  1. Jesus, I don't think so. Well, at least I know my server is running good
  2. I'll give that a try. I just love filezilla. It does exactly what I need it to do. One thing that bugs me however, at least on Mac, is if you click the filename wrong it thinks you want to rename it. Bugs the shit out of me. I'll give that a try when I get a chance.
  3. How do your uploads look when testing here?
  4. Don't you like how everyone points fingers at the other guy... always First of all, WOW on your system specs very nice. What ftp client are yo using. Have you thought that maybe the problem lies there? I personally use Filezilla for all of my ftp client needs and have had no problems. Also, do you have problems uploading with any other protocol besides ftp?
  5. Thanks, I appreciate it.
  6. Thank you for reporting that. I changed some things around last night... and there was a couple lines of that script that I missed. This is resolved now. In the future could you please report things like this to the "Bug Reporting" section. There are links on the test pages and home page to it. Or here >> https://testmy.net/ipb/forum/150-v109-bug-reporting/ Again, thank you for reporting that. Without members like you this wouldn't be possible. - Damon
  7. Your traceroute is clean, hop 11 is supposed to look like that by the way... The Planet told me that it's only an issue is the subsequent hops fail. A while back I had my host look into YOUR trace specifically. They said no packet loss and everything looked good. I don't know what to tell you other than sit tight... I have a bunch more servers coming online by the end of the month :-/ It has nothing to do with my end though... your host must not have very good peering to Houston. But then again you had problems on your last host. testmy.net is different... stop comparing our scores to other sites... it's not always that easy. ... One thing to also understand is that the test method here is COMPLETELY different than anywhere else. Because of that method you can sometimes find other problems with your computer that aren't even necessarily related to your internet. For instance, my girlfriends old macbook could only pull about 6Mbps... I changed her hard drive out for a faster one and BAM now she maxes out my connection. You can't always compare the scores here with scores you get at other places... this site is totally different. I can tell you this much. I tested at the same time as you just now and pulled 37Mbps ... AND you have a clean route from what I see. You seriously might want to look into other issues you may have dude. - CA3LE

    Hi There :)

I haven't used the others but after a little research those links are approved for posting here. I can vouch for SpeedGuide.net's TCP optimizer though. That program is especially good for pre-Windows 7 machines. Actually, I run it on every computer that I install older versions of Windows on. I haven't emailed the owner of SpeedGuide for years but we've both been linking to each other since the beginning. - they have my respect.
  13. Version 10.9 final released today. I have been programming non-stop since I put v10.8 out. I'm confident enough with this new version to finally stamp it. 9 days later than expected, but I still had things that needed addressing before I could call it a new version. I work on the site live, on a daily basis so those of you that are here often may not notice too many changes. It's kinda like when you live with someone and they get all fat... but you don't notice because you see them every day . (you have to admit, that's a funny analogy). Most software developers prefer to work offline and release everything at once. I've always liked to work on the site live. Sometimes you'll catch an error during the late hours when I'm really implementing stuff... personally, programming like that pushes me to make less mistakes... it's made me better at what I do. If I mess up, then it effects my users and I DON'T want that. So working that way has pushed me to make less mistakes. It's not a normal way of doing things but it's how I work, so shut up! There has been 400 to 500 additional hours of programming and administrative work that has been put in since 10.8 was released >40 days ago. Remember, I'm only one person too... but I've literally been working 7 days a week to work towards v11. Most of the work has been put towards optimization of the code. At this point nearly 90% of the code behind the site has been rewritten from the ground up. There are also functionality and design changes as well. But, as I said... testmy.net is created by one person, not a development team. I can waste my time writing change logs or I can let my users figure out what's changed and put my efforts towards something more useful. Hope you all enjoy it, more to come. 14. I think for you it may be the right way to go. I too haven't been impressed with Zune... I also agree about the iTunes deal. They really need to make it more open. The ipod is definitely too proprietary. Much of Apples proprietary nature no longer bothers me, Apple's hardware and software really are a perfect match and I understand why they do what they do... but when it comes to the ipod...... give me a break Apple
  15. Thought I would ping this thread... PING!
  16. I've never owned a sony mp3 player. But I played with one at bestbuy a few months ago. Looks like it has lots of feature for the price. $100 with apple doesn't get you that much. Personally I'd get an ipod. But that's more because I have like 3-4 things in my home built to dock ipods. I use my droid for my personal music these days though. Your not spammy dude, never worry about posting too much. That's why this is here. The more regulars this forum gets the better it will be as an internet resource. Good luck... could you please review and make a post here about which ever mp3 player you go with. My users will find it helpful I'm sure.
  17. Right on, that's what I was going to tell you to do.. but you figured it out before I had a chance. Right on.
  18. I wonder if he got it figured out...

    Hi There :)

Start up a new topic, post up some of your scores. Maybe we can help you get the most out of that connection of yours
  20. Do you mean that you see it in that left column, in the explorer?

    Hi There :)

Hi pronkey, welcome to the site. And Chikusai... sorry if this topic got skipped over. The site was being converted over to new programming about the time that you joined..... many posts got over looked and some ever got lost during that process. Site running perfectly now though.
  22. Maybe that will be a future premium account feature... we'll have to see 'bout that The program is already setup to test with ANY possible file size, go ahead... give it a try. https://testmy.net/dl-{FILESIZE-in-KB} or https://testmy.net/dl-{FILESIZE-in-MB}MB so for instance https://testmy.net/dl-15360 or https://testmy.net/dl-15MB[/code] I've actually already tested it with 1GB before, but I have it limited to 100MB right now. The upload test doesn't currently have the resources built into it yet to serve like that but it will very soon. As soon as I have it finished I'll be adding the option for users to enter their own test size. 100KB to 100MB. - D
  23. Update: The Peering Lead for my host is investigating. There may be a bottleneck in the peering with Comcast. Comcast seems to be a common denominator in this case.
  24. Thanks Buntz, I've forwarded your info to my host as well... Here's a quote from their most recent response regarding this
