  1. You won't be uncapping anything with the program you mentioned in your first post. It hasn't worked for years now. Plus, isp's are way beyond stopping it.
  2. Although I don't discuss it on the boards as Testmy.net is not the place for it, I feel that everyone determines their own INTERNET fate. Uncapping isn't anywhere near as extreme as it used to be. It's pretty casual and is geared more toward today's enthusiast. Read some of the FAQ's/Tutorials from the TheoryShare.com link within my sig. Visit the forum link if you'd like. Pretty interesting stuff.
  3. Yep...great isn't it? Some things are still in the works (like search), but it's pretty good overall. Wow, search is working now. Just realized it. Wasn't working just 3 days ago.
  4. I use Mininova as Dilatedpeoples28 suggested, or : Newnova.org
  5. Speakeasy gave you the exact same download speed result as TesyMy.net?
  6. alitalia is referring to the default Windows Messenger application which is listed under the "All Programs" menu as it's the only one that will start with Outlook Express. Plus, he is describing the tabs that are present within the program's options. Windows Messenger Service is a completely different program and doesn't ever start with Outlook Express or have anything to do with it. This program is the annoying one that sends you internet broadcasts in the form of popups all throughout the day (even at your desktop). Stopping it is as simple as following the steps that FallowEarth posted in reply #13. The steps to stop the default Windows Messenger from starting are posted
  7. Install the Kazaa Lite Codec Pack and all your troubles will be gone. When installing, choose only what you need. There is a DVD encoder included. Get it here: Kazaa Lite Codec Pack
  8. Welcome to the site fln8iv. Enjoy your stay. I think we cover lots of that info here, but it's still nice to read different summaries.
  9. I've haven't purchased a pre-assembled system in over 7 years. The last one I had was a Dell 436MHz in 1998.
  10. I went ahead and picked up Windowblinds 5 to see what's really going on with it. I must say, it's very smooth and light on the system even though it's using my video card's hardware. I'm happy to report that the Vista theme looks/functions great. The Glass interface is smokin'! WindowBlinds 5 Brings Vista UI to XP - Version 5 of Stardock's flagship Windows customization software has been in the works for over a year, according to company CEO Brad Wardell. Initially, Wardell's team was dubious that such features could be added without severe performance lag to Windows XP, which lacks Vista's new advanced graphics subsystem. However, the recent shift to DirectX-enabled graphics hardware from ATI and Nvidia has opened the door for the next-generation of user interfaces. Windows Vista will utilize hardware acceleration to ensure a snappy UI, and Stardock says WindowBlinds 5 does the same for Windows XP. -
  11. Damn, it must be nice. Can't wait to see what the tweaks do.

  13. Welcome to the best site on the net joey2005.
  14. That's a sweet setup rammolo. What are the specs of it? Indestructable, you left out your specs as well. From the pics, I see it has lots of toys.
  15. If you're referring to the theme titled "Sapphire" in Tippmaster's post, that would be hot. I would love a dark theme as it would be easy on the eyes (especially late at night).
  16. Out of the theme selections, CA3LE made that particular one default. I think it's still listed amongst the group so we can see the actual title of it as opposed to just seeing default.
  17. Default as in "I don't really care." or "I didn't look until now."
  18. WindowBlinds 5 was released on 11-29-05 and it has the ability to emulate a very nice Vista theme. Stardock WindowBlinds 5 Here's a photo of one of the first themes designed with the glass visual actually working correctly.
  19. Just curious to know what forum theme you guys are using. I'm currently using the "Classic YaBB SE Theme". If you don't know how to get to them, simply click on "Profile" or "Your Username", click on "Look and Layout Preferences" from the left column, and the first option on the right that says "Current Theme" has a "change" link that you can click to change your theme.
  20. I don't want to argue because everyone has their preference, but, IMO, IE has alway been faster, stronger, and definitely more seasoned. By the way, you can't browse 5 sites to my 1.
  21. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Firefox is just a fad. The bandwagon is not as full as it was just months ago. All it took was for FF to get popular enough before it's flaws started surfacing. Honestly, the browser has been losing momentum for quite some time now. The millions of logged downloads are only of those who have actually clicked on the download link, but not of those who've given it a try, didn't like it at all, and uninstalled it within a day. It's a hard pill to swallow for fans of the browser, but FF is reaching for users that just aren't there anymore. This known flaw is a brutal blow for them. The users that dropped it will undoubtedly return to IE, and if they have SP2 installed (more than likely), they'll get a taste of IE7 and never return.
  22. Why so angry? Members are trying to help you. You can accept it or use the search function. Either way, a broadband connection rated at 64kbps isn't really considered broadband at all. Here is the isp's page: http://broadband.sify.com/showplan.php?id=1
