If your running XP go to Cmd and type msconfig then go to startup folder and un-check....that will stop it.... If not XP let me know and I'll tell you how for your O.S.....but it seems like I remember you saying a long time ago that you ran XP..... Microwave

No .s1 its not dumb, its things that we all think about a lot of the time, ya did the right thing by asking other ppls opinion. Most all decisions I make I run it by ppl to see if maybe I'm missing something, then I evaluate all the info and make a decision, only thing I try to keep in mind is to not regret the decision once I make it, ya know I try not to second guess my self, I vote with VanBuren go for the car deal, computer deals will keep on coming and a car for most ppl is more of a necessity... (LOL not for us though) either way you will have something you need and want, the neat thing is ya got ppl that care and were willing to help you, thats a cool thing in life.... It is a kinda fun thing but I don't really see the need for it...... and I'm very sensitive and I cant sleep well at nite because I worry so much about why I got smited and the shame is close to unbearable........... Microwave

Yeah this site has been around for some time and is actually an upgrade from a previous version. Its my understanding that its primary purpose is as a "Network Diagnostic Tester" and it does have links to other useful sites. The browser testing site was designed by Fred Langa , from the Langa newsletter, he puts out a free letter every Sunday and a upgraded letter which you must pay for. He does have one of the better stress tester for browsers around IMO. The only "problem" I have with the NDT is that the speed test is not always accurate of course thats not its sole purpose, for sure there is more info than anyone could ever use in a lifetime if you are just a P.C. user. But it still is a really cool site and worth a visit and I would encourage everyone to subscribe to the Langa letter (free) as there are always at least 1or2 tips that can help most ppl....... have fun... IMHO the first choice to ground "anything" is an earth ground (rod), second to a cold water pipe, third to electrical pipe(direct home run)..... I have seen many instances where ppl went for many years without any ground for electronic equipment and thought all was OK until the components got fried. The worst case of lightning damage I had ever seen was lightning hitting a Church steeple and we could actually see the path of the power where it cooked the card file in the phone system and computers and most other electronic componets......... ya cant fool Mother nature..... Interesting because of all the tweaks I have tried TCP Optimizer works the best for me also, I'm just wondering if this is just a fluke for you two users or if in fact this will continue to allow you to get the speeds you pay for?? Could this be called an epiphany ?

Yep big boy toys can get 2b big bucks, In the late 70's I had a slot car (just went on a track and had to pay each time) that the controller was almost $200.00 and ppl told me I was out of my mind....LOL that could be true but it was a lot of fun.... LOL in reality all thats stuff is way overpriced but guys like me will buy it......... some ppl say the same thing about high dollar computers ........... but we all know there is no such thing as a to expensive computer....
