  1. What are you using it for?
  2. Hey Rob, I got that added for you. It's at >> http://www.testmy.net/ipb/forum/156-verizon-wireless/ --- this topic has been moved into the new forum. Thanks, -Damon
  3. You most likely have to open something named setup.exe or something of that nature inside the extracted folder. -D
  4. Well, are they old CD's -- it's possible that those installs will only work with older versions of windows. If the installer is looking at the windows version and it's the wrong version many old installers will error out. Give us more specifics on what OS you're running and how old those CDROM's are. You may also want to try browsing to the drive and opening the installer manually. I'll give you instructions on this if you need me to. -D
  5. WERD! I really want to get one of those. I've got the mac mini now and my girlfriend has a macbook... I'd like to get an iPad on my new Apple network I've got going -- I love the gestures. Donnovan, look at my signature... this new connection is DOPE!
  6. You actually found a little bug. Most people are being forwarded to the new location but there were curtain instances where it was bugged. I've removed the file that was causing this mislinking. Thanks for letting me know

  8. Well, it's installed... Lookin' pretty decent :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 35214 Kbps about 35.21 Mbps (tested with 51200 kB) Download Speed is:: 4299 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 14220 Kbps about 14.2 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Upload Speed is:: 1736 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2010-04-10 05:10:47 GMT D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-FO8P9IK3B U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-I5KR3D17W User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_3; en-us) AppleWebKit/531.22.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Safari/531.22.7 [!] About 5 Mbits off on both the upload and download but I must say... I'm pretty impressed.
  9. Plus SMF 2 was very bad on my server. My server load has been cut in half... and no more defunct processes. Good to see you too. -D
  10. A little better today... can't wait for my install tomorrow.
  11. Glad you like it... I personally hated SMF 2 so that's why I switched over to IPB. Thanks for letting me know of MYBB but I've paid for IPB and I'm really happy with it so we'll be running this for a while. I've never really like vB that much. It was cool back in the day but I've heard of allot of users hating the new version. Stick around, I have allot of new stuff coming down the line. When all is said and done the entire site, including the speedtests will be new. I'll most likely offer the old version of the tests for a few years to anyone who doesn't like change. About 60-65% of the traffic here is repeat visitors so I figure I must be doing something right... but it's 2010 and time for the latest and greatest. I've completely rewritten the site about four times in the sites history and I have a bunch of ideas of how I can do some things better... not to mention each year the bar on my programming skills gets raised. I know at least 10 times what knew the last time I did a major rework. So the new tests should be pretty sweet. Once I finish my brainstorm and get a plan together the code should fall together fairly quick... I'll throw it in beta (for our registered users to test) then once we're happy we'll get it launched. I have allot of work ahead of me. Thanks for the feedback, -Damon
  12. I just moved today and am waiting on my internet install so I am using my phones connection on my computer (wifi sharing on WM 6 hacked HTC Touch Diamond)... I usually get twice this speed at my old place.... but here it is...
  13. ooooooh Ryan... One more post and ya got 3k! Yeah, the site has a pretty major following. Some people just browse through and read... other just test their speed. But at any given time there is usually at least a thousand or so people active on the site each hour. You have to also note that this forum has recently been upgraded and many people are still getting the hang of how to find new posts and how to navigate and such. (btw, easiest way to view new content is to hit the 'View New Content' link at towards the top of the pages... sounds like a no brainer but some people aren't used to that yet...). Keep visiting, soon the forums will be super active again. TONS of very qualified individuals are members here and love to answer questions. Wealth of knowledge. - Damon - Site Owner / Chief Administrator
  14. Wow man... maybe I should change the default theme -- looks like most of you like the other one more. I personally like the TMN 2010 theme Well, I'm off to start my move... fun fun, we all know how much fun moving is.
