When you look at the "device manager" what do you see? Does the system recognize these ? Lets us know please and we can look further.... Microwave

I am almost certain we removed this from my friends laptop and reinstalled to solve this problem....I have sent an email to him to see if he remembers exactly how we did this, It is true that it is encrypted but we were not after the password we took it out so we could reload and get a new password key generated,I will try and get info and PM you, but that would be my approach is to remove and reinstall and start over.You may want to look for a WEP B.B. and see if anyone else has a suggestion. Reverend if you have your connection tweaked and thats the best that you can get then you have done everything possible, and to me thats whats important. I think everyone has had to deal with a bad setup at one time, but if all bases are covered its just waiting it out until something better can come along......to paraphrase your good book I think it has been said that "This to shall Pass".....of course you already know this stuff but, its always been helpful for me when someone gently reminded me about my situation........ I agree and think the answer to your question is that even though a product is the best it may not be recognized by most people, therefore the best is what the so called majority think. I guess its the same with cars is a Ford or a Chevy better? Depends who you ask and someone will say neither and name another car, go figure:):) Microwave

Thats funny.LMAO .........some of these people cant think out of the box because they follow a script, I just had a similar conversation with a Verizon guy and hes trying to explain something to me and he doesn't have a clue what he is talking about and insist that if I knew anything about software or computers and all that B.S. maybe I could understand the point he was trying to make....lol....The question is did you get an Apple so you can shop till you bop???? lol.... over a year ago I talked to a tech support guy in India that worked for Dell and he told me he spoke perfect English to bad I wasn't able to understand him.....my response was I now see the problem I don't speak English I speak American....lol so I hung up and called back and got someone I could understand!!! Moderators are watching and reading all post,I think the idea being and should be that unless something gets way out of hand nature should take its course.Threads have been locked recently by me. VanBuren suggested to take off topic discussions or arguments to email or PM, and this position has been said before. Although its never been openly discussed one of the things I believe this site supports is the exchange of ideas.The dilemma when a moderator clips or censors someone is that personal opinions or outlooks can come into play.What I may think is a really ridiculous thought or idea may in fact be the door that opens the discussion that can really make a change for someone else even though I dont think cancer will be cured in this forum....thats why censorship is such a drastic tool in my opinion.The general feeling is that adults can and should temper their forum netiquette on their own.Of course I can only speak for myself and not CA3LE GUY that owns this great site and gives us all the liberty to have this exchange.I've been on this site a long time and support what Damon does and respect all his hard work, I have seen many people come and go but, what has been constant is , ideas are still exchanged no matter if only the poster liked it and everyone else thought it was usless............thats how things work!!! and in the infamous words of the great civic leader Rodney King's words "cant we all just get along". I have done this several times ....but its probably not allowed....if someone was to copy the wpa file from a new machine and install the old hard drive and give it the new wpa file it is something that can work.......but the reality is with a brand new machine it is nice to start all over with a fresh O.S. and probably a larger hard drive than was in the old machine..... of course this was done by me for academic reasons only....lol Microwave

Yes the further you are from the dmarc or mpop it can and does slow down your connection,also the number of devices hooked up will affect things as well.the reason you want to be as close as possible to where the C.O. line comes in is due to resistance,the "filter" that is used does usually serve you better outside but will work at the computer also....years ago I ran a line from the Dmarc to my computer and had a switch installed to remove the rest of the house and it did make a big improvement for my speed..........it usually will depend on your circumstance at your location to know if any of these things can help...... My guess is you have to tell the computer that the nic card is installed....and yes when I have run my connection with a USB port it was always slower.....have you gone into control panel to network connections to verify that your systems is setup for your connection?? Microwave

Welcome to the forum and glad you are sharing you ideas or point of view.........To me the point of ALL games is they are pointless, and thats the idea it is a brief vacation from reality, a mental exercise so to speak....or sometimes its just plain fun!!! The only time I would see any game as being something thats is not good is if the person playing the game is not able to understand that its not real, it has no connection to reality....I think that if I started thinking about all the things in this world that are pointless ....I would go crazy, I saw a thing on T.V. where they put kids in a room without any toy guns and in no time the boys were either pointing their fingers and going bang...bang....bang.....or using some other toy as a gun......Are the old Three Stooges movies acceptable to everyone......no I have heard people say they were to violent.....but of course now I guess its pretty tame stuff...
