-9DD0-00A0C9034933} It may be slightly different, but there should be only one UICLSID. 7.) Save the file and close all Windows Explorer windows. 8.) Browse to your Temporary Internet Files folder again, and voila! You now can see your index.dat file, and all the weird folders that Internet Explorer actually stores file in. You can follow the same method for your History folder, but instead delete the line that looks like this: CLSID={FF393560-C2A7-11CF-BFF4-444553540000} WARNING: Using this method for the History folder will remove its functionality from within Internet Explorer. (You will see all of the folders, etc.) Saving a backup of the desktop.ini file is HIGHLY recommended. (Remember to rename the extension)
  14. The trouble is you have XP.In WindowsME where I can use real DOS I can see it & it's size.It is not the same one that's in cookies. So there are at least 2. The locotion of mine in DOS is C:windowstempor~1content.ie5 then I use the dir command to see the files. C:WINDOWS>cdwindowstempor~1content.ie5 C:WINDOWSTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE5>dir Volume in drive C has no label Volume Serial Number is 0951-18E4 Directory of C:WINDOWSTemporary Internet FilesContent.IE . <DIR> 09-08-06 5:19p . .. <DIR> 09-08-06 5:19p .. INDEX DAT 147,456 09-09-06 2:06a index.dat 1 file(s) 147,456 bytes 2 dir(s) 5,560.57 MB free
  15. Sharky2006;I haven't tried this because the max size my Index.dat file gets is 32KB .How much slowdown could that cause anyway.I do manually delete it once a month or so.Just to clear it out.I did do something simular to my system restore file. But not for speed increase. Since I don't use it a dummy file for it keeps any virus form being able to hide in it. But I say if it helped you Great.
  16. I used to debate with peepnklown & like it or not he defends a lot of his points fairly well. The Patriot Act does worry me& I find it just as unConstitutional as peepnklown does.I see it as cowardly always being so afraid that we need to step on everyones rights.Like the national anthem says we are supposed to be the home of the brave. If some citizens get killed because we have too much freedom then that's the cost of freedom. Therefore I hate the Patriot Act & whats been done with it. I see the need for FEMA & the need for it to make people do things necessary for their safety. So far incompetence has been FEMA's worst flaw.& I don't think it has been used to take rights away .At least so far. Wait till you see the government start stepping on the Second Amendment some more.I see this in days to come so be ready. The reason is a lot of the so called civilized world has already disarmed its citizens. When the push comes for the USA to become part of the "One government World" They want us disarmed .I think this is part of the reason for the war on terrorism to try to civilize the middleeastern countries & disarm them to. Don't take me wrong I will defend the Constitution or die trying .I hope American soldiers will do the same & refuse to fire on fellow Americans. But they have before & can again .Even if it was National Guard don't forget Kent State.
  17. I guess we won't have too buy so much from OILQUEDA. On Roco's serious note I've wondered what the effects of pumping out trillions of gallons of oil. Not that I think it has a lubricant effect. But it is mass removed & we sure have a lot of earthquakes. Some more volcano erruptions too.
  18. For those that want to fix their .ico files here are some suggestions.I know php got ratchet going. But this just gave him new files to use.I think the problem is in the folder options file association but I put in a couple of more suggested fixes too. You may have the .ico file association as Control Panel & need to remove the association.I think you could do that in the area below. Change the Default Action To change the default action for a file type: 1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Folder Options to open the Folder Options dialog box. 2. Click the File Types tab. 3. In the File Types list, click the file extension you want to modify. 4. Click the Advanced button to open the Edit File Type dialog box. 5. Click the command that you want to make the default command, and then click Set Default. 6. Click OK, then click Close. Uncheck "Always use this program to open these files " - [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTUnknownshellopenascommand]: Default is c:windowsrundll32.exe Shell32.dll,OpenAs_Rundll %1 - Change it to c:windowsrundll32.exe Shell32.dll,OpenAs_Rundll %1 %2 - Close regedit, and hit F5. Fix Icons (If Windows shows the wrong icons) Windows XP - Go to C:Documents and Settings{username}Local SettingsApplication Data - Delete IconCache.db - Reboot
  19. MYRIAGON;I've never driven a Corvair pickup or van only the car & it wasn't one of the turbo spyders.I think if you look in this topic I posted some pics of the Corvair pickup & one shows the side open. My dad drove an Econoline van for a long time. There was a man here that had a customizing shop that drove an Econoline pickup he customized .Really cool looking. This was in the late 70's so I don't know where the pickup would be now. I guess it is here instead: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=14699.msg153292#msg153292
  20. No problem I was just happy I found it.Have you ever driven a Corvair.I've never owned one But a friend of mine had a couple. They were just regular production ones .But they would cruise at 80 mph.I found some of the Corvair concepts while looking for the one you posted.
  21. MYRIAGON ;I almost had it I was finding it when you posted. If I hadn't checked out one called the Fitch Phoenix first I would have posted before you did.O well maybe next time. 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza GT Concept
  22. Check Ray Stevens "The Haircut Song" it has a part about loggers.
  23. I saw a key stroke logger mentioned on a movie last night called "Not My Life".That's the movie name not the logger name.
  24. coknuck;I haven't been able to indentfy the last car you posted. The grill looks like old Buick & the headlight covers look like a Cord's headlight covers.I just can't find the car.
