i use 256 and it works just fine all u have to do is power off all those system services things that windows loads by defult or get added there later there are ways to tweek your comp to get the best of your ram or theres always linux wich does mirricles with even 192 mbs of ram and a 800 mhz proccesor i play half life on it but then again i once got it to run on 96 mbs of ram not online but on a local server

do it in yahoo or aol aol will keep track of how much email u recieve dsayly at lest they did a few years back

for now anyway as games become more graphical u will need to upgrade it but who knows it could b another year maybe even 5 years or more before apllications and games require 4gb of ram to operate

getting one of those timer things from waltmat copuld damage your pc as it would not shut down properly u could c a few blue screens of dead and maybe a fried hard drive as a result go with some software instead or put it on the modem only and not the pc

if noise is a prblem add static proof paper inside make it think and the noise is muffled a bit sometimes it makes it echo depending on the paper and position or make a cabinet for it out of air vents i seen ppl do that and use air filters to keep it more quite and clean 2 make sure u use vents on both sides of the cabinet better if its made out of rubber or plastic vents so theres less static make it big so u can give about 3 inches away from the pc case to the air vents to prevent static discharge

my neighbor a cross the street has a netgear 1 and i can use it in my house thats probably 75 ft i get 32% strenght on my psp on the room closes to his houseif i stand right outside next to the same wall i get 80% my wall is a lil thick i guess and kills it a bit oh im a psp a laptop does way better