  15. Well, I'm moving tomorrow. I was going to get cable because I haven't been too impressed with Qwest's service lately. But I'm under contract so I called them to see what was available in my new area. I was surprised to find out that they have insane speeds available over there. So on Friday they'll be hooking up my new 40/20 service at the new place. Once I'm hooked up I'll update this thread and let you guys know if I actually get close to those speeds. 40 Mbps down and 20 Mbps up... CRAZY! I'm pretty excited. Big upgrade from my current 20/768 (which I hardly ever see that 20 Mbps). Hopefully in the new area, with a new modem I'll actually get my speeds. We'll just have to see if Qwest delivers on their promises... If not I'll be downgrading it to the lowest package and will go back to cable internet. I don't think that Cox Communications can compete with those upload speeds though. I think their best service is 50/5, which is badass and I definitely wouldn't mind having that, lol. But I guess since I'm under contract I might as well give it a try and see if it works out for me. With 20 Mbps upload I could do allot of cool remote crap for sure GOOD LUCK TO ME! Fingers Crossed!
  16. Ahh, cool. So do you have to have line of sight to one of their towers... LOS is Line Of Sight ... right? Is it like microwave? We used to have a provider like that in Phoenix, crazy fast (for the times) but only people that had line of sight with South Mountain were able to get it. I think the company must have went bankrupt because I haven't heard anything about them in like 10 years.
  17. Yeah, most people don't even know it's there yet. It's brand new. It's 100% working though...
  18. So is airnet.ca a localized provider... are they a cellular type internet connection? I'm just curious.
  19. Should be cool now... the reason being because I had it set to only allow 5 lines... you have a 10 line sig. I really don't have a problem with out mods having sigs that big however. You may want to update the formatting... some of the BBCode is messed up. -- let me know if there are any more problems with that. -D
  20. Let us know if that solves the problem.
  21. An Airnet Forum has been created... http://www.testmy.net/ipb/forum/155-airnet-wireless-inc/ Start some discussion there This topic has also been moved to within the new forum. Enjoy! -Damon
  22. There are a ton of our guides at >> http://www.testmy.net/ipb/forum/17-guides/ As for the Windows Update... I first need to know what OS you're talking about.... is it Windows Xp, Windows Vista or Windows 7? Here is the instructions for Windows Vista... Click the Start button, choose All Programs, then choose Windows Update. You’ll see the Windows Update window. Choose Change Settings from the leftmost pane. There you can change installation time, turn of auto update options ETC. Make your changes as you like and then click OK to apply the settings. You can also view Windows vista update history from your control Panel. To see update vista update history go to control Panel > windows update > view Update History But the real question is... why do you think THAT is what is making her computer access the hard drive all the time? Give us some more specifications on the problem and we'll be able to help you better. -D
  23. DOCSIS 3.0 rocks... even the speeds you're getting are awesome. Even with the normal package with Cox my friends here in AZ are getting over 20Mbps... With other packages I've seen some with over 50Mbps. Just crazy. I'm moving next week and can't wait to get back on Cable. DSL really can't compare unless they have fiber to the house. I'm surprised that DSL providers have even been able to pull what they have off of twisted pair... A technology that has literally been around since 1881... They've put enough bandaids on the problem (by adding more pairs) but it's about time that they abandon copper for fiber. Cable providers can get away with using copper still however simply because COAX has a higher bandwidth potential.
  24. Score images are now working with the new forum. Although you'll need to either re-generate your code or edit your existing signature code. I'll use my code for instance... [url=https://testmy.net/stats/id-1S980CZ76][img=http://www.testmy.net/share2-1S980CZ76][/url] All you have to do is add... &.png ... after the score code. So the correct, working output would look like... [url=https://testmy.net/stats/id-1S980CZ76][img=http://www.testmy.net/share2-1S980CZ76&.png][/url] To generate new BBC for your signature you can always re-test and regenerate, search the scores database and click 'IMG' next to the score you'd like to generate code for.... or take the test code (e.g. mine from above would be 1S980CZ76) and paste it directly over at the Share a Score Tool. Once you get the updated code... just paste it to the signature section of your profile. Enjoy! - Damon By the way... I'll go through and fix some of these for you guys... if I see one that isn't displaying correctly I'll take care of it. But if you could please help by taking care of your own that would be a big help to me.
