mbrainerd, Ahhhh that makes perfect sense, if your using VOIP your savings will be worth the cost, its just a shame they wont give you more speed for that kind of money..... but its still a smart move on your part, when I last worked the VOIP that I used came from the company and since they were in the business they wanted everyone to have it, it started out a little shaky but has evolved into a good product and very cost efficient as in your case..... thanks for all the info.. Although Dial^Up may not be very popular, for some its the only game in town I think it is a connection that will always be around if for no other reason as a back-up system. I am putting a link to an article that may interest ppl whether they use it or not.... http://www.emsisoft.com/en/kb/articles/tec041212/ Microwave

Yeah, I think VanBuren may be correct unless the IP address range is different than what you have allowed.

Cable, Thanks for the spell check, I have always used IE spell in my post this will make it easier, also like the new smiley's could have used a couple of the new ones recently....lol and now the joke!!! Microwave jk A man goes to see his doctor because he has an incredibly small willy and wants to know if anything can be done to help him. The doctor rolls his eyes and says, "Okay, let's have a look." The guy drops his pants. The doctor tries not to laugh and says, "You're right! You definitely need help! But you're in luck because we have a new procedure now that uses thin tissues taken from the trunk of a newborn baby elephant. It doesn't hurt you and doesn't hurt the elephant, so everybody wins." The guy says, "Sign me up!" So he checks into the hospital and has the operation. After convalescing for a while, he gets the courage to ask a girl out on a date. They're having dinner at a nice restaurant, when suddenly his willy rips through his pants, snakes up over the edge of the table, grabs a biscuit, and disappears back under the table. The guy doesn't know what to think, and the girl's eyes are as big as quarters. "Can you do that again?" she asks. The guy gasps and says, "I think so, but I don't think my butt can take another biscuit!"

Unfortunately this is not an exact science, VanBuren has honed his skills with these "tweaks" and there is no doubt in my mind that everything can at least be "normalized" up but, my guess is there can be improvement to what your starting speeds were...so try what is being suggested and if that doesn't work there will be another "tweak" that can be made......good luck....everyone is here to help and VanBuren has helped many, many ppl to archive optimum speed on their computer.... Well the problem could be in the Reg but I dont think so and thats just a guess because another account can function correctly. I think something is screwy with that account or the ASP issue another area that seems to always be overlooked is Winsock it can cause all kinds of strange things to happen.there are a couple of freeware Pgms that can fix a Winsock issue but it defaults the Reg as far as TCP/IP settings are concerned, I suppose if you exported the Reg it could be restored ....only it may just import the problem right back.... The easiest "fix" is new account and move any files to it.

OK same computer different account correct? And both accounts are admins? have you created a new account to see if its able?? And if its the same computer why are you updating from both accounts?? Sorry I think Im missing something here, If you have the same problem that I once had it was because the account was corrupt somehow, I was told by a tech that something was strange with ASP account.and I "fixed" it by making a new account with admin priv and moving all my files to the new account....OK let me know....
