That is the first thing I do when I reformat. Uninstall the crap. cclean it out. And go from there. Everytime. But the next time (I purchased an original C.D. they say is clean of that junk , for $20) I am going to try that. Yeah, e-machines.

tommie gorman replied to Swimmer's topic in General Discussion
Definately interesting statistics. -
A true shame, I hope she did not do that to herself. In some it is a mental state, wanting to be thin to be beautiful. I hope that was not the case. I saw a horrifying movie about that one time. Real scary.

Welcome to the forum AGuineaPig. Lets see. You may have done these, but they were not on your list. Who is your anti-virus? Have you tried with your firewall down? Have you ran your AV in safe mode? Are you using a wireless router? Can you bypass it directly to the modem? Have you tweaked it yet? Using cable-nut. http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-1013 Have you defragged lately? Is that test done with the smart test? Could you try directly with the 1013 File Test. Are you grounded properly?

Glad to be of service Roco. I wonder what Stank_Ho's answer would have been, if self written?
-
Get you a speaker phone and put it on speaker, you are hands free to surf while waiting. That is what I do.
-
So, who said the assignment had to be self written. I did pull it from several different writings. It was my conglomeration. That was not the only link, but a good start. I had to choose the writing, and mix it up so as to make sense and sound good. Old sayings are seldom self made, they are passed on. And you liked it.

Hughes.net/Direcway Upload Speeds.

OK, I see the smoke rolling from here. Are we talking about the L Band to Ku Band 3.5W BUC transmitter? You might clue me in a little, is this supposed to speed things up a little? I could not find any prices. Let me know what is up? -
It was forwarded to me by e-mail. I had not read it yet, so I figured why not.

Thats one thing I don't like about the modems, you have to rely on them keeping them updated. I would call them anyway. Sometimes (rarely) they are helpful!

You've got to admire John Glenn.....Still proud to be ex-military!! WHAT SENATOR JOHN GLENN SAID: There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January. In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq. When some claim that President Bush shouldn't have started this war, state the following: a. FDR led us into World War II. b. Germany never attacked us; Japan did. >From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost ... an average of 112,500 per year. c. Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.! North Korea never attacked us. >From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost .. an average of 18,334 per year. d John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. e. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. >From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost .. an average of 5,800 per year. ! f. Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions. g. In the years since terrorists attacked us , President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking. But< /I> . It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound That was a 51-day operation. We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records. It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!! Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB! The Military morale is high! The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts But Wait there's more! JOHN GLENN (ON THE SENATE FLOOR) Mon, 26 Jan 2004 11:13 Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living This IS a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of the military. Senator Metz enbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn): "How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?" Senator Glenn (D-Ohio): "I served 23 years in the United State s Marine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my checkbook, Howa! rd; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank." "I ask you to go with me ... as I went the other day.. to a veteran's hospital and look those men .. with their mangled bodies in the eye, and tell THEM! they didn't hold a job! You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go, as I have gone, to the widows and Orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee... and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their DADS didn't hold a job. You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch those waving flags You stand there, and you think about this nation, and you tell ME that those people didn't have a! job? What about you?" For those who don't remember During WW.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney representing the Communist Party in the USA. Now he's a Senator! If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran. In God we Trust

I guess I was referring to when you restart it yourself it turns out the lights and they come on one at a time. Have you asked Hughes.net?
-
The way I have read it in here, is that you should only run TCP or cable-nut. Not both. That they can interfere with each other. Probably cable-nut would be best. Try that!

I hate cordless phones (the wife always has the battery run down anyway). I don't use my cell phone at home anyway. My kids are too old for a baby monitor anyway. No wireless network. I seriously it will interfere with my garage door opener, and my wife needs the exercise anyway. The battery in my remote key fob is dead anyway. What is EMS radio? And I am not sure if it will mess my TV antenna very much anyway. And what is wrong with the stone age anyway? Back when a woman listened!
-
If that is the 80's, what is using an antenna then?
-
So are some of the old options gone, or are they hidden? Like search-refresh-home-e mail-print-etc...?

Hughes.net/Direcway Upload Speeds.
tommie gorman replied to tommie gorman's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
Yeah, with a down hill run it might do better, on maybe falling off a cliff. One thing I have noticed, I always get better speeds if I do not smart test! Especially if I get multiple tests done. Like say I put in 579 for the original test, and it moves on up the ladder. Then my tests really suck. It does not give you a chance to clear out your cache between tests.
