  1. A man after my own heart, but an ice cold Bass or Newcastle is the thing for me, or maybe even a Black and Tan made with Bass and Guinness!
  2. The default password is password, admin is the id.
  3. I guess I better lay in my emergency supplies, again, for the impending Doom!
  4. Me too! That would have been great to see!
  5. Yeah, it could be....... but I think it happened. Still kinda funny even if your right :haha:
  6. I ran across this the other day while listening to WBLM, a local radio station here. From what the announcer said, this is a real voice mail left by someone who saw a car accident and the resulting mayhem. It's hilarious! (The related mp3 is just over 3 megs, so dialup users be aware) http://wblm.com/audio/ACCI.mp3
  7. Cholla: Thats because..... well, you know.......... Lid up, seat down from my womans point of view. I say, both down, as you, to keep things civilized.
  8. Using preview will automatically run macro viruses within an infected email. Outlook express is also known for this.
  9. I generally don't open a attachment unless I'm expecting it. E-Mail spoofing is happening so often now, it's hard to tell whats legit and what isn't (Especially with attachments).
  10. I am assuming that the wired router is connected to your cablemodem. What models of routers are you using? Are you using static or dynamic ip addressing for connecting to the wired router and do you have internet access for a computer connected to the wired router?
  11. You can log into your router and check the logs to see where the traffic is coming from. Does your nic card lights show the same activity and do you notice any speed degradation with your machine while hooked to the router?
  12. I'm a pretty basic kind of guy...........
  13. Sorry about that. Did you find out whether the traffic was legit or not?
  14. .s1: Great Story! Maybe he'll be back, better get a firewall and block access to ip 127.0.0.1 :haha: :haha:
  15. You could try Ad-Aware from Lavasoft instead of spybot: http:// www.lavasoft.de
  16. What op sys is on the machine with 2 nics? XP does support bridging, from what I understand (Internet Connection Sharing). Edit: Heres a link to MS for more info on bridging XP: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/hnw_understanding_bridge.mspx
  17. I don't work much with wireless but I'm sure someone here will be able to help you out.
  18. If you want, download and run hijackthis then copy and paste the results in a post. This program shows what programs start and run when you boot up and when Internet explorer starts.
  19. Might be a bit late, but you might want to consider an ew hard drive, especially if your old drive is 2 or 3 yrs. old. That'll be a bottlneck for access speed. Just a thought.
  20. Some of that isn't. I have an old farm house that was redone in the seventies. That bathroom: picture it in pink wallpaper and Rasberry Ice Cream purple toilet, tub, and sink Picture a Black marblesque toilet seat as well . Thats my upstairs bath (Haven't renovated it yet).
  21. Go to My Network places and click on view workgroup computers. If there are none listed, then you have a bit more work to do to set up the shares. If they both appear, double click on the computer name of the other computer and see what might already be shared (I'm not sure whether sharing is automatically implemented or not). Or if nothing appears: There are some that we need to check. To start with go to start>right click on my computer and select properties.. Under this, there will be a Name tab. This is where the settings naming your computer and Workgroup name. Make sure that the workgroup name is the same on both systems and note the computer names as well. If you need to change the workgroup name on one machine (or both if you want to customize), you should be able to just type where the old workgroup name is. After doing this, it will welcome you to the XXXXXX workgroup and ask you to reboot. Now, check in my network places again to see if the machine names appear. Double click on the name (if it appears) and see If you can access a folder on the other machine. If you can, you have succeeded and need to add a password to the guest account, for security purposes. Please let us know.
  22. Can't see this one either, but shows as 0kb on link. The first one, sometimes you just have to wonder.......... Could it be a political statement about the hormone treatments on cows..........
  23. This is on the wireless machine? If so, you need to get rid of the bridge. This was created by the Network Wizard trying to set up the lan networking. Go to Start>control panel>Network and internet connections then click on network connections. Right mouse click on the network bridge and select delete. Reboot the machine and let us know what happens.
  24. It sounds like he has a trojan. Run hijackthis and cut and paste the results into a post. Some trojans (Downloader variants as an example), even if you fully clean the machine, will reappear on reboot. Some virus files hide in the recycle bin, some within your system restore files, just to name a few. They "sort of" self replicate in your machine. If you have multiple users on the XP machine, be sure that your anti-virus is testing all of the profiles (some may not).
