This one is telling him that he has a high packet loss...........which means slow speeds slow browsing and an overall connection that just sucks:( his puter may be running great to other places but to here its not good, now he needs to find out if its a problem with his ISP being able to handshake with the server to here......... I have had similar problem before and its not fun............. Microwave

L G is a manufacturer of cell phones as is Motorola, I have had L G phones in the past and they worked fine, I just got a newer Motorola and it has all the bells, whistles, and gongs. I personally dont think that there is much difference in most of these phones, one thing I look for is talk time, and stand by time on battery before needing recharge........after that its all about what if any features you want.What really makes a difference with a cell phone is that your provider has a service area that works 4u, and that there is a strong enough signal when its time to make a call.The one I just got on Saturday has G.P.S. on it as do all new cell phones which may or may not be a feature I will ever want , need , or use unless I have some kind of emergancy..........anyway good luck and beware of all the features that seem cheap until you use them and then get the bill. BTW my new cell pictures are not very good but luckily I still have a Kodiak instamatic camera that I know how to use if I feel the urge to take a picture.....I don't want to play games or take pictures or get email or browse the web....I just want to make a phone call and hear and not get cut off while talking.....lol :) At least they are smaller, the first one I had weighed about 6or7 pounds and was bigger than a kids lunch box......... Casemental, First welcome to the site and I hope you enjoy,we dont know what your setup is....you know what O.S. you have etc.......... although some people dont use or like this feature , if you have Win XP you might first try a system restore and see if it will roll you back to a point where everything was OK....also if you have XP there is a app called WntIpcfg.exe, and you could try that ...here is a screen-shot that show what it is and what you can do, I have used this many times before to clear problems.....good luck and lets us know and give more info if you need more more help:) Microwave

Sorry you guys have such low speeds for such big money connections.......it sure makes me appreciate how good and cheap my setup is. Maybe the day will come soon for you guys to get better speeds somehow for a reasonable price, but as long as so many people are willing to pay AOL $24.95 per month for what I think is a worthless deal I guess prices will stay high because thats what the consumer is willing to pay!!! OK I will look for article...it was about logitech having problems with XP, and it was some patch that was suggested to be downloaded, I cant remember if the patch was from them or Microsoft, sorry I'm having a brain fart I can only remember reading it and not all the info, but I will look for it:) Microwave

Yes I agree that it is unlikely that the wire for you phone in your house could cause a problem at a certain time, only if you have some other device hooked up that is also using it.....Something that is much more likely is that the central office that your connection comes from could be having a high volume at that time and causes you problems or that your C.O. or another somewhere is having a problem or doing a major reset or any number of other things, next you would need to know if you are coming from an old step office or T-bar or ESS or any other flavor it could shed some lite on your specific problem.Now the bad news is that the Bell company whomever that is for you is under no obligation to do anything especially if you pay for a voice quality line and it falls under the specs of what is acceptable to them and the FEDS. I have seen where fax machines have not worked properly due to line conditions and Ma Bell at least in Arizona didn't have to fix it even after the problem was proved to the A.C.C (Government) that it was a line issue. I know this doesn't help you much but it is the way they play the game!!!!! Microwave
