True, but its quite different from the ultimate boot cd, cuz BartPE creates a 'bootable windows' (GUI) environment, instead of the dos one that ubcd has..

I have a BartPE compilation.. It makes a boot cd too, but you can include various other programs such as spyware, antivirus (virus scan) and file management programs on it..

AMD beats Intel at games, but Intel has higher speeds.. Look at this webpage for different tests that were ran on both P4's and AMD processors.. Intel beats AMD at archiving, audio and video encoding, script execution.. (usually normal work ), but AMD get better response times..

My P4 is the 2.4A Prescott.. As far as I know, there is only the fan installed on top of it, but I read an article on a website about that cpu and its magnificent heatsink from intel that cooled it down to about the same temp as mine (even oc'd i think..). Before reading this and checking my actual cpu temp, I was also convinced that AMD's ran cooler than Intel's cpus, but as far as I remember the author of the article said that Intel had more engineers (duh..) than AMD and they could therefore achieve better performance with their products (e.g.: more development for cpu cooling = better processors) .. But its true that Pentiums consume a lot of power.. I didn't know what FDISK was, except that it would delete my whole hdd (including file system).. Then I did a full conversion of my hdd with the OS installer and it took me close to an hour to convert a 80GB hdd to ntfs.. .. But it works

I don't know why you would post a site like that in this topic when you can get the reg key for opera for free now, for the moment

When you pop in the boot diskette before system boot, type help and you can read the help file.. It has a section about the format tool which is on the floppy.. You could format a partition with it or even delete the file system on the whole hard drive and the partitions and then the next time you install windows, the setup will reformat your hdd for you (create C:) and create the file system (ntfs for XP) .. I don't remember the commands, so that's why I'm using the help file.. EDIT: I don't think Microsoft could help you if you lost your key and purchased the windows os from a retailer (if that's what you did..)

Avant is a stand alone browser.. It comes with its own IE engine (IE.exe)

How do you turn off the indexing service? Through Folder Options or something, cuz I couldn't find it before..

I think even Avant Browser was better than Opera, but hey.. If its free, I'm in!!

Maybe the disk clean up is screwed up or some of the files to be cleaned are in use or cannot be deleted.. That's just a guess, but I haven't had that problem before.. Check on Microsoft website to see if they have anything
